Nautilus Coven ​

The Nautilus Coven is a group of force users who have rejected the ways of life of both the Jedi and the Sith. Believing that the force is meant to connect all things, as well as thinking that emotion is a powerful tool that could connect them on a deeper level. Due to this, the Nautilus Coven is a tight-knit group, that focuses much of their energy on taming wild animals with the force, and bending the rules and laws of nature to their will, or peacefully interact with it in their quest to fully grasp and understand the full power of both the force, and nature.

Intent​

The intent is to create a faction independent and unique of both the Jedi and Sith, and focusing on a section of Star Wars often ignored, despite being a large part of what makes the series interesting. The group is meant to focus on nature, and how the force can influence it in strange and mystical ways. While it has been explored in canon and legends, it is rather incomplete. This faction could give writers an opportunity to write and imagine the alien nature that Star Wars has to offer, and utilize it in a variety of Roleplay scenarios.

Goal​

The goal of the faction is to set a faction of force witches into place, one that utilizes the force in unique ways alien to both the Jedi and the Sith. Alongside this, a goal is to explore throughout immersive roleplays the exploration of what truly makes the alien worlds in Star Wars unique and alive.

Members​

Members of the Coven are deemed Brothers and Sisters respectfully. Members often adorn themselves with tattoos and markings appropriate for what they study in terms of the force, as well as what they specialize in. This causes each person to have a unique set of markings and tattoos, or none at all if they do not wish to wear them. Above the Brothers and Sisters are the two Shamans. Above the Shamans is the Patriarch/Matriarch.

Location​

The Nautilus Coven is based out of Saleucami, a planet covered in foreign wildlife and odd rock structures. Currently, the Coven is nearby a spaceport, and controls several towns, as well as the area around a sarlacc pit.

If my old character Jahairal were around he'd have jumped to join this faction. Someone needs to represent the shamans and druids of the force.

Two points. First, the Jedi don't ignore emotion, they just don't let it control them.

Second, if they wish to bend the rules and laws of nature to their will, they will be heavily seduced by the dark side as per the Force rules in this TL. So basically they would all become Dark Force users by this claim. Now if there is a less "controlling" way to work with nature, that might allow folks to stay in the light, so to speak.

I have a shaman Sith that would at least have contact with these people. Question: this is called a witch faction, right? But males are alowed? Cause it's kinda confusing in the title.ans the imagery being all females for that matter.

If duel faction ship was allowed, I would jump right into this now. But it isn't. Maybe I will join at a later date.

Maybe instead of witches, you could do something like mages? It's a non gender biased name for basically a witch.

That tells me anyone in your group that does this - which I read as "everyone" - will go to the Dark Side. *shrug* Bending things to your will is not a very "light" thing to do. So you can say that it is up to the individual, but having that in your write-up as the group's goal/mission/etc makes that a priority for the entire coven.

I love this group actually, just my 2 cents on the Force piece.

Personally, I'd argue any exertion of the Force over anything else is effectively bending it to your will. Tutaminis is bending energy to one's will, as it manipulates in absorbing or redirecting or deflecting energy (possibly some other stuff too, can't remember). Telekinesis is clearly bending the laws of gravity to any arguable extent, and Force healing bends the natural biological regenerative process. Even a Jedi Mind Trick telepathically bends another's will (albeit usually in benign ways) by influencing their cognitive thought process, almost like drugging a person. So I figured that term just meant 'manipulation'.

I agree cause a light side user can control beasts and nature but once you put the WILL part it does have a darkside hint to it

I guess the real difference is in the specifics of the methods. Either you are dominating a creature with the force into an aggressive master and slave relationship, or using the force to give it positive emotions and soothe the creature into liking you and becoming your ally
