Rev paced back in fourth impatiently at the dueling circle. The dense foliage only seemed to thicken around the camp of Dxun. It proved for great training grounds for new recruits, and a good way to prove their worth to the Clans. Rev was growing more and more impatient for the recruit to show up for his training, his choice, should be on time. Looking at the wrist attachment on his left arm he inspected the recruit's file.

Hair: Black

"Hmm, Now where is that damned recruit..?"

Rev looked at the time which signified that the recruit would be on time if he arrived within 5 minutes, though if he did the Sergeant wouldn't care. No matter when he showed up he would be late, even if he had beaten him there.

Derrian arrived in training, glad he had made it with three minutes to spare, but he knew all to well that he would recieve know congratulations. His bloodline was stacked with prestigous Mandalorian warriors, and even two Mandalores in a far distant past, and how Mandalorian training went was well known to him. His Doashim and Dire Cat had followed him, but sat a long distance away on a high perch, observing the training.

Derrian stood at attention and saluted the Sergeant, his wild black hair complimenting his battle scars.

Rev paced in front of the Recruit, he had heard of the recruit's past and of his family's accomplishments. It would however give him no breaks, only a harder training. The constantly pacing Mando seemed to finally come to a halt inches from the new Recruit.

"Good of you to show up on time Recruit..."

His harsh, cold voice somehow showed a hint of sarcasm, but it was unknown how it rolled off his tongue. The Mandalorian Sergeantly leaned in so the glistening black helmet touched the recruit's nose.

"At ease Gharzr..."

Leaning back to his straightened back near perfect positioned stance he looked over his shoulder at the two creatures in the distance. His covered head gave off a slow shake.

"Those are yours, if I'm mistaken correct me... I'll allow them to be around, but the second they aid you, attack one of my trainers, or more importantly me they're gone... and I don't mean sent back to their kennels. I will personally have them killed..."

He smirked from behind the helmet, knowing it would be hard to have a life long pet killed, and this assured the Sergeant that nothing would happen.

"...by you Recruit Gharzr. If they should so anything, you will kill them."

Looking away from the animals he was honestly surprised such creatures were so tame and loyal to the Mandalorian before him, it signified a leadership, and power unlike any other Mando he had met, other than the great Mandalore.

"Now then Recruit, now that were' aquainted 45 pushups."

He took a step back and gave the area to the young recruit.

Derrian nodded to the creatures, and they rushed to the camp, showing no signs of agression to any of the Mandalorians: their leader was one, and they were trained to protect those who were in the clans.

"Yes, Sergeant sir!"

Derrian immedeatly dropped, catching himself inches from the ground, and began doing push ups at a fast pace. He made no signs that he felt any form of strain; he wasn't even breathing hard. In reality, however, he did feel it, but he would not let tolerate weakness, especially from himself. After his task was complete, Derrian quickly jumped up and stood once more at attention.

As the recruit stood to his feet Rev smirked. Looking back at the ground then back to the recruit he shrugged his shoulders.

"Now Recruit... did you do 45? I didn't hear you counting..."

Looking back to the ground Rev crossed his arms and waited for the recruit to count them out this time. Knowing that these 45 would be much slower than the first he made sure take his time and get relaxed.

((he already had armor on or still need it?))

"Sorry, Seargent sir!"

Derrian wanted nothing more than to punch the Sergeant right in the mouth, yet he would do as he was told: loyalty to the clans above all else.

"1...2...3...4...5...6....7...8...9.....10...11..12..13"

The adrenaline had began pumping.

"14..15..16..17..18..19..20..21..22..23..24..25..26"

He was starting to get tired.

"27...28...29...30...31...32...33...34...35...36...37"

Fatigue was setting in.

"38....39....40..."

Derrian knew he was going to slow now. He wouldn't let his body's pathetic want of rest control him, he would control his body.

"41.42.43.44.45"

Derrian jumped back into attention, sweat covering his face, yet his breath forcibly steady.

Rev was surprised that the Recruit had succeeded, most would have fallen to the temptation of their muscles cries to stop. Walking around the recruit 2 times he stopped at his side.

"Seems your name is all it is hyped up to be Recruit... you would do your family proud, so far..."

Walking back in front of the recruit he stopped once more and looked the Recruit down then back up.

"20 more there recruit... so far this seems to be too easy for you... hold for 30 seconds at 15.. 25 seconds at 16, 20 seconds and 17, 15 seconds at 18, 10 seconds and 19, and 5 seconds at 20. Then stand!"

It was his goal to break the young Gharzr and he would do such a thing by days end. He would push, and push until the recruit wanted to break. Though Rev wouldn't let him, he would be the only thing that would stop him from quitting. It was his goal to make this the hardest day, and week of the young man's life.

Just when relief was close, it was snatched from him quicker then the life from his enemies. Yet, the mention of bringing pride to his family made it worthwile.

"Yes, Sergeant sir!"

Derrian dropped down once more, as fast as he had the previous times, only this time his arms almost collapsed. Catching himself not even an inch from the ground, he forced himself up in spite of his extreme muscular pain.

"1.....2...ugh...3....4.....5.....6....7.....8......9.....ugh, ugh....10"

His breathing was short, and noticably strained, yet he made himself go harder. The fierce Gharzrs weren't named after his family for nothing.

"11.....12.....13....14...15"

He began to hold himself up, the weight of his weapons and armor only intensifying the strain on his already weakened body. Thirty seconds.

"Ahh! Ugh!"

Twenty five.

"16..AHH!"

His deep shouts of persistence drew onlooker's eyes. Twenty seconds.

"Ugh, 17!"

FIfteen

"Eight-AHH!-Eighteen!"

He couldn't take much more. Ten

"19!!!"

Five

"20!"

Derrian pushed himself off the ground, only this time without a jump.

Rev gave the Recruit a couple soft claps before going back to the hated Sergeant most seen him as through training. Walking towards a path he stopped next to the dirt that would make up the narrow trail.

"Now then, since you made it through the warm-up with flying colors time for a short run."

Pointing down the path it would be a straight shot to a hill that led down to a bog. The bog is where the Sergeant would be meeting the young Gharzr.

"This path isn't too long, 2 miles it leads to a bog, you'll be meeting me down there. No tricks on the path, just a run. Once you get to the bog 20 push ups 75 sit ups. I'll be down there when your done. Your word is all you got, you slack on me with those push ups and sit ups your ass is mine."

With that Rev opened up the trail to the recruit. Though before he let him take off he snatched the canteen from his belt and poured the clear liquid from the canister and clipped the bottle back to his waist.

"Lets go Recruit!"

As much as he hated his Sergeant at that moment, he was still glad that he knew how to train like a true Mandalorian.

"Yes, Sergeant Sir!"

Derrian began his run. He was glad that he had at least not wore out his legs...yet. His Dire Cat and Doashim ran with him, although to them it was nothing more than a leisurely jog.

"Chaos, Bloodbath, show no agression to the Serge no matter what he does to me. Sit dormant and do not attack any mandalorian, no matter what."

The animals understood what he said, and Derrian knew he did. He was glad he could tell them that before they accidently attacked someone.

Upon reaching the bog, a mere ten minutes later, Derrian wasted no time in doing the pushups once in his Sergeant's presence.

"1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10....11....12....13....14....15....16....17....18....19....20"

Once he was done with the pushups, Derrian quickly began on the situps, which proved to me much easier.

"1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41"

Well, they were much easier for a while.

"42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60"

Now he was getting tired, and he knew he would pay for it.

"61 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70 71 72 73 74 75"

Derrian painfully rose into attention. Never had his body been so sore.

Rev showed up as the recruit was counting out 74.. Good at least he was counting aloud to let anyone around know how many he did. And there were scouts around watching him, though they were better hidden than anything the recruit would know about. Rev approached Derrian quickly not giving him any time to breath.

"Recruit! You come to a bog much like this, your soldier are in need of water!"

Reaching out Rev pulled off Derrian's canteen and threw the empty canteen to the ground with a hollowed thud.

"What do you do? This water is undrinkable, though if you continue they will dehydrate and possibly die, though they can continue on and there is always a possibility you may come to a clear stream! Lacking water they cant fight, but drinking contaminated water will in time have its effects. Through sickness, and possibly death! What are you going to do?"

The Sergeant was using the fatigue against the recruit, what would his answer's be while tired. The fatigue would slow down his brain functions and maybe make his answer quicker than he would normally want to. It would also bring out less intelligent answers.

"Well recruit? I dont have all day!"

Derrian would've welcomed any strategic or military question, but not when he was that tired. His brain fumbled with the question, and he internally cursed himself for taking so long, but at last he found an answer that he hoped would be suitable.

"I continue on! You said yourself their is a good chance of finding water. Until it is found, I would kill any wild animals, their blood can be drank for short and limited sustanance, long enough to keep the troops alive until they find water."

His dry mouth and throat was making his words less coherent then usual, but still understandable. He didn't want to think, not then, and not anymore. Derrian had to strain to find that answer, but knew that he wouldn't be able to answer to many more.

He shook his head though it was a possible answer anything the recruit gave out there was always another option. Rev wouldn't give him the satisfaction of being right, no matter how good the answer was, though this wasn't one of the better ones.

"Wrong recruit! There is only a chance if you had listened, and if there is a bog, the stream it leads from chances are is also filled with the same bacteria. You have one of 2 choices, I suggest you remember this. You should be carrying some of these little treats!"

He reached into a pouch and extracted a small tablet, a water purification tablet. Reaching to his own canteen he extracted it from the belt and scooped up the mucky water. Dropping in 2 of the tablets he capped it and let it sit for a few seconds before shaking it. Pulling the cap off he took a long drink and let out a sigh of relief. The sun was blazing down on them now and he could only imagine how hot the recruit was in that armor.

"The other option, though less picked is boil the water wait for it to cool and drink it, the only problem is, if there are scouts they will see the fire! Going ahead you risk one of your soldiers dying or falling to heat stroke, or even shock!"

Pointing to the recruits canteen on the ground he tossed the recruit 2 of the tablets and smirked from behind the helmet.

"You got 2 minutes to fill that canteen and drink up, cause were going mobile! Back up this hill and to camp, we gotta start some more important stuff, I cant have you running around and drinking all day!"

Rev turned and made his way up the path where he seemed to disapear. The gentle incline of the hill though looked flat would be a definite leg a calves burner. Once the recruit got to the encampment they would begin their next stage of training...

((calling it a night 2:30 am here lol, be on tomorrow))

Derrian cursed himself for his incompetence. How could he not think of that? Was he so stupid as to overlook the simplest, yet most effective, solution to a critical problem? No, he wasn't fit to command troops, but only to fight on the front lines. That is what he would do, for he had failed himself with his idiocy.

"Yes sir."

Soon, after a quick refreshing drink, Derrian was on his way back to camp.

Rev came to the dueling circle where the next segment of training would begin. Taking off the helmet it gave a hiss as it decompressed. The cool air that was within the helmet poured out and the hot sun was now pouring down on him. Good thing his armor had some temperature and body heat regulators, the heat could be deadly. In the mean time he would practice some of the basic strikes he hadn't worked on in awhile on a training dummy which was really just a few of the jungle moons cut up trees strapped together to look like a body. That recruit should be arriving any time...

Derrian showed up not long after to find his sergeant practicing melee techniques on a practice dummy. The mandalorian was glad to see combat training: he showed more prowess in it than any other. With his pets not far behind, Derrian stood at attention and watched his sergeant while awaiting orders.

Rev looked at Derrian and gave him a subtle nod. Walking over to the young Recruit he looked him over, seemed ready to fight.

"So recruit... we'll start with some basic hand and feet techniques... these are some of the most important things you'll learn. If your weapon gets away from you, which it shouldn't! This is your last resort, and most dont learn a good hand to hand technique... except for those damned Echani!"

Taking a step away from Derrian he motioned for him to go to the training dummy.

"Hands used to head, and body striking... and of coarse blocking which will be the next training exercise. Feet are for low shots.. knees and elbows strong against unarmed foes, direct knees towards face and stomach, and elbows for face alone. Only time you should use an elbow is when your too close for a strike with the fist, and knees when you have an opportune moment for a face shot, or when your tied up close to the gut!"

Motioning to the dummy once more he gave the recruit a simple nod.

"Do what you can with the dummy, we'll do some minor sparring shortly."

Derrian nodded and took an fighting stance and began practicing on the dummy. Right jab, left jab, left hook, right hook, left kick, left jab, right hook: all performed at remarkably fast speeds, with amazing accuracy and power. Finally, a powerful uppercut with Derrian's right hand shattered the dummy's head, and another powerful body blow with his left hand crushed the chest inward. Derrian viewed what he had done, and was both proud of his ability to fight, and worried that punishment might come by destroying the practice dummy.

Rev looked at the destroyed dummy and smirked at the splintered wood. Walking around it he looked at the destroyed object and nodded approvingly.

"Seems your good at something recruit... you might be able to defend yourself when you dont have a weapon."

Walking to the battle circle he looked around at the dirt below him.

"Alright recruit... I attack you block, I'll throw punches and kicks... though open yourself too much and you might get a knee or an elbow. It wont be pretty if you do!"

Getting set into his stance he waited for Derrian to give him the go.

Derrian stood in a defensive stance and nodded to his sergeant.

"Alright sir, I'm ready!"

Derrian was excited to be part of combat with a higher ranking warrior, and knew that if he held his own in the fight, that his prestige would no doubt grow.
