STRENGTH: 7/10: Dero is a peaceful individual who looks upon violence as an unfortunate necessity in an ever violent galaxy. He trains everyday to ensure he in excellent physical shape should the need arise that he must engage in combat.
DEXTERITY: 8/10: He practices every morning using a mixture of Jedi meditation and Zabraki martial arts movements to center himself and keep himself limber, flexible, and calm. He knows a healthy body is the key to a healthy survival.
CONSTITUTION: 9/10: Like all Zabrak, Dero has an extremely high tolerance to pain which mixed along with the fact his species has two hearts, he is in excellent physical health. Training everyday, and the absence of a lifestyle of unhealthy vices such as Glitterstim, Death Sticks, and other narcotics has left Dero an excellent example of a healthy specimen.
INTELLIGENCE: 6/10: Like most individuals of Dero's age, he still has much to learn and will admit that he is going to spend his entire life learning. His species tendency to dedicate themselves to a task until they have completed it has driven him to learn as much as he could in his short life.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: Dero is dedicated to the New Jedi Order and their ideologies. This is both a strength and a weakness in the sense that he draws comfort from the tenets and knows what he stands for, though it also causes him to refuse any other thought that isn't part of the Jedi Order's teachings. He is stubborn and will not stop until he has reached a goal. This hinders him at the same time due to his refusal to accept anything but success of his targeted desire. The young Zabrak is compassionate and will attempt to spare a life even should that life be of his sworn enemy, the Sith.

PERSONALITY: Compassionate, Loyal, and Peaceful. Dero is a friendly individual with a desire to help the downtrodden and exploited. Often going out of his way to help someone should he see they are in desperate need of it. He attempts to find a peaceful option to a problem, drawing his saber only when he has exhausted all possible routes. Even then he will often lower his weapon when he enemy is incapable of continuing the fight, giving them the choice of life once again. Dero will dedicate himself to one goal and stop only once he has reached it. Should there be others who wish to reach the same goal, he will work alongside them to reach and after attaining it, often congratulate them and let them take the credit for it. He lives his life by an ethos "I am but one in a galaxy of many." which gives him the strength and understanding that he is not the only one in the galaxy and there are others who may need help more than himself.

BIOGRAPHY: Dero was born on Iridonia to a single mother who's name escapes him no matter how hard he attempts to recall it. Like all young Zabrak, Dero grew up training for combat learning the martial skills he would need from hand to hand combat to fighting with melee weapons. Like his twin brother, he did not enjoy using blasters as he had decided an enemy that was brave enough to risk his life should be able to see his opponent. Along with his brother Vin, he discovered a derelict GAT-12h/i Skipray Blastboat which the two quickly began attempting to rebuild. Dero worried with the mechanical issues such as the engine and hyperdrive while Vin dealt with the technical aspects such as the computers and controls. Completely inseparable from Vin the two did everything together from rebuilding the Blastboat to training. Though a day would come when a man in brown robes saying he was a Jedi with the New Jedi Order appeared in their small village. He did nothing other than wander through the streets as though he were looking for something. Finally he came to Dero's house where him and his brother sat outside tinkering with parts from the Blastboat. He spoke with the young Zabrak and after a few minutes of conversation asked to speak to their mother. Vin ran inside to fetch her while The Jedi explained to Dero that he was Force Sensitive and should his mother allow it, he would be taken to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi. His mother finally appeared outside and spoke with the Jedi, reacting visibly with shock and then with silent acceptance. That day, Dero was whisked away by a Jedi Knight to Coruscant despite his brother's attempted pleas to stay. Dero knew he was going to make a difference and help those in the galaxy.

They arrived in Coruscant in it's evening, giving Dero perfect reason to gape at the sheer size of the planet and it's glowing lights radiating from every building, street, and speeder. Though the thing that would take his breath away would be the Jedi Temple with it's five spires and sheer beauty. Upon arriving he was taken to the sleeping quarters and given his own room that he would use while he was training. For weeks he underwent learning the ways of the Jedi and their history from their humble beginnings as students on Tython, to the Civil Wars of the old republic and the Mandalorian Wars, finally learning of the rise of the Emperor and his eradication of the old Jedi Order through years of careful planning. All the knowledge fascinated the young Dero causing him to spend as much time he was allowing inside the Archives pouring through holocrons and holobooks. When the time came for them to begin combat training, Dero was well ahead of the human students as well as most of the alien species given his peoples tradition of training all Zabrak to fight at a young age. Months had been spent at the academy and he watched as members of his classes disappeared, having been chosen by Jedi Knights and Masters as their Padawans. Still Dero remained as he dedicated himself to learning more and more about the Jedi and their codes, learning that to live them was to be a Jedi. Finally the day would come that a Jedi Knight would wander into the temple and find Dero as he toiled over a holobook in the Archives.

This Jedi's name was Sen Akosh. A Jedi Knight with a reputation for being rather unorthodox in his practices though he respected by the Jedi of the Order. He took Dero as his Padawan learner and began teaching him what he knew, even going so far as to have the young Zabrak build his first lightsaber at the age of eight. Though all Padawan built their own blades, Sen claimed Dero was younger than the others that would build their weapons. Dero's first lightsaber was by no means perfect, though the brilliant blue blade was beautiful to the Padawan. For two years, Sen taught Dero in the comfort of the Academy going through weapons training and meditations alongside his pupil the entire way. They were then called upon to go on ambassadorial missions to other planets and speak with the governments, sent on investigations in Coruscant's streets, and tasked with minor peacekeeping operations in the rim systems. After every assignment and mission they returned to Coruscant where Dero would train with other Padawans in the combat simulations or study in the Archives while his master meditated on the time passed in the reaches of the galaxy.

Dero made friends in both Padawans and Knights alike as he found himself entering stimulating debates with them over trivial matters such as what planet was renowned for it's cuisine to serious matters like the current state of the galaxy. He was a rigid believer that the Sith were only Jedi who had lost their way and were capable of returning to the folds of their Jedi brethren if they were only showed the error of their ways, knowing that if even one Sith could be returned to the light it would be a victory much more important than any battle won by an army. Unfortunately his naivety would be replaced with a grim understanding of the Sith and their motives. At the age of sixteen, Dero and his master Sen were sent to a rim planet to investigate claims of a brewing civil war which an Alliance fast reaction force had deployed to days before. Upon arriving they found the planet was in deep conflict with Sith forces and the Alliance troops were going to be overwhelmed unless a planetside fighter depot could be disabled. Deploying to the surface with a small team of SpecForce operators, Dero and Sen led the way through the forests to the facility which was under relatively minimal security despite it's importance to the Sith's campaign on the planet.

Entering the facility proved to be simple, which should have set off red flags with the two Jedi leading the strike team. Unfortunately it would be too late when they discovered the error of their ways, as an ambush was sprung by the Sith Acolytes which quickly took the lives of half the SpecForce team. Dero and Sen attempted to cover the retreat of the remaining operators which proved futile as they were cut down by a second group of lightsaber wielding Acolytes. Despite their lack of a Crusader leading them, the Acolytes fought with a tenacity that was fueled by the Dark Side and their own needs to gain recognition by their Sith overlords. Dero fought valiantly despite the Sith's numbers and ferocity, taking the fight to them. Turning to face another Acolyte, he was hit with a powerful Force Push which slammed him against the wall dazing him for moments that should have proven his downfall. Gazing through clouded eyes at the red blade that would no doubt take his life and make him one with the Force, he watched as a brilliant purple cut through the Sith. Sen stood in front of his Padawan with blade bared as he fought back the Sith Acolytes, who seemed incapable of breaking the Knight's defenses. Dero saw what his master did before it happened, horror in his eyes as he watched one of the Acolytes take up a blaster and wait until Sen was locked in combat with another of the Sith's companions before shooting the Jedi Knight in the back.

Dero was overcome with grief as he watched his friend and master fall, only to be finished by a blood red blade. Head clearing, and emotions reaching a dangerous peak, Dero drew his blue lightsaber and fell upon the Acolytes who had thought him out of the fight. His first opponent was the Sith who had finished his master, though it was obvious he was no swordsman. The Acolyte fell back from Dero's rush of attacks deflecting them barely before beginning his own attack that consisted of brutal two handed swings and thrusts. He soon fell to Dero's blade as the young Jedi impaled him upon it before turning the strike at the blaster wielding Sith who had opted to draw his own saber. Blade at the ready, he waited for the Sith to begin the melee, while he used a cunning force push against the Sith causing him to lose his balance and fall beneath an onslaught of strikes. Turning to look for another opponent, he saw that the area was littered with corpses of both Sith and Alliance soldiers. Three lay around Dero, which caused him concern as he did not remember striking down the third Acolyte or in which order he had died. Knowing that he had lost himself to his rage, he understood what the masters had taught of the Dark Side and the need to maintain calm emotions no matter the situation. Eyeing the carnage with a new sight, the only body that mattered to the Padawan was that of his master. Two black burnt holes in his tunic, one from the blaster and the other from the Sith's lightsaber as it finished him. He knew he had to complete the assignment else the planet would fall to the Sith, Dero planted the high yield charges against every bit of machinery he could find inside the small control room, and set them so he would have just long enough to escape the facility and return to the fleet in orbit. He couldn't leave his master's body and so he carried the body of Sen Akosh across his shoulders all the way to the shuttle.

Upon returning to the fleet, he commanded the hangar crew to get Sen's body to the morgue and reported to the ships captain who informed him the Alliance force was going to retreat as more Sith ships had arrived and there was no way the Alliance would provide support before the force was destroyed. Dero realized then that soldiers would lose their lives for nothing, just as his master and the SpecForce troopers had. His first reaction was to be angry, until he realized that anger was not how he should react. Instead he returned to his cabin where he meditated from the moment the force entered hyperspace until they had docked at the HQ in Coruscant. Taking the body of his master and returning to the Jedi Temple, he gave his master the final respect and service of a Jedi. At the dawn of the following day, he was joined by Jedi from throughout the Academy as he set flame to the pyre. Laying the weapon of his master upon the pyre before the flames grew too far, he had removed the purple crystal from Sen's saber the evening before, vowing it would be the color crystal of his own lightsaber. As the Jedi dispersed to return to their daily activities, Dero meditated in front of the pyre until at last the flames had died and his master's body was no more. Comforted that Sen had become one with the Force, Dero returned to Acadaemy life, as he had no master and was not going to be sent on missions.

For two years Dero trained, and spent countless hours in the Archives of the Academy learning all he could about the Sith, and how best to combat them. Though the Archives were hazy on the exact method of combating them, he knew a saber could kill one easy enough. He was not going to have another Jedi fall on his behalf at the hands of the Sith, making a personal promise that if he had the opportunity, he would fall before he allowed a Padawan of his own should he take one to die at the hands of the Sith war machine. Nineteen year old Dero waits for the opportunity to undergo his trials and become a full Knight of the New Jedi Order.
