Alright, before anyone jumps on me for the numbers of my armed forces, let me state that it's only 14 million personnel out of a population of 11.5 billion, which is much less than 1% of the population of Eudemonia. I think this is a reasonable figure considering the scope of the Star Wars galaxy.
I'll also state that Eudemonia is structured like a proper nation state, as opposed to many of the civilizations in Star Wars. It also has a rather complex backstory which will be revealed in due time through RP, and a complex government/economy which I will detail in full when I have some more time. I will also be posting a full list of Eudemonian military units/hardware and technical specifications, in addition to a full list of high ranking military commanders. I'll also take this oppurtunity to announce I will accept applications for the Order of Arcanii and the military structure of Eudemonia, you can message me at EevilCommieMan on AIM for Eudemonia, and you can contact my brother at Caliburnis X on AIM for Arcanii Order.

History:

“And to those who decry the system as out of the natural order, I ask them: What order of human design is natural? The building beneath our feet and over our heads, the food we eat, and the water from the processing facility that we drink. Is this natural? All of our systems are, in essence, contrary to nature and the natural order, as it is our natural aspiration to change our environment to better suit our wishes. As such, without the inhibitions of an imaginary natural order thrust upon us, what is stopping the creation of a perfect, and yet wholly artificial human society? Nothing, I say.”

-Savilliy vur Arcanni, “Natural Order and the Thinking Animal”

The Republic of Estok has occupied the Estok system and the nine planets within, including the planet of Rostok for no less than 300 years. Originally a monarchy, the Republic of Estok was founded after a lengthy civil war, supported mainly by the growing and increasingly disenfranchised merchant class of the population. Unfortunately for the revolutionaries in question, after several years of conflict both sides had fought each other to a standstill and there was no other choice but to agree to a mutual peace and moderate government in the spirit of both respective parties. As a result, much of the social and economic infrastructure of Estok and Rostok has been patchwork at best. Many historians have theorized that the revolutionaries failure to completely overtake the government was largely due to the failure of the Galactic Republic to intervene on their behalf, thus enabling the loyalist forces to further entrench themselves and muster whatever they could, which was evidently enough to buy critical time.

Since then the Republic of Estok has suffered from widespread corruption and stagnation, and an already large disparity between the rich and poor has grown that much more palpable since the devastation of the Mandalorian Wars, making their far flung area of the galaxy (The closest known celestial body being Rattatak) seem that much farther from the rest of civilization. This, obviously, has strained whatever trading economy there was to the breaking point, causing the central government of Estok to agree upon an extensive mining operation on their sister planet Rostok.

This action, born from desperation, was to plant the very seeds of Estok’s destruction, and the birth of a new nation: Eudemonia.

With the extensive mining operations came the discovery of the remnants of an ancient underground city, long since abandoned and completely shielded from the citizens of Rostok. While this was a stunning enough discovery, it paled in comparison to an almost perfectly preserved library written in a variant of Common peculiar to this civilization. Scholars and academics of the Estokian Republic flooded to the library, forming research committees in conjunction with mining teams to try and unearth as many of the documents as possible. The various organizations eventually formed a larger, more cohesive body called the Arcanii, who were inspired by a large series of writings from something or someone called the Arcanii, whose writings outlined various technologies and methods previously unheard of, the main point of which was an outlining of a supposedly “perfect” society. The influence of the Arcanii and the appeal of their message spread like wildfire to the various sectors of the populations of Estok and Rostok, who had grown tired of the failed system and longed for a dramatic change. After a brief run for political offices were undermined and votes for the Arcanii influenced “Unity Party” completely disregarded, reportedly due to a landslide in the popular vote, the Arcanii’s political tactics quickly turned violent and revolutionary, eventually precipitating a short but exceedingly violent civil war some seven years ago.

Having popular support and the influence of most of the academic, scientific, and a good deal of the military sectors, the conclusion was forgone. The Republic of Estok was finished after just a few months of widespread conflict, and all members of the previous political system who did not swear allegiance to the will of the Arcanii and the Perfect Vision put to death, along with all members of the previous economic infrastructure.

The Council of Arcanii, now having full control of the Estok system, implemented a set of policies fully restructuring the economy and social infrastructure of the former republic, dubbing this new nation as Eudemonia. Since the formation of Eudemonia, the society has seen dramatic restructuring of urban society along with massive and total automation of as many industries and agricultural areas that would permit such an advance. Much of this, in fact, is still going today, and you can still see the great spires of Estok’s urban areas being scrapped and sent into the great Hubs. The Hub, now being the center of Eudemonian life, is essentially an underground city in proximity to underground manufacturing and agricultural areas, connected to other underground cities via above ground and underground rail lines. This, being the only permitted form of structure in Eudemonia, has been increasingly replacing the above ground cities that are the hallmark of previous civilizations.

In addition to these urban advances, most trade with outsiders has almost entirely ceased, the Eudemonian government structuring their entire society on self-sufficiency. All materials and goods used by Eudemonians are made by the automated facilities, and there have been great efforts to try and make as many goods with as many common materials as possible. As such, even the military has seen a dramatic structural change, reportedly going from a relatively short-range force that primarily relied upon blasters to a force that uses an electromagnetic rail system for most of their weaponry, in addition to missiles. There have also been reports of mechanized suits being the main-stay of the Eudemonian army, although this is largely unsubstantiated, and due to the secrecy in which this social revolution is under, most likely will not be confirmed in the near future. It should also be noted that the nation of Eudemonia does indeed have a small navy, although the technical capabilities of this force are as of yet unknown.

Government Structure:

The basic governmental structure of Eudemonia still has ties to the representative republic of the previous government, with the only major difference being the Filos, or Philosophers, who act as the executive body instead of an elected official. These individuals are typically part of the Arcani Council and ideally will have spent no less than ten years in The Academy. These individuals pass or veto decisions made by the Representative Council and make the larger macro level decisions of Eudemonia. In addition to the Filos, there is also the Arcanii Order, a secret military order in service of Eudemonia and answerable only to the Filos and Council. This organization is composed of both an internal and foreign intelligence service, and a branch for internal political policing called The Integritus. The Arcanii Order, being an extension of the Arcanii Council, have very close ties to the ideology, and tend to live by these rules to an almost monastic degree.

All economic activity is also undertaken and controlled by the Council and Filos, who supervise the Economic Board. Since supply and demand is largely charted by the entirely networked factories and distribution facilities, it is their primary task to build new factories/distrib. facilities, maintain existing ones, and ensure economic stability and fairness.

Beliefs:

The primary belief structure of Eudemonia is centered on the Arcanii Council, an ancient set of manuscripts and documents detailing technologies and social structures and the means to utilize these for a “perfect” society. This ancient council has inspired another council in recent years that overthrew the Republic of Estok and replaced it with their Perfect Vision. Much of the text is classified and only the highest-ranking members of the Council have access to the entirety of the documents, although from what is currently available can paint a reasonably accurate picture of their ideological structure.

Most of this revolves around the concept of the self and improvement of the self for the society as a whole. This is largely achieved through going beyond “animalistic instincts” having to do with basic functions. Presumably, with these needs entirely fulfilled the individual can go on to higher mental functions and see beyond themselves for the benefit of the group. As most menial labor in Eudemonia does not exist, members of the society can go on to higher pursuits, especially since their basic needs are taken care of.

Generally speaking, the Eudemonians are making a collectivistic society, and hold the group over the individual. However, much of this structure is based upon personal desire and want, so there is an individualistic aspect to it as well. Much of the ideology, according to public documents, also centers on the belief that the Eudemonian system is the new civilization, and all other previous systems are inherently flawed. Despite this, the society is not overtly militaristic, although there exists a very real potential for this to occur.

Locations:

Eudemonia primarily occupies Estok and Rostok, with some mining facilities and outposts on the other seven planets and moons in their system. The basic breakdown of the planets is as follows:

Arem- First planet closest to the yellow sun of the system. No bases or mining operations due to the extreme temperatures on the planet surface. No moons

Karm- Very high surface temperatures and a very thick and lethal atmosphere. Large mineral deposits have been detected on the planet, and while there are no mining operations or outposts on the planet, the Economic Board has deemed expansion on the planet a priority. No moons

Estok- The most populated and heavily built up planet in the system, Estok forms the backbone of Eudemonia. The planet is currently undergoing extensive urbanate construction under the new Eudemonia Urban Plan, in addition to automation of industry and agriculture. The environment is hospitable to life, with temperatures about ten degrees lower than the galactic mean for green planets. The total industrial and agricultural output of Estok contributes to about 90% of Eudemonia’s economic structure. The total population of Estok is around ten billion. Has two moons with minimum mining facilities located on them, and scattered colonies containing about 500 million people.

Rostok- Considered Estok’s sister planet due to their relatively close proximity to each other, it is somewhat smaller than Estok and has a much colder climate, though there is still a breathable atmosphere. There are a number of mining operations here, left over from the previous government. They are currently being streamlined and automated in conjunction to the colony system being restructured to follow the Eudemonian Urbanate plan. Population is about 850 million. Has three moons with no mining or colonies.

Menulis- A giant rocky planet with very little atmosphere and extremely low temperatures. With only marginal mining activity despite its large deposits of ore and no colonies to speak of, it was extremely neglected under the previous government. However, the Eudemonian Economic Board has declared Minulis a priority planet alongside Karm, and much more mining activity is expected to take place. Has an array of moons and smaller rocky celestial bodies, with no less than 6 different moons and in upwards of twelve smaller satellites

Triglav- Gas giant of the Estok system, of marginal value to Eudemonia, aside from it’s twelve moons which are contained in the economic development strategy proposed by the Board. Completely uninhabited

Tuoni- A large planet almost entirely composed of various liquid metals with a think, noxious atmosphere. Stated to be a goal of the Board to harvest whatever resources they can from the liquid metal planet, once suitable methods of extraction and transportation can be formulated. Have several satellites, but no fully formed moons. Completely uninhabited

Kipu-Tytto- A smaller gaseous-liquid planet with a similar atmosphere to Tuoni. Uninhabited. Two small moons.

Tuonetar- Small icy planet on the outskirts of the system, with no colonies or mines, and no satellites.

Forces: A detailed list of units will be completed eventually, complete with pictures.

Army- Tasked with defending the territories of Eudemonia against foreign threats and enforcing colonial expansion.
20 fronts, composed of 500,000 personnel each, totaling to about ten million total army personnel. Eudemonia follows a traditional military structure aside from the two highest tiers of command, which has a single front command around 500,000 personnel, and regional groups commanding about one million personnel. Around half of the fronts are at a low level of readiness, with the other half at a much higher level of readiness. Eudemonia is also attempting to manufacture massive amounts of military equipment and maintain this hardware through a cadre reserve system, although as of this writing it has not yet occurred. It should also be noted that Eudemonia is maintaining sizeable stockpiles of hardware in storage facilities to enable a more fluid use of military equipment and provide as much logistical support as possible.

Navy- Oversees water and space based naval vessels for national defense and colonial expansion.
The Eudemonian navy has about 12 military-class vessels that meet the current specifications, with a multitude of older vessels from the Republican period being scrapped for ongoing ship building projects of the Estok shipyards, which are undergoing renovation themselves. The current breakdown of the ships are as follows: 1 carrier, 2 cruisers, 3 missile destroyers, and 6 frigates, just enough for a cohesive battle group. In addition to military grade vessels, there are also many Eudemonian era and Estok Republic era transports and cargo ships, many of which are under very low priority for recycling or upgrading.

Air Force- Tasked with defending the atmospheric airspace of Eudemonian planets.
Consists of about 40 Air Force Commands spread across Estok, Rostok, and Menulis, with a total of 8,000 aircraft and over 400,000 personnel. About a quarter of the current air force is of Eudemonian design, with the rest going back to the Republican era, many of which are simply modifications of aircraft from other parts of the galaxy. These aircraft are being scrapped in increasingly large numbers and replaced by aircraft of Eudemonian design.

Civil Protection Service- Military organization tasked with peacekeeping of Eudemonian territories.
Personnel total about 2 million, spread across commands in the inhabited areas of Eudemonia.

Funding:

Funding comes from the centralized economy of Eudemonia, which supplies the armed forces of Eudemonia with equipment and supplies the soldiers and other associated personnel with credits to purchase goods. As the credit system is an internal one, and has no value outside of Eudemonia, the credits can only be used to buy Eudemonian products. In essence, the state provides the material support for every aspect of the military, just as it does for civilians.

Goals:

Short Term- Short term goals consist of the full colonization and resource exploitation of the Estok system, and the entire restructuring of Eudemonian society and economic infrastructure. Full modernization of the military is also of the utmost importance, and like the rest of the economy, is undergoing rapid transformation. There is also an interest in the colonization of other systems, which would also undergo the same rapid transformation seen in the Estok system.

Long Term- Acquisition of several systems, utilizing the same rapid “reconstruction” process that has proven to be extremely successful in the Estok system. Preferably these areas would also be populated, to add to the limited sapient species resource pool. Exploration of new and innovative technologies to bypass technical limitations that have plagued many previous nations.

APD, I think I have to disband Eudemonia, actually. It recently came to my attention that large scale actions on the part of nations are not allowed, so Eudemonia really doesn't have a purpose anymore.

Wait, who were you planning on attacking? Can't you just adapt to the rule or something? I mean, I would hate to see you disband this after all of the work that was put into it. I'd much rather see it adapt to this circumstance.

It's kind of pointless to RP a nation if you're stuck in a static state. I should know, as it's been enforced on some other boards before. As such, I'm gonna have to disband Eudemonia and do something else. Likewise, Josh is gonna have to disband the Arcanii or turn them to something else. It's not really a big deal.

Who were you planning on attacking? If it's just large NPC battles, then you're allowed to do that. We were talking about member against member battles.

Problem is that realistically Eudemonia would be up against the Sith or the Republic eventually, so it'd be extremely constraining and unrealistic to just stop. On a more personal level, just attacking NPC stuff is..quite boring. There's little point to it.

Yeah, essentially that's it. Attacking NPC planets is exceedingly boring, and there isn't any diplomatic or military tension to it as nobody really cares. And eventually the various factions, as they develop, are going to fight with eachother. If that's not allowed, then it's fine, but I don't wanna RP a neutered nation. As stated before, I'll just disband Eudemonia and try to find something else.

I think you should just adapt this faction and rewrite some things to fit around this circumstance. It would be ashame for all of this work to go to waste.

Point One: You really can't change a nation so that it will never get into conflicts. That's an arbitrary imposition on a nation and there's really no point for actual nations if that's in place. We're not questioning the rule, but if that's the rule, that's the rule so we're not going to RP a nation.

Point Two: That's an artificial solution. We might as well just write a book.

I never said there was anything wrong with that, I've got plans to write books as well, but that's not what we're here for.
