Name: Genereth "Gene" Copella
Species: Human
Age: 52
Gender: Male
Weight: 195 lbs
Height: 6'0
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Skin: He's very, very white.
Force Sensitive: Yes!

Gear:
Holosaxophone
Holosax case
Holosax reeds
Cigarettes
Audio Bugs (3 or 4)
Crawling-Cameras (5)
Bobby pins and lock picks
Audio recorder (recording the Bugs)
Holo-recorder (recording the cameras)
Datapad
Lightsaber
Hold Out Blaster.

Force Powers:
Technopathy [mastered] - Gene has spent his life talking to the machines that surround him, and that he has surrounded himself with. He prefers talking to them than talking to people, and can talk to any machine around him. Which, in a galaxy filled with them, can get sort of distracting at times. Especially when they talk to him when he doesn't want them to.

Basics (Push, Pull, Jump, Sense, etc.) [mastered] - After joining the Jedi, Gene has grown accustomed to the Force outside of just talking to machines, and has mastered the basic force powers just like any other padawan out of day one.

Skills:
Surveillance (wiretapping, bugging people, places, things) - Spending a lifetime with machines has pulled Gene closer to sentients than he ever really wanted. Sadly, he was very good at the job, and has become a respected spy/surveillance expert within the Jedi Order. He builds all of his own equipment, and though it is often times from scraps of whatever he has laying around his Coruscant apartment, it tends to be just as advanced (if not better) than what the Order and G.A has to offer. He revels in spending days alone in his office inside the Coruscant Temple, listening to the wiretaps up the Order has, whether it be in a Sith ship or in the hiding hole of any other regular crew of gangsters the G.A needed behind bars.

Jamming On the Holosaxophone - Gene's only passion outside of tinkering with and talking to machines or using machines to listen to people talk, he even built his own Holosaxophone. Way before joining the Order, the Holosax kept him through many friendless nights by showing him images inside his own head he couldn't even fathom, and talking him through it while it happened. Quite possible his oldest friend, Gene values the presence of his Holosax over everything else, and has it neatly packed inside its case along with him wherever he goes.

Personality:
Gene is an awkward and silent character, although nice and well mannered. He is fidgety and off balance, and sometimes seemingly upset, although he is generally happy with himself and pleased with life. Often choosing to ignore most people, he will get to know someone, though he's obviously somewhere else while doing so. He has grown into a recluse, more willing to talk to the machines that are around him then other sentient beings like himself. This includes seemingly unintelligible droids, often to the confusion of people unknowing of his affinity to the Force. However, once one gets to know Gene beyond his shut-in, weird self...well, he's still very weird and fidgety, but he's a pretty alright guy. He laughs and gets angry and likes to watch movies and listen to jazz just like everyone else...he just also likes to talk to Audio-recording equipment and Ship consoles, which is most certainly not like everyone else.

Biography:
Born in Coronet, on Corellia, Gene grew up always one step ahead of all of his classmates intellectually, but always a few hundred steps behind them socially. At a young age, he found out he could "talk" to his mother's service droid...and then his datapad too! And even the caf machine, or the freshers. They all had separate personalities, even the machines that were of the same model and brand!, and were much more accepting than the classmates who treated him like a piece of dirt.

Every time one of them fell ill, Gene would fix them. Sometimes he even had other machines telling him what fuse to replace, or what wire was faulty, even down to replacing belts and gears. Eventually he didn't need their help when fixing all of his friends.

By the time secondary school was over, firmly interested in nothing but his friendly machines and the Holosaxophone with which he had a great, natural talent for, Gene had no more need for any of his classmates. They all chose to stay away from him after they saw him talking to to machines that created and graded the tests. If only they would have asked for the answers, he would have given them.

But no. Now he had every single droid and machine on the block knowing his name, enjoying his company. He earned money as a repairman, and even gained acknowledgement as the man who could whisper to machines. Give them a pat on the back, replace a screwy belt and they were good to go. For once in his life, he was useful not only to the machines but to the people surrounding him.

Over time, Gene made a living out of playing the Holosax in clubs for many different bands, which in turn introduced him to many new people and many new machines, mainly many new people with many new broken machines in need of repair. His service grew and his customer base did too. Many people called him friend although he called very few the same back, preferring their machines they brought to him. Several were in the business of surveillance, a profession that included seclusion in a dark room, often the only thing going for it being the interaction with machines.

Needless to say, Gene had a knack for that, too. When the audio wasn't clear enough, the machine would dictate the audio for him. When the video feed was fuzzy or messed up, the machine could tell him what it saw up close. His work helped the police catch as many criminals as there were in such a large part of a large city. He did his work and respect grew for him, while all he had to do was sit in a room and talk to his friends, occasionally go out and set up the taps and bugs but nothing truly dangerous. He had never been happier in his life.

His usefulness grew when a Jedi visited Coronet, in need of a missing droid that was the only lead on a pirate gang behind a recent bunch of kidnappings. Having seen that one particular droid around, Gene explained his ability to the Jedi Knight, who seemed to sympathize with Gene's power. He explained to Gene about the Force, and that Gene himself was a Force Sensitive with an ability not many other Jedi ever truly developed. The ability to talk to machines was not something that set him apart from others because he was strange, unlike many others. Force Users were prevalent in society, sometimes even treated like deities...Gene immediately knew what he had to do.

He joined the Jedi Order at the ripe old age of 47.

For five years he underwent basic training, along with padawans under half his age. He learned powers outside that of talking to machines, although he did ascertain a new friend along the ride: His lightsaber. Along with his Holosaxophone and just about his entire quarters, Gene had a whole new group of buddies to cut himself off from the rest of the galaxy with.

And he had though he could never have been happier.

There's an influence here that I just can't pinpoint.

I like it.

This movie was heavily influenced by Reefer Madness...not sure if you've seen it. Pretty good flick.

Perhaps...

Nice read, though I'm not sure how you'll develop a recluse Jedi into the fold. Good to have you back in the RP!

He's a master spy! Not an action spy, but the sit around and listen for valuable information spy. Those are still incredibly useful, right?
