As he prepared to make his way to a meeting on a proposal for a revised healthcare system, Cos was approached by a Republic Intelligence Officer who had a datapad in his hand. It was not a strange occurrence, as he frequently received intelligence reports on the Sith and the Mandalorians, despite the fact that they were allies with the latter. However, when he took the datapad from the officers hand, he immediately knew that it was not directly related to the Sith or the Mandalorians.

He immediately knew that whoever had sent the message for him was incompetent, stupid or incredibly intelligent. He noticed the odd pattern of bolded letters, but chose to ignore them as he read through the message. There were clear fallacies in the message. For instance, he knew that the University of Alderaan was far older than one thousand one hundred years. Not only that, but while he didn’t know whether or not they were building a statue he knew for sure that there was no fundraising meeting that he had been invited to, as no one in the government of Alderaan would have been foolish enough to believe that he would travel into the Core Worlds for a simple meeting for funds on a statue. Granted, the idea that Alderaan would name a building after him was flattering, but he could not take that at face value either.

Cos started to ask the Republic Intelligence Officer what the meaning of the message was, but as he scrolled down further in the message he saw the addendum that Intelligence had added. The bolded letters represented a hidden message, one that told him to meet someone, who was most likely not the President of the University of Alderaan, at the nearby starport at 1100 hours for a meeting about Coruscant. Normally, he would have ignored it, but it sounded too promising to pass up. Luckily, the person did not tell him to come alone, so he would no doubt bring a squadron of guards with him. With his mind made up, he handed the pad back to the officer and then quickly made his way to the barracks to meet with the men who would escort him.

--------------------TIME PASSES--------------------

Hours later, Cos and his guards had arrived at the starport. It was not yet 1100 hours, but regulation and his own common sense said that the area had to be checked before hand. His guards had made their way into the corners, but two others made their way alongside him into a nearby storage room. Cos covered his head with a hooded cloak and had the lights shut out in the room where he would meet his contact, as well as the room he was standing in, to ensure that he would not be seen until he was ready to be seen. He would only reveal himself after he was assured that no one else who posed a threat had come with the contact. If things did go wrong, however, he had some of his best troops alongside of him, and he had also come armed.

Lou smiled at Rashada and shrugged "What can I say? I enjoy the creature comforts. The mind works better when the body is rested and nurished."

The comm unit buzzed to life as Baltimn control gave out clearence for the ship to proceed. The ship slid into the complex flight pattern and passed the line of picket ships giving further protection to the planet and those upon it. A few more times he used the comm, each time with that eerily feminine voice. In the end the ship landed at the perscribed pad as requested.

"Well," Lou said as he plucked the cane from the stand next to the cockpit door. "Do you want to go as is or would you like some other clothing, a cloak perhaps to help maintain your anonimity from any who might recognize you? You ARE rather famous you know." His smile widened.

Rashada seemed a bit nervous to Lou, who could read the underlying emotions and thoughts running through her mind; yet, to the average person, she appeared resolute and calm, collected. She stared at the cockpit door for a moment before finally answering him.

"A cloaked figure will arouse more suspicions than a mere reporter being on Baltimn," she answered him, turning her gaze to meet his dark eyes (I think they were dark at least if I remember correctly...lol). "Besides, we don't have too far to go, that is if the Supreme Chancellor took the bait."

A half-hearted smile rose on her lips, "yet, it'll make for a quick getaway if he says no. Besides, what does he have to loose by coming here? We're on his turf and under his rules. He has the upper hand and he'll know it."

OOC: One more post from Lirr and we'll be right there, Brandon.

'I know he knows i'm here. I honestly don't care. I am, however, curious as to this meetings - the Chancellor never does this kind of private meeting like this. Subtlety to this extent on his behalf is out of character for Dashin, which is why i'm here. He can either understand that, or be upset at my interference. Either way, if he says anything now, he'll miss his meeting. So I should be safe to find out what I want to know.

I'm just not looking forward to him berating me like a child who has done soemthing wrong afterwards...'

Despite his inner thoughts, Tyrn allowed not a single muscle on his face to display anything other than the pure professional guard's mask - just another day in the life of his double life, this was simply another facet.

Still, Tyrn wondered why the Chancellor made his guards wear such armor. Beneath the heavy hooded cloak, Tyrn wore a thick breastplate, along with full padded armor beneath that. Along with all of that, he was expected to carry a blaster rifle, two sidearms and his lightsaber in comfort? Complaining aside, it did allow Tyrn to realize that his position as Grandmaster had caused him to somewhat lose some of his former physical strength, and the suit of armor was reminding him and then some. So he ignored his discomfort for now, and followed the Chancellor. Whatever happened, something told Tyrn he needed to be there, for whatever reason, great or small.

The shrug came easily, a slight roll of his shoulders. The slight smile never left his features. Following her along the corridors of his ship his limp did not seem at all there.

"He will be there, you've given him a quandry which will only be satisfied with his presence at the perscribed time and place. The best bait is spawned from the mind of the one being baited."

Walking down the ramp seemed to trigger his limp like an off/on switch. Rashada herself felt no difference in the gravity but apparently Lou did; the faint pained look of someone used to perenial ache, the slightly unbalanced gait of one neither nimble nor agile, and the grip on the cane, the polished metal cane...

"Regardless," he said, his voice free of any stress from the seemingly nagging injury "If things do twist into a worst case scenario, I will see to your safety." The last words little more than the hint of a whisper as they exited the ship.

Rashada took another breath, looking back at the ship as if second guessing he decision. She could just leave now and let things play out. Yet, Rashada was never a coward, nor a reporter who flenched from any story, no matter how horrible it may be. The people of Coruscant, of the Republic needed her there, cutting through the lies and censorship of the Sith to report the truth. It was time for a new age.

Turning around again, eyes fixed on the location where she had told the Supreme Chancellor to meet her, she lead Lou through the port, walking toward her future, her destiny.

As the pair slipped through the starport, she couldn't stop the feeling deep down that they were being watched. It seemed Lou was right, afterall. Her identity had raised a few eyebrows. Uncertain of whether she should loose the tail or not as they approached the meeting place, she quietly whispered to Lou.

"I think a distraction might be in order. Someone's following us. If anything were to happen to the Supreme Chancellor...." she said, letting her words trail as a shiver ran up her spine. "Will you help?"

Looking at her he paused a moment before answering. How would she react?
"Yes but you must not raise a fuss by what you're about to see." He warned. Waiting for the moment when they passed beneath the upswept tail of a large freighter he closed his eyes and dipped his hand into the Current, affecting the flow of light and particles creating in that brief moment of cover from any would be watchers a truly visual illusion, one not in the minds of the viewers but truly a creation of warped photons. This illusion was of Rashada and himself walking onward in a tangent direction from their true goal. His hand fell on Rashada's shoulder as once more he passed the radiant light that bounced from their collective bodies to allow them to be seen and changed it, forcing the light to weave around them rather then against them; invisibility. He could maintain both the illusion of them and their invisibility for a time but it was not a long one. It would be enough however to facilitate their escape from watching eyes... he hoped.
"This way, quickly." He whispered, his limp vanished as he urged her forward towards the meeting place.

OOC: I'm guessing Tarn's already in with the Supreme Chancellor so that was just to protect us. Moving on. Baccie boy is up!

Rashada tried not to look as she swallowed the uneasy feeling that washed over her, trying to keep her senses about her. Hearing Lou's words to hurry, she quickly darted to the storage room. As both ran inside, she and Lou crept further into the darkness, listening for any sounds of persons following. She hoped Lou's distraction worked. Her blood pumping in her ears, she tried to calm herself as the strange feeling left her body, a huge relief to the reporter.

Eyes still adjusting to the darkness, she looked around, seeing nothing as she wondered if he truly was here. Why didn't I bring a glow stick? she chided herself, stepping out blindly into the darkness, hands stretched in front of her.

“I hear you’re looking for the chancellor,” a disguised voice from the shadows said.

Of course, Cos was the one that the disguised voice belonged to. After observing the strangers in the darkness for a few minutes, he finally stepped out of the shadows. However, he did not yet reveal his face. If they recognized him, it would only be through partial voice recognition as he was not yet through with finding out their intentions. He was not prepared to walk into something blindfolded.

“If you’re armed,” Cos said, his voice still disguised, “I suggest you throw your weapons to the ground.”

The scenery was rather quiet for Baltimn, especially considering what was going on at the moment. In fact, the entire world seemed to not care that several of the most important people in the galaxy were treading its soil. The tides still came and went, its moon was gazing lazily down at its near-midnight stance, lighting the night. It was not uncomfortable, the world rotated on its ellipsis, as it always had, and this time of year was halfway to winter, as usual. Animals still crawled through the jungles, and birds still flew in flocks through the air.

Right now, even, a flock of hawklike birds in a lopsided V were flying south early for the winter, not caring an ounce, as their world cared not an ounce, that they were flying over the leader of a a thousand worlds. Their silhouette shone against the fingernail moon. One of the same kind of bird, coming from the same direction, even stopped to rest, fluttering to a stop on the roof of the ship, staring idly at the group of people, looking almost silly as a representative of the reality that had seen many leaders come and go, and no longer cared if they continued doing so. The bird even seemed amused by the comical little show as he watched the meeting transpire.

Rashada's eyes squinted in the darkness as she turned toward the voice, trying to make out who it might be. Had the message to the Chancellor been intercepted by someone else?

"I can assure you I am unarmed," she said to the mysterious man, knowing that he had to be someone within the Republic Intelligence. "I've come a long way from Coruscant to meet with the Chancellor. My name is Rashada Jecoavich...and as the message stated, I'm here to help. Now, you don't know the trouble I've been through to make it thus far, so I would appreciate it if you would take me to Chancellor Dashin."

She stretched her out her arms, heart pounding within her chest, as she stepped boldly forward a couple of steps. "You can search me if you like."

Lou wasn't startled by the sudden voice, he had the demeanor of one who really doesn't get startled. He allowed Rashada to carry the gist of the conversation, that half-smile on his lips the entire time. Into the silence after her offer of allowing herself to be searched Lou interjected his own comments.
"I'm not all that good with a blaster, I'd no doubt shoot off my own foot trying to draw one." His smile widened "Though as Miss Jecoavich said, you're welcome to search me as well." He leaned heavily onto his cane taking the weight off his right leg for a few minutes.
