Anyone interested in a(nother) Divine RP? I've got some fresh ideas I want to try out.
Twice the Earth was ruled by the Gods, and twice it fell into complete ruin. When the minds of the divine came into disagreement, the earth shook and tore asunder from the conflicts that followed. So, when all was said and done, those remaining Gods came together and decided to place the great Ban on themselves, forbidding the deities to walk the earth in corporeal form. And so the gods went forth and created their own planes of dwelling, great halls, cities and caverns where they could dwell and look upon the Earth, and interfere and influence it in subtle ways.
Peace lasted for many centuries, but it was a temporary thing, as all things are. More ambitious gods began to look into ways into bypassing the Ban and walking the Earth much more. With the Ban in place, they would be almost unopposed. However, the Ban was more deadly than expected. Defying it directly caused those of the Divine who were foolish enough to try to cease to exist, so powerful was the protection on Earth. However, the most cunning of gods came to discover while they could not walk the earth, they could empower their followers to such an extent that, should they wish to, the Divine could possess them and rule from a mortal shell. But it was not without weakness, for the Divine could then be killed like any other mortal, and those gods who chose to do so became wary and paranoid of their enemies...
But there were others who watched on, and learned from the mistakes of these most ambitious ones, and sent forth only a portion of their power to a particular figure, empowering them with the power of the divine, but not influencing their minds. In essence, however, the divinity came to reside within the mortal shell of the Chosen mortal, and so too their fates became linked.
So, the Gods prepared for war for a third time, and all creatures mundane and magical returned to the lines of battle, and the banners of the Old Gods were held high and with pride once more as the Divine once more plummeted their followers into chaos and ruin...
