(Note: This is open for anyone and everyone just doing whatever on Empress Teta and the Sage Halls.)
The transport landed gently; obviously the pilot had done this a thousand times. The weather was beautiful. It was sunny, but with rolling clouds passing by lazily, caressing the blue of the sky. This is the first time Akacen had seen nature in person. Of course he had read about them, if not in encyclopedias and other archives, in fictional story books that he was always reading. This was a perfect representation of what he had come up with in his own imagination.
He rose from his seat, his pack already on his shoulder, in his lap, and walked for the opening hatch. He didn't want to get stuck behind anyone and have to do any unnecessary talking. He wasn't here to make friends after all; at least not with these padawans.
Akacen had left Coruscant for the Sage Halls of Empress Teta to further his understanding of the Force, as well as learn new techniques and powers. Even though he was just a young padawan, he was devoted to the life of the Jedi ever since he first stepped into the halls of the Temple of Coruscant. He wanted to learn all he could as quickly as he could. No time was soon enough to learn something new.
He was first to reach the hatch, though it was only 3/4 of the way open. The brilliant light blinded him for a second. He had to squint and have his eyes adjust to the brightness. Being out from behind the window, the scene was even more fantastic. The light breeze blowing the grass and branches of the nearby trees carried a scent which he had never smelled. He was awestruck.
Akacen talked to himself in him mind often, probably because he didn't say much out loud. However, at this moment, he could think of no words. He just started walking.
He forsook the path and went, gently curving, to the left, towards the rising sun. He looked all around him, and once he was a decent distance away from the transport, he slowed his pace to, what he would normally consider, a crawl.
He found a nice grassy spot and removed his pack from his shoulder and his heavy cloak, folding it neatly on the ground and placing his pack on top of it. He proceeded to sit, cross-legged on the ground and being meditation. He knew he should get used to this foreign place. It was so different from the hustle and bustle on Coruscant. It's not that is was lazy or stagnant, it was just much slower. The Force flowed through this place at, what he would consider, a calm, controlled pace.
What Akacen lacked in lightsaber skill and form he made up with in his affinity to the Force. He could feel the trees breathing in the wind. They were so alive! He let himself delve in the small glade he had found before reaching more outwards. Though he had a good control over the Force passively, he was still a padawan and needed to work his way up, as to not lose himself to it.
He remembered reading once of this Jedi, long ago, who let his physical body go for a more perfect connection to the Force. Whether he succeeded or not no one knew, but Akacen just knew it was possible to lose one's self, and he feared many things about the power of the Force, whether or not they were actually well-founded.
He sat there for a time, even he did not know. However, it didn't particularly matter to him, he wanted to feel this place as only Jedi can, feel it for what it really is.
After a while, he was startled by the gurgling of his stomach. It was dusk when he awoke from his meditation and he hadn't eaten anything since the day before he left Coruscant. He was too nervous and excited to eat the day of.
He rose and put the cloak on his shoulders and the pack over his head over one shoulder, the pack resting on his left hip. He walked directly back from where he had come and found the path. In the distance, between the trees, he could see the Sage Halls. That small sliver of it was enough to show the impressiveness of the Halls. He walked his normal pace while looking all around, taking in his surrounding visually, as well as trying to feel them through the Force. He hadn't quite gotten to multi-tasking.
Akacen passed a few Jedi on the path. He bowed to all of them, showing his submission and rank by bowing lower than all of them. He was a padawan, not even an apprentice yet. Perhaps here he might find someone willing to take him under their wing and teach him. Though, being pessimistic, he wasn't going to entertain the possibility. It was better to be pleasantly surprised by something by not expecting it to happen, than be disappointed by something he had hoped to happen.
Within a few minutes he reached the entrance of the great Temple. He walked a bit slower now, taking in the grandness of the place, before entering.
He had arrived.
