Born and raised on Raithal, Gavin earned the highest medal the Republic offers for gallantry. After Returning home to Raithal he was urged to run for senator. Raithal being home to the most prestigious of Republic academies he was quickly elected as senator and has sense working in the Senante to rearm the Republic and prepare for the danger of the Sith. As a juinior senator he works as hard as he can to prepare the Republic and not fall into the rampent coruption of the Senate. [/fancybox4]
DESCRIPTION
[fancybox2]Gavin stands above average human height and is of a fit build. Even since retireing from his commision he has tried to stay fit, easier said then done but it is something he strives for. On his back is tatooed his unit's motto, "If You Wish For Peace, Prepare For War" as well as his units emblem. Besides that he is usually seen in a nice suit or if not at the office in more casual clothing. When out on mecry missions or visiting the BA he is usually in some form of armor and clothes. He is one of the few senators to not be afaird to pull out a gun.
Personality wise being in command of a military unit has toned down his personality and made him learn the merits of listening to others but also knowing when to act. He is amiable and likes to get along with people. He can be sarcastic but he usually leaves that at the door not wanting to cause problem in the senate. Species may not understand it or be able to handle it.

WAR HERO

It was there that Gavin joined, studing in military history and earning his officership in the Republic Army. He was originally part of unit sapper unit attached to a air mobile group. During the last of the fighting he was selected to join Spec-Force and was added to the 113th Pathfinders Code named "Lancer Squad". It was here that he seen the worst of the fighting. They were usually dropped in to recon enemy encampments. It was on one of this missions that he went from being the "Major" To being the man that would be senator.
The planet was Ord Trasi, they had been sent in with a company to secure a bridge head to an island just off the mainland. Located was a vital complex used as a salavage yard. On the push up his unit had come under fire from repeater nests set up in abandoned houses and makeshift bunkers. Acting with only thinking of his unit, he charge the emplacements, going from cover to cover using grenades to take out the nests.
The next day on the move to close in on the bridge and to secure the mainland side. Once the area had be secured a scouting party was sent out, while out they were hit by an ambush and, Gavin's unit was the closest and responded they were attacked by sep reinforcements during this repeater fire downed most of the scouts. Leaving the rest of his unit behind to keep the enemy off of their backs, Gavin moved forward and under fire carried back the wounded and survivers of the firefight. Finally situated the dug in and waited for armor and mechinized groups to arrive to finish the push.
Unknown at the time was it had been turned into a major underground complex housing some of the resistance leaders. The small unit quickly found itself being pushed back across the varied bridges. Each group taking intense attacks and pushes by sepretist armor and infantry. The fighting was intense, Gavins area was hit with the largest and heaviest attacks.
The first day was some of the worst of the fighting, Gavin and his men could hear the enemy tanks approaching and before long the shooting started. Blaster fire everywhere while the two sides fought in the small town at the end of the bridge. Gavin's command squad got cut off for some of the fighting and were pressed upon by enemy armor. Doing the only thing he could he grabbed both rocket launcher and set about trying to take them out. His first target was a heavy assault tank, he engaged it from cover the the vehicles thick hide protected it and only drew its attention to himself. The enemy tanked opened fire, the round missed but was close enough to remove his helmet. Gavin was able to recomopse himself and load another round, this time hitting the side armor and destorying it. This story repated for the rest of the day. He only stopped when he had to return for more ammo. Later that day he was hit with by a motor round, he was saved by his armor but his lower leg plates had been destoryed.
The next day, the battle renewed. His legs still bleeding from their early wounds Gavin again found himself thrust in the middle of it all. Using is trusty anti tank weapon he went about again working to reunite his seperated unit. Several destoryed tanks later and much fighting the remaining members of his unit were reunited and regrouped. The attack didn't stop but contiunied into the night. By the end of it Gavin's ear was bleeding and was temorarly deaf due to the amount of rockets he had fired at the enemy. His leg wounds unhealed, he refusing treatment so that others might get more.
The thrid day the got word that reinforcemnts had been rerouted and they would need to hold out another day. With the prolonged battles they were getting short on supplies and they were going to have to pull back. So Gavin asked for volunteers to remain behind to hold off the early skirmishes until the rest of the survivors got across. Using a small portable mortar and the last of their supplies him and his volunteers held off the advance. At one point, the ferocisty of their defense caused an sepretist unit to withdraw in total confusion and shock at the sight of a man using a mortar as a gun. Firing off round after round with his volunteers at his back. With the last of his unit across, he and his men with him pulled back over the water by speeder. With is bold leadership and quick thinking the surviors were able to cross without another soldier lost. As he was leaving he was struck by the bolt of a marksman hitting him just above the knee. He was pulled in and tended to by the medic. Despite his pain, he asked for some water and a rag and cleaned himself up as to make himself presentable. He was put up the Republic's Highest honor, one that he would recieve back on his home planet of Raithal. Presented by the Supreme Chancellor themself as well as one of the highest unit commendations for his unit's actions on the planet.

SENATE
[fancybox4="http://i.imgur.com/evTynwR.png"]During the events that earned him his unwanted fame and his medal, he had joked to his friend that if they survived the battle he would run to be the Senator of Raithal. It happened that while he was recovering at home, having lost his leg to that marksman, giving accounts of his tale that his friend who was on leave for recovery as well spilled that he would run. Not being a man to step down after a challenge was presented he stuck to his word. With the Academy being the heart and soul of Raithal it was a near landslide victory for the very young now Senator. The Senate allowed him to retire from the army while he was serving as a senator with the option to return to his officership.
One of the youngest senators around he has pushed hard to reform and rearm the military fearing the expansion of the sith survivors. Many of the new senetor's don't want to push back and some even agree with his views. With the battles now over and the galaxy quiet he seeks to prepare for the war that could come. He offers as much support to the BA as he can in the Senate as well as making mercy missions to their systems. Most of the times smuggling arms, munitions, medicane, and food to the worlds. Its not much but its the best he can do as it is. He is unsure whether the BA can hold out or not but knows that at some point the Republic might need to fight. He has pushed some bills that allow the army to recover and rearm with newer and better weapons, while trying to sell off some of the older but still good enough equipment to the BA systems.
