Drom Rekkin Character Plot I

1. What is going to happen in your plot?

Drom Rekkin will work with a few members to expand his repair shop both physically and by reputation. It will aim to add a warehouse to its operation and remove Drom’s competition.

2. What other players will be a part of this?

3. Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place?

The threads will all take place on Nar Shaddaa, in the lower industrial sector.

4. Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.
Thread 1: Hostile Takeover -
Gudjon & Sons is a small arms shop run by the Gudjon family. On the street they are known as the Crimson Akk Dogs, who are primarily gun runners. They have threatened both Drom and his customers in the past. After Drom hears that they followed up on one of their threats, he decides to take matters into his own hands with the help of two hired guns.

Thread 2: Cleaning House -
The Venta Shipping warehouse is an unused warehouse sitting adjacent to the Rekkin Repairs workshop. Drom has had his eye on it ever since he set up. With the new cash flow from the removal of Gudjon & Sons, he finally purchases it. The toydarian owner informs him that the warehouse is currently filled with waste and that something lurks in the refuse. Drom takes a friends or two to investigate.

Thread 3: Mechanic’s Little Helpers -
Drom hears of an abandoned droid factory located deeper into Nar Shaddaa’s core. Thinking it would be cheaper to activate some forgotten mech droids that buy them, he takes a friend to explore. It seems that not everything is offline in the factory.


5. What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"?

Drom hopes to eliminate his competition and become the go to repair shop in the industrial sector of Nar Shaddaa. With the addition of a warehouse he would be eager to expand his inventory of weapons and armor parts. He would also begin to entertain the idea of setting up the foundation of starting a small manufacturing operation. To have that fully set up I will have him start another plot should this one succeed.

6. Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose.

No involvement from canon NPCs or faction leaders.

Heyo, @Rekkin!

Very nice plot you have here. However, I will say that I can't see Rekkin Repairs becoming a galactic manufacturing company just by seizing a warehouse. Even if you could, such a company would likely require both a write-up and your character to be at least Level 2 to own said company. It would be better off if you remain as just that single location, Rekkin Repairs, but with more space and tools.

Baby steps, man. Baby steps.

The Toasted Twi'lek, for instance, took part in a slew of different threads and plots to just even begin expanding beyond Nar Shaddaa. The ideal end to this plot would likely be Rekkin Repairs just getting a renovation and expansion, nothing like a major shift in influence or something. But, it doesn't mean you won't be gaining any new influence, because you will. Just perhaps not how you may have hoped.

Like, Rekkin could be going from fixing rusted blasters to ships, which could act as an opportunity to expand beyond the planet in another plot, and so on. Something like that. Sorry, I don't mean to be hard or nit-picky here, but member-owned businesses are just extra evaluated to prevent potential abuse.

p.s. opposition write-ups are not necessary, neither for other NPC's. Only thing that requires a write-up is your storefront/warehouse, which I see has not yet been approved. Also, a concrete list of participants isn't necessary just so long as you actually have someone. And, it is a lot more preferable if someone else could DM opposition for you. Could be anyone other than staff too, as the Storyteller account is open to all.

First off thank you for all the input. I guess I didn’t make it clear in my post, but I totally understand that one plot would definitely not make Drom a galactic enterprise player.

What I had meant to say was that when Drom reaches level 4, if ever, and has a bazillion points he could be a CEO of something that big. That's what I incorrectly assumed was meant by describe your character's endgame.

The intention of the plot is solely:

1. What is going to happen in your plot?

Plot goal: Rekkin Repairs, owned by Drom Rekkin expands its storefront and inventory.

I do like the bit you suggested that with the acquisition of a warehouse could allow him to move to vehicles and ships maybe. But yes he will definitely still be local. His clientele maybe increases to be coming from nearby Nar Shaddaa sectors, instead of being a no name hole in the wall.

Just for organization I can always reply to this thread with the names of people in my participating in the plot threads, if you’d like. It may help you guys with monitoring, let me know!

And I will definitely try to get someone else to Dm for me. Now correct me if I am wrong. Can I make a thread in the Story OOC with all the plot threads fleshed out and have people sign up for them?

Heyo, @Rekkin.

Edits should be reflected in the original post, but I see now where you're going at! Three threads, all of which with DM'd opposition, for a warehouse that should only amount to an expanded facility for your upstart local business? Looks perfectly fine to me.

Also, you're more than welcome to throw out an interest check in the Story OoC. No need to ask! As for a list of participants, also not necessary so long as they are mentioned when you complete and submit the plot. Also, no need for any write-ups save for the additional warehouse you'll be taking, which could just be edited into your original Rekkin Repairs lore submission and re-evaluated by @Malon. Or, you can just re-submit another one if that's easier. Doesn't matter to me.

Just make the appropriate edits (i.e. won't be expanding offworld, who might be DM'ing) and this submission should be good to go. I do recommend members like @BlackJack or @Darasuum for DM'ing, as I know they're quite capable. Or, anyone of your choosing. Or, again, any one of us plot staff.
