Honestly, I can't be the only SWRPer who is hyped for this.

Hyped? Or disappointed that they're finally giving us the product we thought we bought several years ago?

lol yeahhhh but it does look like it might almost make up for what Battlefront lacked... the graphics are heaps better, and they seem to be adding a lot of other new features.

Make up for what Battlefront lacked, except they're charging full price for what should have been sold as DLC. This reminds me of the trickle down economics I was taught in school, I feel literally pee'd on by EA.

Then again, nothing new there.

TBH, I'm just happy to play as my droids again "WATCH OUT FOR THOSE WRIST ROCKETS!" Indeed watch out for them, because they're coming for you republic dogs XD....they also confirmed no season pass or paid DLC, which is great, but yeah I agree, the first EA battlefront should've had what were seeing in 2. Here's a fun fact: EA Battlefront 1 had a story mode that was cut due to time restraints and wanting to release near episode 7, another fun fact: they say all eras, but there's no old republic era, THEY'RE ALREADY LYING TO US!

Looks disappointing.

But to be disappointing, it has to have potential in the first place, which I haven't seen in a bit from an EA game. So that's a good thing, I guess.

It's usually tough to not be very excited about a new Star Wars game. But when EA is involved it is suprisingly easy. Nevertheless, I have been frequently looking into news about the game and hoping they will make a genuine effort to make up for their first take on the Battlefront franchise. Promising all era's was a decent start.

I'm mostly interested in this because the campaign story will be considered part of the official Star Wars canon. So whatever we see there will be set in stone as what happens in the actual story post-RotJ leading up to slightly before TFA as it has been hinted (by doing a little reading between the lines with the BF 2 reveal trailer and some scenes in TFA) that the campaign will include the Battle of Jakku, where the Empire made it's last stand, and conclude somewhere around the time Starkiller Base was completed.

So I'm fairly interested in seeing how they intend to rewrite the vast majority of post-RotJ EU material we've all become so familiar with, while also introducing us to a story that provides more insight into the rise of the First Order.

Looks great, although I'd prefer if they didn't just show Maul, Yoda and Rey. Makes me scared that the other heroes will be behind some paywall. :)

The game is shaping up quite well in my eyes, in any case. All I need are some good reviews and I'll be willing to commit to this game.

Apparently EA has already confirmed that all post-launch heroes, weapons and maps will be free - source. That's not to say they won't lock additional heroes behind a pay wall like they did with the first Battlefront. But at least Battlefront 2 is looking like it might have more robust content at launch than its predecessor.

Personally, I'm happy to see Captain Phasma as a playable hero for the First Order. Was somewhat fretting they might have decided to cut her from the game for one reason or another.

Overall though, that gameplay looks solid, and I'm beyond glad they are going back to a class based system. No more maps full of Stormtroopers and Rebels leap frogging around with jet packs. I am curious to see how they intend to implement customization for classes though, as that is something they have said will be a feature but have yet to release any details on.

I have not played the original Battlefront, but Battlefront II's gameplay doesn't look that much different than the original. Even so, I'm definitely looking forward to the game since it's shaping up to be a more robust title: in fact, I just used the free 7-day Origin Access to pre-order the game at the (admittedly small) discount.

@Gamov — Good to hear. They're at least trying to connect with the community and make up for their mistakes in the last game.

Well... I guess I'm buying this game. Though seeing Rey and Boba Fett fight among Clones and Battle Droids was... odd, I'm sure it was for display and showing off purposes only. But if you can mix and match factions and characters in timelines like they did here... that would be... fun.
