I'm creating this thread in order to further develop our soon to be new base on Tibannapolis; Forward Base Bespin. The acquisition and development of which will initially be told through the stories of The Bespin Project Mission Pack currently being undertaken by the Corusca and other Rebels. As a reminder, this mission pack AND location is open to all Rebels- so if you're interested head over to the Corusca OOC and get in on this with us or feel free to have your own adventure on Tibannapolis!

Eventually as we build upon this idea this thread will contain relevant info on our facilities on Tibannapolis, points of interest in the City and it's various factions and NPCs, so that we can use it in a similar fashion as The Rebel Dawn or the Ord Pardon bases.

If you have something you'd like to contribute (NPC's, locations, etc) please post here or PM me and I'll see about adding it!

Cloud_City-1.png

As a floating city- the second largest on Bespin- Tibannopolis is virtually identical to its more famous cousin, Cloud City, in terms of basic construction.

The Opposition
imperial_japanese_navy_grunge_flag_sjpg1950.jpg

The Red Suns Gang is the indisputable master of the criminal and black market racket surrounding not just Tibannopolis, Cloud City, or Bespin, but the whole Ison Corridor. Without the Hutt Cartels to keep them in check, the gang has seized control of well over half the piracy and smuggling operations, but also the gambling and black market enterprises that call the region their home. Their leader, the self proclaimed Grand Admiral Mygeeto claims to be a spiritual (if not moral) successor to the great Imperial commander of legend, and rules the Empire he's carved for himself with appropriate zeal. While the natural talent may sometimes be lacking, members of the red suns are well trained, well equipped, and eager to prove themselves to their lord.

The Boss
grand_admiral_thrawn_by_electricboa-d60d8vf.png
Self styled Grand Admiral Mygeeto is the defacto leader of the Red Suns Gang. He is known as cunning, cruel, and ambitious, and though recent rumors hint that he is increasingly unstable and possibly insane, it is undeniable that he rules his criminal empire with an iron fist and is unlikely to fade away quietly in face of the Rebel occupation.

The Enforcer
starcon_2014_mandalorian_mercs_by_enyxphoto-d7umkax.jpg
Captain Shiel Visla is the second in command and most visible face of the Red Suns. A Mandalorian warrior with decades of experience and an ambition the size of the death star, Shiel is both feared and respected by his men. He carries out the day to day operations of the gang, and quiet rumor has it he is becoming increasingly independent from his boss.

The Hotshot
download.jpg
Lotho the Blue, a local mercenary pilot of some renown, commands the Suns raider squadrons. He fiercely guards his reputation as a hotshot pilot and rarely passes up an opportunity to prove how good he is. Recent news is that he has convinced Mygeeto to invest a significant amount of credits to modernize the Suns modest pirate fleet.

The Muscle
Rodian_War.jpg
The Red Suns Gang has attracted a dizzying array of the Galaxy's worst offenders to its ranks. From Rodians to Barabel, Gammoreans and Twileks of every color and Humans of every variety, the only thing they all have in common is a bad attitude and a propensity for violence. Even the average punks wearing Suns colors are well armed and well paid, and will put up a hell of tough fight- sometimes just for the sake of a good time. Their pilots are the best snubfighter jockeys money can buy, and the hiring process favors candidates with a certain bloodthirstiness. The Red Suns have a reputation for being the big bad boogeymen of the sector and they'd like to keep it that way, Rebels or no Rebels.

The Locals

The Boss
Srata.jpg
Baron Administrator (retired) Strata Fey'tey has graciously volunteered to head the interim civilian government, and is credited with spearheading the re-population effort for Tibannopolis. Though his motivations are not without question after his ouster as the Baron Administrator of Bestopolis III prior to the rise of the Empire, his qualifications are beyond reproach. With authority over the Tibannopolis Sky Guard and ultimately all of the fledgling city services Strata wields considerable political power, at least while the cities governing bodies are under construction- if you need something from the interim government, he's the man to see.

The Enforcer
Borsk_Feylya_-_SWGTCG.jpg
Commander Wist Saiga'tey is Strata's distant cousin and right hand man as the leader of the fledgling security forces of the Tibannopolis Sky Guard. Though he is often accused of being a beneficiary of nepotism, Wist is more than cunning enough to have earned his place, as his enemies- both political and criminal- have discovered to their dismay.

The Law
BespinWingGuard-PoV.jpg
The Tibannopolis Sky Guard (or TSG) is the premier law enforcement agency on Tibannopolis- or at least, they will be once they meet their staffing quotas. Modeled after the famous Wing Guard of Cloud City, the TSG is currently comprised of a motley collection of former law enforcement officers, soldiers, and hired guns- some of whom hail from Fey'tey's own house guards- and a variety of overworked administrative personnel from all walks of life. The TSG is responsible for far more than just law enforcement, and have their hand in practically all public services. Their cooperation is vital to support Rebel operations in the city.

The Odds
Stacker_Pentecost_Official_1.png
Tiberius Rainer is a hardline Corellian patriot, former political rival of Galactic Alliance Head of State and current Rebel Leader Nathanaeu Bastele, and now counterbalance to the political power of Baron Administrator Fey'tey. As the head of the Corellian Refugee community, Tiberius retains considerable influence of his own and is one of the few bold enough to openly oppose Strata, though many believe this may have more to do with his own ambition than anything else.

Here one candidate I got for a NPC so far

180px-Niathal.jpg

Name: Nami Kairyu

Age: 38

Gender: Female

Species: Mon Calamari

Home-Planet: Manaan

Speciality: Quartermaster

Personality: A very serious and goal-driven individual is what sums up Nami Kairyu. Despite having the thankless job of acquiring supplies and materials for those she serves, Nami can thrive in the challenges of it. When it comes to her work Nami is firm as dursteel and will even stand up to her seniors to secure the needs of her charges. Yet outside of that Miss Kairyu is lacking much of a social life with few real friends and is known to be a stubborn work alcoholic. It is believed that she keep herself working most of the time to avoid remembering what she suffered from this war so far.

Nami does care about the people she's around but the Mon Cala has a hard time expressing it in any other way beside her official role.

Biography: Born and raised on Ahto City in Manaan by her single mother, Aia Kairyu, Nami learned to provide for herself and her three younger siblings at an young age while her mom was occuipped with two different jobs. She developed a strong work ethic over the years of because of this and it served her well in school then the GA military when she enlisted at age twenty one. Her management skills soon in a few years caught her seniors' attention and she eventually earned a top position in the logistics division within the Alliance navy. Much later however the Sith's victory over the Alliance cost Nami her military career.

She fled back to Manaan and kept herself occuipped for the next decade employed in the kolto market. Then when the Sith Imperium invaded her home this time Nami found herself in the front-lines of the war. In the early days of the Manaan siege, she was caught up in the crossfire of a skirmish between the IAF and the legendary Defiance Squadron. Nami survived the incident but she was wounded and emotionally scarred by the bloodshed in the process. It took time for her to recover on both accounts yet she did by the time the Siege was lifted.

In the aftermath Nami realized that the seemly "invincible" Empire can be beaten. It was right at that moment Kairyu decided that she will join the struggle against the Sith regime in whatever capacity she can take. Nami Kairyu searched and made her way into the Rebellion and has served as the best quartermaster she can be ever since.

We need a social hang out. A canteen of some kind. Where we can base social threads out of.

For srs do, I agree. Luckily "Floating City in the Clouds" provides lots of opportunity for hang outs. Most of the named locations on the Cloud City wiki are bars, casinos, or luxury hotels of some form or another. I'll be sure to add things accessible to various social classes as we go along.

As a side note, I'm going to include blurbs for the Red Suns Gang here. I'll be NPCing them for the majority of the misison pack at least, and I fully intend them to be some of the meanest, toughest, most devious bastards we've fought yet. They will test your abilities in more ways than two.

At the risk of a blatant double post, does the format here (insofar as I've applied it to the Red Suns) appeal to everyone, or would you prefer something more substantial? Coming soon would be the more "official" NPC leadership of Tibannopolis, it's security, personnel, and locations.

I like it but I would like to know more about them. Like just how strong they are. Do it like a threat assement that certain jedi and rebel PC have where you menstion what asserts they have and rummored to have, esstmated funds, personal extra.

Yeah I like the setup so far, the future security of the city interests me, more so their tech but we already talked out some things. Other than that is there any chance we could rename the city? Tibannopolis is just boring how about something like Jiyūnoeru? It is inspired by Jiyū no jueru, which means "Jewel of Freedom" in Japanese. (Jee-roo-no-eru)

I like it. But I think SoB has a good point. If you could do it like a RAID threat assessment with potential assets that would be cool.

And guys, we're using a Canon city. I don't personally mind the name, I don't think we need to have a fancy name for the base. Besides it's not like Cloud City is the exemplar of originality. If you want to call it something else after we take it feel free to give it a nickname, but until we change it to something new or take it everyone IC will know it as Tibannopolis.

Love the opposition! Information provided is more than enough. Just enough freedom to dictate how the thread will move along. The less detailed the better, in my opinion - allows the role players to figure it out as they go along (and how much of a pain in the ass it is to write one RAID file for an NPC that'll be gone once the arc is over), not to mention Rebel Intel on this should be vague and mainly word-of-mouth types. But yeah, excited to see the further edits in regards to the friendly NPCs that'll be around the city. Once I get this new PC I'll be sure to pass along some ideas.

As for the name of the city, I'm with Ral on this one. We haven't done anything to warrant the name change yet. Once the arc is over, we can talk about the possibility of renaming it, but your character can give it whatever nickname you'd like in character. Let's focus more on the doing now.

That's a fair assessment of rebel intel. Maybe we should add more to it as we learn it ourselves (this could give us bonus objectives where if we find info on them during missions we could add it here or have Loco add it).

I support this idea, and I'm perfectly willing to add information to the write up as you guys investigate. You guys will also get a bit of compromise on the Suns- I've still got info on the gang to add so you'll have a bit more to go on capabilities, but there's no way in hell I'm writing up a RAID profile with all the headache that entails. That said, I do want to have the blurbs kind of short so as to keep a degree of flexibility.

In regards to the name, I'm really not fond of changing it. For one, it is a canon location, so I feel it may confuse folks who come in down the line. For two, everyone should keep in mind that we don't own this city. We are providing resources and support to the refugees and corporate interests that will be inhabiting it, in the hopes of proving that the Rebel Alliance is a viable alternative to the Empire, but we are not ourselves dictating the day to day governance of the city.

I have a two hour commute each way to work, so I have a lot of time on my hands to sit and plot drama and intrigue to throw at you guys for some of these missions- I've got even odds that you'll fail at least one of the current mission and will have to find a way to recover. Cue maniacal laughter.

I've contributed more to the Red Suns, as well as a new section for some of our local personalities- there's plenty more to add there, and they'll be getting a summary blurb as well later tonight. There will be a separate section for dedicated Rebel NPCs.

I loled at your use of the WWII Era Japanese flag. Also a mission where we have to secure or steal another hyperdrive would be cool. Maybe the Red Suns operate a starship chop shop as a side operation which would need to have some of their parts "liberated".

Here another NPC hopeful

163

Name: Tiberius Rainer

Age: 51

Species: Human

Home-Planet: Corellia

Specialty: Information Broker/Corellian Refuge Leader

Personality: Espionage and policies Tiberius had lived and breath it. As a man of many years Tiberius Rainer spent a great deal of time to reflect his triumphs...and failures. Highly conservative yet shrewd, Rainer is stubborn to a fault when it comes to his opinions and beliefs but finds it necessary to compromise sometimes when a goal needs to be achieved. He still see himself first and formost as a Corellian patriot above all else. Being exiled from his home-world however has affected him greatly and forced him to rely on those foreigners he thought less of

Biography: Born and raised in an small town near the Gold Beaches of Coreillia, Tiberius Rainer lived modestly there for most of his youth. Then after turning eighteen he enlisted into the famous police organization Corsec and serve as an officer of the law in Tryena. He was eventually at age thirty promoted to police captain in charge of a precinct.

In that role Rainer learned the importance of gathering information during operations and managing a group. Many years later he retired and got involved in policies, representing his adopted city in the Corellian Parliament.

His term in office was spent advocating a pro-nationalist stance and calling for Corellia become more independent from the Galactic Alliance. This lead him to butt heads repeatedly with the then representative of Coronet City, Nathanaeu Bastele when debating galactic issues.

Tiberius and Bastele ran against one another to represent their homeworld. In the end, Tiberius Rainer loss the election, but soon he soon saw a small victory in that Bastele was gone from Corellia leaving him a chance to solidify his influence in the planet's policies.

Despite being no big fan of the Alliance, Tiberius was horrified to see it crushed in the war against the Sith Imperium. He knew in his heart that the Empire will come for Corellia and so when Bastele returned and became the planet's leader, Tiberius shocked many when he pledged support for his former rival in the face of the coming Sith invasion. When it arrived, Tiberius valiantly commanded the resistance cells in Tryena and the region surrounding it throughput the campaign.

In the end, though he was forced to flee off-world when the Empire finally triumphed and lost his beloved son, Markus who was killed covering his father's escape.

The pain of this loss nearly destroyed the once proud man but he eventually found new purpose in supporting Corellian refuges on Bakura. He ended up becoming the leader of their exiled community in the struggling years that followed. Now he leads many of them to the new home for them on Bespin in support of the Galactic Rebellion.

I love this guy. Either way if it's not used I'll take him for something else I have in mind! If you don't mind.
