Kain heard the announcement of Barak Mercer's arrival and a few minutes later noticed him standing by the bar. As his own drink was nearly empty and he was yet to locate any old acquaintances from the CADF, he made his way to the bar. Halfway there he noticed the presence of another at Mercer's side, Grand Moff Morgenroete. Though he hated politics and the games that bureaucrats always seemed to be playing, he was willing to bear this bureaucrat for a while, after all he did need a drink.
Reaching the bar he nodded to the duo, "Grand Vizier Mercer, Grand Moff Morgenroete." Pointing to the bartender to refill his glass, he turned around a moment later with a full glass in his hands once more. Looking at the vast chamber in front of them he slightly inclined his head towards the Grand Vizier, "Didn't really expect it to be such a somber gathering, did you?" The sarcasm in his voice was evident, as was the disdain he felt for some of the beings in the chamber. As a pair of Chiss walked past them, a female Imperial Colonel walking with them and talking animatedly, Kain once more addressed the duo, "So what do you think, an alliance for the ages?"
