Dexon Kyjar, once great Jedi Master and powerful Sith Lord, stood in the forests of his new home on Yavin IV. He had moved here to live with his wife and escape the burdens of the galaxy around them, but when word came to him about another Grand Tournament, he couldn't help but join. He had once been a champion himself and sought to regain that status. He would be facing a great Jedi Master in his own right, Sirius "Deadeye Duncan" Venn. Dex had no idea why he was called Deadeye Duncan, but it sure as hell sounded cool.

He could hear the rumbling of footsteps around, heavy and shaking the earth around him. Not only would he be fighting Duncan here, but a Rancor would be joining them. Nothing too large of a problem, unless size is a factor. He ignited his famous green lightsaber and stood waiting, a little rusty from his extended time off.

I shall.

A figure from the distant past stepped out from the fog surrounding him and took a quick gaze at his foe. His left eye whizzed and made a few clicks as it recognized Dexon and his lightsaber as the only other two sources of heat in the vicinity. Duncan knew otherwise, however; he knew a rancor beast would be here to join them soon.

The master was dressed in ratty, torn brown robes that were a size too small for him. They were obviously the same robes he'd had as a Padawan. His tunic wasn't laced properly and his boots were tarnished. Across his chest was strapped a bandoleer with perhaps the only thing about Duncan that didn't look like it was new; nine lightsabers sat one after the other and gleamed despite the murky light.

As for Deadeye himself, he was a wreck, too. He hadn't shaved in a few days and his hair was ragged and oily from not having been taken care of for a while. He wasn't too tall and obviously thin underneath his robes. He sort of slumped as he stood there, taking in all the sights around him. Frankly, they were kind of boring.

"Any terms for the fight before I kick your ass? I don't really want to hear any whining, so don't come crying when you say I cheated."

*Dex watched as Duncan stumbled through the forest. With the beard and tattered everythings, he kinda looked like a bum, straight from the streets of Coruscant. Frankly, he was surprised he couldn't smell some kind of liquor from across the way. The only thing that Dex was worried about in this fight was Duncan's crazy nine-lightsaber telepathy attack. THat would be a problem.*

"Come now, my friend, don't the Jedi have any respect for their opponents anymore?"

*The man was apparently not a Jedi anymore, at least not in style. When he was the Grandmaster, such look would never be tolerated in the order.*

"I'd rather if you didn't use all of those lightsabers. I'm old now."

Duncan gave him a shrewd look, wrinkling one of his eyebrows and tsking as he shook his head.

"Oh come on man, I'm older than you! But if you insist, I won't use all of them."

Duncan slowly reached to his bandoleer, pulled off the entire thing and threw it down to the ground. Nine silver lightsabers lay on the ground before the two of them. Fortunately, Duncan still had two at each hip holster, one at each shoulder holster, one at each ankle holster, and four attatched to his back. And two blasters, for good measure. He spread his arms and held his hands palms-up, so one could see the gloves he'd cut the fingers out of.

"Satisfied?"

ooc: LOL who carries 19 lightsabers? :unworthy:

"Sure, why not."

*Dex was almost certain that he had been older than Duncan while he was still with the Jedi, maybe there was a time warp somewhere. Either way, if Duncan was his elder now, perhaps he was just as rusty and wouldn't be able to use his likely hidden weapons as he used to. Dex held his lightsaber in the Ataru position as he heard the Rancor nearing closer and closer.*

"Let's do this."

Duncan cleared his mind of all the thoughts rambling through them as he decided it was time to focus on the battle at hand. He crouched lower and with a flick of his wrists, drew two lightsaber hilts. He ignited them immediately as a brilliant green blade spurted forth and twirled them haphazardly as he did so. It was a display that Duncan had gotten into the habit of doing NOT because he thought it would intimidate one such as Kyjar, but because it helped him get into the fighting mindset.

The first thing Deadeye noticed was the Ataru form Dex had taken. The aggressive stance. If that was how it was going to be, so be it. He kept himself on his toes, and flipped his blades downwards as he slipped himself into the Makashi stance. In this way he'd see what his opponent had to offer before the rancor came. Deadeye nodded his head once towards Kyjar, an obvious sign that he was ready for the fight.

*Dex had been living on the planet a while with little to no practice fighting. All he had left to rely on was his hope that he was still able to use his lightsaber well and his flawless knowledge of Ataru. However, since he was so out of shape and judging by the looks of his opponent, they both were, he wanted to start off easy. No wild flips and jumping for a while, at least until he got the hang of things again.

He began walking towards Duncan, spinning his lightsaber around in his hand, only holding the inside rather than having his hands chopped off by the razor sharp edge on the hilt. When he got close enough he spun around to increase his momentum and then attack Duncan's shoulder with the blade almost parallel to the ground.*

The Makashi form was perfect for countering such a powerful attack, and Duncan took full advantage of the form's strengths. He saw the spin move, but instead of trying to dodge the blow, he waited until the last possible second, then with a flick of his wrist brought his right-hand saber up to bat Dexon's own out his path.

With his second saber, Duncan took a quick sweep across Dexon's hip, trying to score a quick glancing blow. After parrying the first attack, he brought his right-hand saber back towards him and held it defensively, ready to defend against the next attack.

Yes

*With the way that Dex had attacked Duncan, he had his lightsaber in a perfect position to block the incoming attack with a simple turn of the blade. He then watched as Duncan's other lightsaber remained in a defensive position, a very formidable stance when proficient in wielding two blades at once. Dex knew that this would indeed be a long fight.

He pulled back for a second, analyzing the situation. After realizing that his opponent's defenses were too tough at this point in the fight to break through, he brought his lightsaber down by his side and held onto it with one hand. He looked at Duncan for a second or two, then thrust out his free hand, using a powerful force wave.*

Arr'grah smiled. Well, he smiled if it was possible for rancors. He did the rancor equivalent, I guess is what I'm trying to say. That, however, is not very reassuring, as the beasts mighty fangs stuck out in horrible directions making it more of a loose growl. Rancor's were weird.

Anyway, he jumped up, to signal his presence. The ground began to shake as he lumbered over to the two insignificant specs of dirt battling away at each other below. While the were definitely different, they looked, smelled, and probably tasted exactly the same. Except for the glowing swords, they looked absolutely delicious.

Arr'grah, himself, had what looked to be a small fighter strapped to his back like a jetpack. But that wasn't the strange thing. It seemed to be filled with gizka! But enough with introductions, Arr'grah feeling he had soaked in his surrounding enough, charged at the two, hopping to smash them under his feet and be done with it.

The Force Wave caught Duncan off guard and he flew back twenty feet or so before his foot caught some fallen wood and he tripped, falling onto his back. The pain stretched down from the back of his neck to his tailbone, but he didn't let that bother him; a Jedi's life was suffering.

The Jedi Master got up in a hurry, his lightsabers in a defensive position, though that was probably unnecessary. Though he didn't come to realize it until a few seconds later, the Force Wave had served to push Duncan completely out of the rancor's path while Dexon would hopefully remain in the beast's path. Or under it. Not waiting to see which it was, Duncan used his own Force powers to give himself Master Force Valor and Master Speed, both of which would come in handy for the fight ahead.
