I might bring mine back if I can find my profile posts.

A society of lycanthropes who have advanced magic, an island kingdom.

They are kinda like greece, sort of.

Do I need to post my race's government, traits, etc., or do I just wait for this to start? :P

I'll make a profile thread when we get one more person. If Kurtz is gonna participate then we should be good.

How would this work? I mean, is this supposed to be medieval-ish in time period? And is everyone warring with each other and stuff? Because, if I got a bit more info about this and maybe other minor things, I'd like to join.

Ok. Well the Fantasy Nation RP tech would consist of medieval technology. Each nation would have a set of goals that they would work toward. The goals of the nation are whatever the nation's leader wants them to be. World domination, enslavement, eradication, peace, you choose. Alliances, trade, and war would be the main way to work toward these goals.

What about magic? We need to have limits on magic powers or people can easily make their nation overpowered.

Yeah no magic at all. No Valar, Istari, or any other magical beings that are basicly gods. No magic.

Not cool.

fantasy implies magic. Magic doesn't have to be overpowered, as long as it comes with checks and balances, or costs.

The whole idea of a lot of fantasy things are magical. Dragons, lycanthropes... etc...

Well nothing like they shoot fireballs from their hands or they can summon lightning from random places. no OD magic. Lycans are fine cause they just turn into werewolves. Dragons are magical beasts. They breathe fire thats what dragons do. Both of those are natural abilities.

Sprites are impossible without Magic, as their whole premise revolves around being able to magically govern the Elements (to a limit of course).

Example: Flame Sprites use thermal energy to hover, Wind sprites use wind to stay afloat, Water sprites use a sort of evaporation tecnique, and Earth sprites don't really float by themselves, although some have by a rare manipulation of sand.

I object.

Personally, I see magic as remaining prone to the core principle of the conservation of energy/matter/whatnot: magic gives an equal amount of what it takes. To create life, you have to kill, etc.

Well, my people, if you could find their profile, use it almost like a substitute science.

They build barriers and perform healing with it, by sealing it into pigments, stones, or other things, for later use. It requires a great cost in ingredients beforehand for 90% of its uses.

The only off the cuff spellcasting is done by the very best, most elite mages, who effectively are creating "pre-made" spells on the fly, using inks or stones as channels to focus their abilities. It's incredibly demanding and risky to the user.
