Apparently some idiot isn't too happy with Obama's current policies. He threatened to kill Obama, his wife, and his kids, or so I heard. FBI and LAPD officers have him holed-up in his vehicle outside the Westwood City federal building, which isn't too far from where I live.

Thoughts?

He's been sitting in his car (a red buggy) for nearly seven hours now, and he's been smoking and chillin' while law enforcement have been attempting to negotiate with him and get him to come out of the vehicle. They even sent a robot to give him a soda to drink for Christ's sake.

I hope it gets wrapped up soon, it killed my afternoon commute and I suspect others are experiencing similar problems.

Can't say for sure.

What I can say is that there are rumors that the guy inside the car is a 56 year old man from West LA who hasn't taken his meds for a mental illness (possibly depression) he's been diagnosed with. Apparently, he gets really belligerent when he's off his medication. He's had his windows rolled up since 10 AM this morning, and the newscaster are estimating that it's around 120 F (48 C) in the car.

Oh, and he just sat through 3 tear gas canisters injected into his car by the LAPD bomb squad. He rolls down the driver's side window to let the gas disperse, then he rolls it back up. Keep in mind, he's in a little Volskwagon Beetle, so this shit is astounding everybody, because the canisters purportedly have enough gas to take out an entire room of people.

I like how they finally switched from the camera guy with a bad commentary to the bad angle from the ground. They keep teargassing the guy.
