Wow...lol...demanding. I haven't played guild wars, but I love the freedom you get with WoW. There's many different races to play and freedom to go after and walk into whatever area you want. You just must be prepared to take the consequences if you get your head in too deep. The missions are fun to do. You can pick if you want to solo them or do them with others. There are guilds to help you out if you join their ranks. You can kill persons playing the other side...I got my first Alliance kill today..hehe. There are dungeons to go into and tons of treasure to get. Overall, there's tons to do and it's a blast. Interaction with others is lots of fun. Also, the game really isn't that expensive. Even after you max your character out, you can still do raids and other things...PLUS help lower characters out. Day 1 of playing WoW I was hooked. Not many games are like that with me.

I voted Guild Wars even though I have yet to play it. I have played WoW and it is the same old story with blizzard. Everyone roaming the streets with their "Cookie Cutter" builds. The reason they use CCs is because Blizzard never makes balanced tree that are viable in many different builds. So everyone walks around with the exact same character calling everyone else a Noob, and acting like a god because they don’t have any else do other then play WoW every single waking second of their lives.
They continue to over-haul the trees and mess them up. The paladin is a bard? Why would anyone ever make a paladin the bard of the game? paladins are built to buff in WoW and that IS NOT A PALADIN! Paladins are warriors first and foremost. Paladins are the front-line fighters for al that is good. Not a second rate caster standing behind the lines healing and casting buffs! I hate what they did to my most beloved class!
I can rant forever about WoW and its unending list of short comings. I will say that WoW is very fun to play but gets boring after a while. Not variations of mounts. You get this and you have no choice. You can do quests that take forever to get other types of mounts, but what about new or unique mounts? Nothing is Unique in WoW.

But there are professions and soon a new profession (1 profession can take 1 side profession so now there are 6 professions means 1 profession has the ability to have 5 diffrent mixes of it if they are good mixes however depends on the user.
And then... its just warcraft it would be better if they started something from scratch something new instead of the something they are familiar with I mean its good but feels wrong since warcraft was a strategy game. I mean there were tanks and stuff in there where have those gone?.

but seriously Guildwars is for people who suck at mmos. Wow is absolutely awesome.
even if i couldnt play it, i would play EQ2 or maybe even DDO before i would even touch guild wars. guildwars is a cool game and all, but WoW is good all around and because of the PvP. Without PvP there would be next to no post 60 content besides instances, which would suck. and even though thats not much to pick from, another 10 levels is being added as well as a new world, and new talents, which brings me to my next point. Your WoW character is extremely customizable. depending on your talent trees you can become better suited towards different things and such, which is completely awesome.
in conclusion, i would say that the only game that can possibly compete with WoW is EQ2, which is an entirely different story

sorry my quotes arent working... juun, WoW takes place i believe 5 years after warcraft three. the story is basically this:
after arthas and the lich king become one, he sets out to conquer the world. the Alliance and Horde are now in an uneasy truce (as the lore says, but that is a bunch of crap. i pwn the crap out of newb allies every day) as they set out to defeat the lich king. the banshee queen sylvanas, broke away from arthas when he fused with the lich king. Correct me if im wrong, but i believe that is how she regained control of her mind. Basically, along with her mind being restored, hundreds of other undead servants were given their will back. they quickly assembled and attacked the ruins of Lordaeron, which was being converted into a capital for the lich king. they captured the city and finished expanding the family crypt below it into the Undercity. THe Undead, knowing that they would not be able to withstand a full out war with the lichking, decided to join the orcs, tauren, and trolls of the horde. basically, thats the horde's story in a nutshell. Thrall created the city of orgrimmar and now they are all happy and crap.
as for the alliance, im not completely sure of how it goes but heres my take on it.
the gnome's city was destroyed when these burrowing things called troggs burrowed into the city and killed everyone, bringing disease and crap with them. so they moved in with the dwarves, and there you go. the human kingdom of Stormwind has taken control of the human empire, and has taken control of Lordaeron's teritory that wasnt captured by the horde (not much). the night elves... are crazy tree huggers so they decide to side with the alliance. there you go. not much to it.
as for side stories and crap, uhh...
i think the king of stormwind was kidnapped...
rexxar from the bonus campain makes a few appearances...
and the druids, are in a small time of conflict. the tauren have become one with the druidic arts, which has enraged the nightelves. the druids are stiull awakening from the emerald dream, and now the nightelves are all pissy because taurens have become druids. but, because they are druidic brothers, they are not allowed to clash inside the sacred realm of Moonglade, which is like a druid city.
im also pretty sure that in the first few versions of the game, druids couldnt kill each other in pvp because of their lore... which is pretty interesting but rather crappy if youre just about to gank some low level druid, when you are a druid...
anyways, thats pretty much all there is to wow. well, thats the summarized version by any rate.
