Months ago, Admiral Aken Bosch was believed to have been killed when he trespassed into Chiss territory and was executed by Ubiqtorate. His son, Snufio Bosch, is seeking revenge. He has taken control of the decommissioned Star Destroyer Confusion and has docked at a Chiss space station where he has taken the place hostage and demands Arch'aza'cnuruodo be brought before him, believing the Chiss are hiding the missing Sith Lord.

Goal: Rescue the hostages, then infiltrate Confusion. Capture or eliminate Snufio Bosch.
Location: Confusion
Slots: Arch'elie'lia, Andra'kel'nurodo, Nasiri Lavii

The Council of Eminence was the governmental authority in the Chiss Ascendancy. It was a consortium of the powers of the Chiss, made up of the CEDF's Tactical Commander, CAIN's Director, and the Immortal Legion's High Immortal. And, of course, the entire council was lead by the ruler of the Chiss Ascendancy, the Grand Imperator.

That leader, Mar'tel'nuruodo, was not present today. He was currently preoccupied with a touring of a CARD facility in an undisclosed facility with Elspet Ecclesia. Instead, the others were all there. Though instead of the usual meeting place of the Citadel, they met at a space station called Super King, named after a self-righteous pirate king whom had been crushed by CAIN years ago.

Arch'elie'lia had reserved one of the observatory conference rooms for their meeting. It was a beautiful sight, overlooking the main lobby that held dozens of visitors. Ascendant Guard were minimal, with only a couple dozen inside the room and outside in the hallway. A battalion waited in the docked ship Praetor. Heliel herself had two dozen undercover agents at Super King, and if she was a gambling woman, she would bet the other two had guards hidden too.

"This meeting isn't a formal one," said Heliel. "However, I thought an informal meeting with our to-be Tactical Commander was necessary. Besides, I'm not sure if you two have formally met each other. Nasiri, meet our new Tactical Commander, Andra'kel'nurudo. Arkel, this is High Immortal Nasiri Lavii." It was a minor celebration, honoring Arkel's ascension to Tactical Commander, filling Martel's void. The news would be announced later that day, at the nearby planet of Kinoss, where the CEDF Beta Base sat. It was why Confusion had been chosen, due to his close proximity to Kinoss. "As the senior here, I congratulate both of you to the Council of Eminence. I have read both of your profiles, and if they're any indication of your abilities, I have faith both of you shall help lead the Chiss Ascendancy to prosperity." Glancing at Nasiri, she added, "And to you, I congratulate. For too long discrimination and xenophobia has plagued the Ascendancy in regards to leadership. You're a fine example that this nation may hold a Chiss majority, but that doesn't mean other species aren't valued too. And you, Arkel, I think great things will come from you. You have large boots to fill, considering our current Grand Imperator," she added current as she herself was a former Grand Imperator, "was the previous Tactical Commander. Don't let the pressure get to you. Remember, don't view yourself as Martel's successor, but as the Tactical Commander. My brother Havoc sought himself great due to being the brother and nephew of two former Grand Imperators and that arrogance led him astray. You're no shadow. None of us are. We are the pillars of light that shall guide the Chiss Ascendancy."

OOC: The first couple rounds of posting will be more social in aspect, before we start the action parts.

Arkel still wasn't really used to his new position, in all honesty. It had come so quickly, and the changes so abrupt, that he could safely claim to be in a state of semi-shock.

It was nearly unprecedented in Chiss history for a Prima Legatus to be promoted to Tactical Commander, passing through the rank of Maximums Legatus (or its historical equivalent) and ascending to the Council of Eminence. He was the youngest member of the Council at this time, and in the running for youngest in history.

He did like the fact that he got to choose a new flagship, a larger one of course. A shame; he hadn't even gotten to fully break in the Kajil-class Battlecruiser he had been commanding from. Whoever inherited his battle group would be a lucky man indeed. Those months of training had turned the 3rd into the Ascendancy's premier battle group by far, at least in his opinion.

He was still working on filling out transfers for the officers he wanted to keep as part of his command stuff. It was stressful work, deciding which men were skilled and loyal enough to deserve that promotion, and painful as some were passed over.

But Arkel was the happiest man in the system. His family's name had been restored by his appointment, and the historical significance of it. His father was happy too, to be involved in the government again, albeit in a minor role.

Arkel personally thought that meeting in the Super King was a risk. Three, possibly four, including the Grand Imperator no less, members of the Council of Eminence in one spot? He was under no illusions of the ambitions of the other groups in the galaxy, and knew that their vulnerability here presented the opportunity for the Chiss leadership to be devastated in one, swift, strong stroke. As a result, Arkel had personally chosen two squads of his best Marines, under a trusted officer to be on standby in the station's security center. Another squad of plainsclothes military police were scattered near the meeting room.

And his flagship, the Chimera II, lay on standby the next system over. Although technically under the command of a new captain, until the Tactical Commander became CO of a new flagship, the ship was all his. He knew the captain didn't like this conflict of command, and Arkel could sympathize. Not a few weeks ago was he just another subordinate in the chain of command. Now he was at the top. And he would be damned if he ever became haughty about it. Until his last day in office, he would hold dear to his heart the memories of the long road to this position.

On his hip was a TX-31 "Tyrant" heavy pistol, his service sidearm. He was quite proficient at using it, and he felt relatively safe for the moment. He was a bit of a paranoid man indeed, he had to admit. It had grown worse with each promotion.

This occasion was casual, but important to Arkel. He wore his dress uniform, impeccably starched and creased in all the right places, his medals shimmering from the artificial light. His hair was moderately lengthy, and he had it parted with his bangs gelled back just a bit instead of hanging loose, something that looked easy was hard to achieve perfectly. He had also sprayed a little cologne on for the lady - even though they were coworkers, he always made it a point to be near his best around a lady.

But with him was no one less then the former Grand Imperator herself, and the Director of CAIN, alongside the High Immortal. They were a force to be reckoned with just on their own. They were not the aristocratic politicians of the Alliance. No, every man and woman in this room was a capable soldier.

Arkel listened to Heliel's words before giving a slight bow to both the Director and the High Immortal. He paid heed to the Director's advice, taking them to heart.

In fact, he was acquainted with the High Immortal. A stunning woman. He remembered their meeting quite vividly. There he had put on his charming mood and attempted to curry favor with the attractive lady. But things were way different now. This was a professional setting. And Arkel would act like it. If he had known the things he knew about the woman standing before him now, he would have most definitely acted differently. This was a woman one did not trifle with.

But now, they were...co-workers.

"I am acquainted with the High Immortal. Nasiri, my heart is gladdened to meet with you again," he said, although this time he offered his hand, and not a kiss.

"I thank you Director. It is a daunting prospect, to fill this position, especially with the high standards the role entails. However, I have never failed before, and this will be no different. I intend to leave my own mark on this office, and leave my own mark on history, free of the Grand Imperator's influence."

He paused, hoping to end that particular conversation. There were many things he did wish to discuss with the Director. "Director Heliel, I do wish to talk to you about some things. What news do you have from your operatives? I pray that our current military stratagem are still current. Any new information would be worth its weight in gold as I review the existing campaigns that are planned."

Nasiri sauntered in like she owned the place, her high heels clicking against the floor as she strode in. Being that the meeting was an informal one, she had elected to wear civvies rather than her Immortal blacks; Nasiri wore a red tee-shirt with the Immortal Phoenix on the right breast, a black leather jacket, and black pants tucked into knee-high boots. While she formerly preferred flats, being a woman who barely topped one-fifty-five centimeters around the Chiss had led her to adopt a somewhat different style - if only to reach the top shelf without relying on the Force. She wore her copper-gold hair in a loose twist on the back of her head, secured in place with a pair of hairpins, and wore a pair of spectacles perched at the end of her nose. Rather than correcting her vision, they were the display for her neural implant to help her organize data reception and transmission; even off-duty, Nasiri was still at work. She also wore a pheromone-neutralizing perfume, reducing much of the effect of her Zeltron biology on her fellow Councillors.

"We've met," Nasiri said primly, folding her arms beneath her breasts and fixing Heliel with a decidedly unamused stare. "He did not immediately begin by complimenting me on my species." Speciesism, even speciesist chauvinism, was a new experience for her - and one she had rapidly grown tired of.

She glanced at Arkel, an impish gleam in her eye. He would be fun to tease, especially with how he'd tried to flirt with her last time they met. "He was too busy staring at my chest." Clearly, the term 'professional behavior' meant nothing to Nasiri. "It was at Marty's coronation, though it was before he was appointed TeeCee." She smiled tightly at Arkel. "Apparently he was impressed with your ideas."

Better a mediocre post now than a good post next weekend.
