Experiments on Force-sensitives

Are there any factions out there, or can i make one up for my backstory, that experiments on force sensitive species in this current timeline? i may be making a miraluka jedi character that was the subject of some experimentation that may have tampered with her connection with the force. i thought the idea may be fun to explore story-wise as its like teaching someone who is blind how to see or regain their vision. but ill only move forward with this idea if it fits with everything else thats going on in the galaxy.

I believe the Brotherhood, or at least the seedy part of it (@Marf <3) has included varying "experiments" throughout her own characters' backstories.
For example, her alchemist Sadeon. There's also her prior character, Andromeda, who was the product of Sadeon's sadistic enterprise.

I'd say Sadeon would be the first one I can think of, he did the same thing to Nelies as he did Andromeda or at least a similar process of modification.
