Hyperlane Herald - Expansion & Player Involvement
Since mid-2021, I have been posting Hyperlane Herald articles with @Voren Dhur, and (from what I have seen!) they seem to have been well received by the broader forum. However, as work has amped up for me off-site, it has become much harder to produce the quality and quantity of work that I think the Herald deserves.
Partner this with the number of requests I have recently had from players asking to get involved and produce things under the paper's banner, and I have come up with a possible solution to everyone's needs.
This thread, therefore, serves as an interest check for players to express if they would like to get involved with the Herald, as I move it from one player's posting format to everyone's.
How would this work?
If you have a journalist character, every week (by Friday each week), you can submit via forum DM an article of 500+ words on a forum thread, topic or general 'story' to @Nor'baal. I will then, alongside my own submissions, curate the submissions and edit them before slapping them into the Herald post template and posting them as one thread - using the @storyteller account, or maybe a new one called 'Hyperlane Herald' if that works - over the weekend.
Each post will have a byline (basically 'who wrote this') underneath the headline 'by Voren Dhur, @Nor'baal' to signify that your character wrote the article.
You could do this as a 'freelancer' or as a staff writer (basically meaning your character becomes a paid reporter' columnist etc, for the Herald.
If you are interested, let me know below, and I'll keep a tab of reporters. Your character can also write a column (basically expressing their opinion on something). However I'll (for the moment) say they need to be level 2 or above to have 'earned' a column (IRL it's insanely hard to get one), and they need to be a factional leader, politician or leading businessperson to do so as a guest!
(Guest writers are always welcome; DM me the article!).
