Long time Star Wars fan, more recent roleplay fan here. I've read through the rules and have some thoughts about a character floating around that I hope will soon coalesce in to a strong, presentable profile. Still have to make sure I'm fully up to speed on this site's lore, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting there.

Oh! Might it then be beneficial for me to hold off on character creation until this shift occurs? The setting around everything else will be shifting, so it might make more sense than starting right at the end.

So just to answer this: personally, I would probably wait if I were you, though there's nothing stopping you from making a character if you were feeling particularly inspired. Like Arclight said, I would definitely recommend checking out those announcements since they might give you a bit to brainstorm about for a character. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
