Elohim
-theme-

"Oh man, just imagine if you just stop thinking about it and, I don't know...do it?"

Elohim is a thief hailing from the city-world of Taris. A street-rat orphan for as long as he remembers, he honed his skills by stealing and causing headaches for the various swoop gangs and eventually working his way up to the more organized crime syndicates on the planet. He is a survivalist in spirit, a trait that pairs well with his love and yearn to see and explore the Galaxy and it's inhabitants... that and usually he gets himself into such a mess he has to leave.

A highly charismatic and fun-loving free spirit would be the best way to describe the thieving smuggler, though many put it more bluntly: a crazy ass spacer. But this fun-loving nature didn't fit very well in a world full of criminal scum who's idea of "fun" was killing one another. Having been alone for the majority of his life, he had to learn how to adjust and survive on a planet of trillions of beings too busy to care about a single street orphan, but he's always kept a rather cheery disposition. He's lived a long time among the scum of the planet Taris, and came to a basic conclusion: being broke ain't so bad. If you steal, that is. Elohim doesn't process the idea of having "personal possession", if he wanted it or needed it, he went out and got it: regardless who had it. And he was damned good at getting things. Good enough for the local gangs to try and use him to their advantages, but it usually ended up in Elohim pissing them off in one way or another. Despite this, he made friends even amongst his own targets, primarily because of his laid back and highly apologetic nature.

However the same lack for material possession is usually what get's him out of trouble - always moving and never fighting over "things". This eventually grew into a reputation on Taris viewing Elohim as nothing more than a coward, worse yet, a thieving coward. But names and titles don't mean much to the thief, all the same, so long as he was left alone to do what he wanted to do, and he does. His only goal in life is to travel and see what the Galaxy has to offer. Despite his wide-eyed wonder he is largely ignorant of the Galaxy, customs, and political affairs - so he often comes off as an idiot. But Elohim isn't opposed to learning, he just isn't that interested and no one has really shared much interest in showing him. But what he lacks in galactic affairs, he makes up with incredible street smarts and common sense. He doesn't care much for credits either, and generally loves to take the more crazier smuggling jobs, regardless of the pay, earning him a reputation as a "suicide artist". He's been known to throw his credits around like crazy, having little to no attachment to them. That's partially why he became a smuggler in the first place, his yearn for a thrill, not much for the credits.

Biography

Taris
Elohim doesn't remember too much about his childhood, but what he does remember was that it was pretty good, all things considered. Matter of fact, as far as Elohim is concerned, not much has changed - life is good. It always is. Elohim never met his parents, what they looked like, or what their story was, all he knew was that the people that ran his orphanage were really good people, oh yeah, and they used to be pirates. The "orphanage", if it could be called that, was composed primarily of children from war torn worlds near the border that the pirates sort of "stumbled into". Elohim never bothered much to find out much of their history, all he knew was that they were good people and tried their best to raise the small group of orphaned children into some functioning dysfunctional family. E wasn't the most easy kid to deal with though: too hyper, energetic, and he would often run away. Elohim on the other hand considered it exploring, Taris was a giant world and he wanted to see just how vast it really was. From a young age, the orphan's sticky fingers found their way into every vendor he came across at one point of another. At first it was a few local fruit vendors, eventually he moved up to more expensive and exotic things - snack foods for example! Anything to sustain himself, and never more than he needed to.

As an orphan, he didn't really grow to the question of why he didn't have parents or why they weren't around, he was far too busy being curious about exploring and learning as much as he could about his surrounding. He did relatively great living on the streets, rarely going hungry, and rarely being caught for his thefts. His skills eventually caught the attention of some local swoop gang, interested in the orphan, took him under their "care". Interested in his skills, Elohim only agreed to join because they let him ride their swoop. Stupid gang, huh? Well, you can pretty much guess what he did with the swoop bike. Stole it, sold it, and made his way back to the orphanage with a nice pay day for the rest of the group. It was a pretty good hustle for him, easy as Hell too. If he ran into any serious trouble however, he had the shield of his pirate parents to ward off the weak swoopers.

Hey, What About Me?
Elohim eventually grew in popularity and notoriety among the swoop gangs, in-so-much that the more organized crime groups took note of the budding thief. His connection with the pirates only helped his allure grow. However a kleptomaniac of Elohim's caliber would gain very little trust and even hostility in some crime circles. The braver of these however tried to reign in the thief, often allowing him to keep whatever it was that he stole, all he had to do was steal. It was an easy gig for a year or two, but eventually his targets got larger and more dangerous.

His last "task" on Taris though had forced him to leave the planet for a good while. It was a pretty simple job really, steal a shipment of extremely rare and powerful spice from Wild Space and sell it to this very specific doctor who had use for it. Elohim rarely worked with spice or drugs in general, but he had felt a little ballsy that week. He hadn't accounted that he'd be stealing from a Hutt though, and a pretty powerful one at that. It didn't make his job easier, but it sure wasn't too much different from his usual jobs. Take the item, make the drop, and wake up a few days later with a nice fat case with credits in them. But, this particular Hutt had a few other enemies vying to steal this rare case of spice besides only Elohim. And these thieves, well they were much more organized and well-armored than Elohim could ever hope to be. The firefight over the single case of spice turned into a bloodbath, one Elohim narrowly avoided dipping into. While the two groups mowed each other down, the human moved into the vessel which housed the spice, spending his time trying to search for it - the half-dead Hutt clung to the last bit of life while retreating back to it's ship. Trapped, the human stowed aboard the ship as it made it's way back to Nar Shaddaa. The Hutt clung for it's life while on route to it's homeworld, but it succumbed to it's injuries and died midway to the seedy criminal world.

When he arrived on Nar Shaddaa however he'd find no friends and no connections on how to exactly get back to Taris and his ship no doubt brought some eyes to him given his ship's usual cargo. He'd soon find himself with a bounty on his head not only on Taris but in Nar Shaddaa too. With little place else to go, Elohim began his life as a smuggler.

The Soul Breaks Down Border Lines
Elohim managed to sell the Hutt's vessel and luckily enough Nar Shaddaa's vastness made it a rather easy place to hide while the initial heat of the bounty died down. Being in a world where no one knew you or cared for you made it easy to hide and stay to one's self. But in light of Elohim's bounty, his "family" set out to look for him, going so far as to arriving on Nar Shaddaa and causing quite the scene for the teen boy. Though a series of events the boy found himself being dragged back by his pirate parentals and headed back to Taris. It was there where he was given a simple choice: stop his charades, or learn how to pilot a ship. His parents figured his onlyform of surviving would be in the stars. He had already proven he had the skills and the abilities to survive on his own, so he jumped at the thought of being encouraged to travel and experience a whole new set of worlds besides his own.

After only a few months of learning the basics of ship handling and navigation, the thief became a novice smuggler. His first "job" was relatively simple: return the spice he stole and clear his bounty against the Hutt. It went pretty much smoothly, a Hutt's death meant very little if compensation was given - at least in the eyes of the Kajidi. He went on to do a few more jobs, getting his feet wet, mainly working around populated criminal worlds, Elohim felt comfortable enough to call himself a smuggler. It wasn't a meteoric rise to fame, or even a humble or honest job, but it fun.

Same Ol' Bop, Same Ol' Beat
Years went on and Elohim made a name for himself as a pilot and thief, the smuggling sort of a way to keep food on the table and the ship running in decent enough shape. He eventually got wind of a collective of smugglers calling themselves the Smuggler's Association, a group he naturally sort of just fell into.
