"Never announce your moves before you make them."
Lenix peered down intently at a small iridescent screen on her data-pad. The screen showed two aliens, a pale blue Pantoran and a white and brown furred Gotal. The pair seemed to be examining a recent haul and their agitated movements told Lexi they weren't coming to an agreement. She reached over and put her headphones on. The voices of the two aliens came across her head set, "—Nyeah, I don't think that's fair!" came the gruff voice of the Gotal.
"Please, Drull. You can't possibly think your little distraction was worth more that a third of the haul can you?" asked the Pantoran in a heavy inner core accent. The hair on the gotal ruffled visibly as it began to anger.
"Without MY little distraction, Krill, the snatch and grab would have been impossible. So, yes I think my crew deserves a better cut!" snapped Drull.
Krill glared at Drull for a moment before relenting, "Fine, I'll throw in an extra five percent, but that's it! Not another chit, got it?!" The pantoran's pale blue skin had darkened significantly as he'd spoken giving him a very ominous air. Krill carried the presence of a man that enjoyed removing trouble with a blaster bolt rather than words. He was clearly done with the Gotal's games. Drull had unconsciously moved a pace away from Krill. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement. The two shook hands and then Drull hailed two droids to begin gathering his cut of the haul.
Lenix leaned forward squinting in an attempt to make out the smuggled goods, but she couldn't manage it. There were definitely weapons in the cache, but there were other items that looked... weird, no, they looked old. Like really old. What did that mean? Please don't let this be bigger than I thought... she thought as she closed the datapad and looked out the window of her stolen landspeeder.
Lenix looked to the sky and gauged how much daylight she had left. Just over four hours. "Frak..." she mumbled to herself. There was no way she was going to be able to get the drop on the stupid goat dude now. She sat back in her seat and sighed. "What's their next move?" she said. There was no one to hear her of course. Lenix had seen to that. Her argument with Damon may have started this mission, but Lenix's determination was going to see it through to the end. She needed to do a little poking around. Maybe something would crop up in the nearest town.
Resolving that her only option was to drum up some information Lenix fired up the landspeeder's repulsers and shot off toward town.
