Talia raised an eyebrow at Voren's question.

“We know the key ones. The Sith finally made their mark on the galaxy, and they show no signs of backing down. I’ll actually have to fight in the defense myself..”

It was clear she wasn’t thrilled about having to go into battle. Although she was a trained warrior, these days she preferred hunting and chasing rather than pure military engagements. Talia twirled again before returning to his arms.

“I like how you think. Yes, security will be a massively profitable sector to pursue now. Do you intend for me to fund it for capital or… run it?”

She offered him a grin. Before she could speak on it further, Caedryn made his abrupt appearance. Talia was taken aback, her eyebrows rising as he brazenly cut in. This was the Commander of the Border Alliance he was stepping on the toes of. Talia looked from Caedryn to Voren, pausing before a smile flashed across her lips.

“Forgive me, Voren, I will catch up with you. You know how to get a hold of me. However…consider me intrigued.”

With that, she allowed the Mandalorian to guide her away. She placed a hand on his shoulder, grasping his hand with the other. As they were out of earshot and began the waltz, Talia glared at him.

“Al’Saif? I thought I was Mrs. Rhone.”

Her words came as a hiss. Talia’s icy blue eyes bore into him despite her impressively graceful movements. He would be hit with a burst of her over the top expensive perfume, everything about her a stark contrast to the fury she exuded.

“What do you want? That’s an incredibly important man you just nabbed me from.”

Grasping Talia's hand as they began to waltz, his leading hand rested a hair lower than what might be considered appropriate for near strangers. As they began to waltz, Caedryn moved with a grace that would appear unnatural for one wearing armor as he was. While normally he wouldn't dance in armor, judging by the look on Talia's face he would have needed it had she had a weapon.

Smiling down at the woman as he responded to her first comment, he got a whif of her expensive perfume. "By the looks of Mrs. Rhone, she might be worried you will be." Glancing at the woman who was glaring frigidly at Talia. Turning in their waltz so that Talia could see the woman's harsh look. "Would you believe me if i said all i wanted was a dance with the hottest woman in the room? No of course not." Giving her a wink before he continued. "Was, an important man," putting an extreme emphasis on the tense of the word. "He was more intimidating as the CEO of Czerka than as the High Commander of the Border Alliance, Grand Army of the Republic. Whatever they are calling it these days."

As they dance he gave her a dip. "Has anyone told you how beautiful you are when you are furious?" Her icy glare piercing into him, likely in the same way she might wish to pierce his flesh with a blade. "Truth is, i have a job offer for you." He whispered into her ear, having moved his head next to hers. "I have a company that i need ran, newly acquired. I think you are the right woman for the job."

As the Senator from Celanon made himself present, Gregory gave the Senator a respectful, though slight bend of his form to express graciousness. The Nalroni were a curious bunch, but a species the Senator was intrigued by nonetheless. Many 'Core World' Senators seemed to have an elitist agenda within the Senate, yet one thing that differentiated Gregory from others of his kind was his sincere interest in all planets within the Republic. At least, the amount of interest a human was physically possible in investing while leading a Galactic Entity such as the Republic.

Before the Chancellor could reply to the Senator, the rather... insistent Mandalorian Mercenary spoke up once again, speaking of Saleucami and Zeltros. Gregory felt it was immensely in poor taste to try and solicit ones services at a charity function to aide those in need, but the message was received as Caedryn had intended. The fact was the Republic needed help, desperately. The GAR, though promising, was still in its formation period. Until it was shaped into a proper army, assistance was needed. That was a subject Gregory was hoping to broach with Ms. Al'Saif, yet it seemed equally clear that Caedryn made her a bit uncomfortable, resulting in her departure to speak with Senator Makr.

It was at this point that Gregory looked over at Senator H'skirr, nodding to the Nalroni before speaking (@DancingFox):
"I apologize Senator, for being so distracted. I'm very glad you could be here to represent the Nalroni, and I appreciate your concern. I find taking everything 'one day at a time' helps with the stress. And a good glass of scotch."

With a chuckle, Gregory smirked at the good Senator whilst also noticing the representative of Taris standing behind him. "Senator Tycho, a pleasure to see you as well!" @Jira

One of the massive ears twitched, sending a flash of emerald and azure fire from reflected light. Non-human features tended to be difficult to read for other species, but the sudden flick when the rest of the male's body was held to absolute stillness might indicate some degree of surprise, but he if it was so, the man declined to comment. In reality he was indeed surprised at the Chancellor's casual method of conversation, but all in all, it did indeed serve to set a different sort of mood for the Nalroni Senator. Perhaps this wasn't an entirely formal celebration? Was he overdressed? Maybe he should have worn his merchant's longcoat rather than the peacock display... No, there were plenty here that were just as well dressed.

Further words from the Chancelllor interrupted his thoughts, and he doubled check to ensure his wolfish smile was being maintained. Good good. "...Scotch?" It was said in a soft murmur and accompanied with a slight frown, but it wouldn't do to hold up the time of the most important individual in the Republic. Harath stepped aside for the next Senator, giving some polite and indistinguishable murmur and a moderate bow.

It was always good to find a familiar face in such a crowd, and the green Falleen at the bar was easy to pick out, even among the rainbow of colors being displayed today. They might not agree on many things, but it was better than nothing, and gave him a good view with which to watch the crowd for figures of note. To the bartender, be it man or droid, he ordered this thing called scotch. The the rough final consonant sound felt good, though foreign to his tongue, though he wouldn't let Hummux ( @Liam ), see anything but carefully neutral features, touched with icy tranquility. "So, do you enjoy these more... elegant gatherings?"

Hummux smiled widely as he saw Harath approach the bar from the crowd. "Senator! How have you been?" He shouted, a little too loudly, extending his arm widely to pat the Nalroni on the back as the man ordered his drink. Hummux took another sip from his glass and glanced up at the Senator. "While these events do tend to get a bit stuffy at times, I quite enjoy getting to meet so many new people from around the galaxy. Plus, what else could be more fun than drinking someone else's alcohol?" With that, he laughed loudly and gulped down the remainder of his drink. He made a mental note to perhaps pace himself a little better, as he did not want to wake up tomorrow morning in some strange apartment with no knowledge of this night.

"Speaking of drinking another's liquor, I've been meaning to ask you something for some time now. I know that we may have had our disagreements in the past, but I would love to have you over to my home some time soon. I'd love to talk the trade with you and pick your brain on a few issues. I feel that we could be very close allies in the next coming months."
Hummux's invitation was sincere, and he watched Harath's face closely, hoping to gauge the man's reaction to his request in some way.

Tycho gave a brief, respectful nod to the Chancellor, "It is an honor to be here, your excellency." Tycho gracefully selected a slender glass of liqueur from a droid waiter's tray as it passed by. "It is good to raise funds for the citizens of the Republic," Tycho sipped his drink, savoring its more subtle notes, "It is also a good time to engage in politics outside of the rotunda. Wouldn't you agree?"

Talia noticed where his hand was, but it wasn’t bad enough to warrant hitting him just yet. She kept up the visible scowl, moving in step with him and twirling when he spun her. Talia caught the glare from the woman, silently ignoring it and hoping she never had to face the woman again. She scoffed at his thinly veiled compliment, rolling her eyes.

“Get to the point.”

She allowed the dip, her eyes piercing into his. That was when she took the moment to actually look at him and take him in. He was quite appealing to look at when she removed the annoyance of his invasive personality. Pushing the thought aside, Talia mulled over his words. Another spin, another dip and a few more steps. The music turned slower and she placed her arms around his neck, narrowing her eyes.

“What kind of company? You know the position I hold now. I’m not too keen on erasing my connections with the Senate. And it needs to be better than anything Voren Makr can offer me.”

As the music slowed and Talia wrapped her arms around his neck, he couldn't help but get the feeling that she would rather be throttling the life out of him rather than dancing with him. Placing his gauntlet encased hands on her waist and slow dancing, he couldn't help but notice how small she felt in his hands. Of course her size was deceiving. Even through the gloves he wore he was well aware of the bounty hunters muscular physique concealed under the tight red dress she wore. She was an intimidating woman, and the way she narrowed her eyes at him sent a jolt of fear through his spine, and at the same time a fluttering of butterflies in his stomach. Certainly an odd combination.

"Private Military Contracting." He began, not wanting to give away everything just yet. "Of course im aware of your position Talia m'dear, why do you think i approached you with this offer? Its definitely not because i though it would get you out of that tight red dress." Chuckling at his own joke, though he knew she probably wouldn't appreciate it as much as he did. "Your connections, your talents, your business savvy. All things that would make you excellent for the position i am offering." Moving in closer with the music, tilting his head down slightly, his breath tickling her ear as he whispered into it. "You are exactly the person i want as CEO of my new company."

The Senator adopted a tight smile as what was now clearly a drunkard touched him, but his eyes flashed with an icy glare. The man, in his inebriation, didn't seem to notice it, nor the way the Nalroni stiffened at his touch. Falleen skin was always soaked in those pheremones they exuded, and it might takes weeks to ensure that his robes were sufficiently cleaned of the stench. Admittedly, tonight at least, the green skinned humanoid didn't actually smell all that bad. It seemed that the rich odor of alcohol managed to dull the intoxicating scent of the pheremones. Harath allowed himself a feeling of gratefulness for that small light in the darkness.

The male's features smoothed as his drink was discovered, and his broad tongue slipped from his muzzle to lap up a small taste. It... wasn't bad. Unusual. Food and drink from his homeworld was usually bland, simply because strong smelling foods could be overwhelming while they didn't possess as broad a range of taste as humans did. Hmmmm.

His ear twitched once as it registered that Hummux was still speaking, and he glanced over, catching the tail end of the man's words. Straightening his robes, he sat up straight. To some the way he had leaned over the bar to start lapping at his drink may have seemed degrading, but to him, it wasn't unusual, and so his dignified expression didn't seem too out of place. "Do you now, Senator," he asked in a voice that seemed mildly curious at best. "And what, mutually beneficial, topics do you think we have to discuss? If I recall correctly, Falleen is far from Celanon, and doesn't have the same difficulties as my people do. You are far from the ravages of the Sith, and have no need for worry." One painted eyebrow rose. "We do not even share the same hyperlanes, so my policies will likely have very little effect upon you."
