Another day, another inspection. Talos concluded, walking toward the entrance of a munition factory at the heart of Coruscant’s industrial district. The gases from the pipes were so thick continue to ascend to the sky. He grimaced, wondering how the whole planet not toxic by now.

Internal questions aside, Talos had a duty to perform demeaning as if it felt for a warrior like himself. With the war in full swing, the military wanted to make sure production in places like this were not delayed. Every bit counts so his superiors told him. Of course Barrenfist was to meet up with a Jedi before entering the factory.

Hopefully, the monk wears a proper disguise. The last we need is to scare away would-be troublemakers before we catch them. Stopping a couple of yards away from the facility on the left, Talos sat next to a wall waiting for the peacekeeper to show up.

With the Hutt and the Republic undergoing open conflict, it wasn't unusual to carry out these more mundane tasks. While the Jedi Order wasn't directly involved in the war - yet - they were willing to aid the Republic with the war effort, but in the fashion of indirect support or a simple pop in and out sort of support. That was critical to their actions, as much as the Order might have supported the Republic fully - they hadn't been formally asked to join the conflict; and Bruce would ensure that he minimized that involvement if he had to.

The lanky bardottan master had arrived on Coruscant a few day prior, but before he had returned to the sanctuary that was Tython to carry out his new responsibilities, he wanted to show an act of good will. A routine task they told him, they just needed to ensure that their production wasn't compromised because they all knew, if the Cartel wanted to strike blows - just as any war - you target logistics. The Caretaker had been told that a soldier would be conducting a more subtle inspection of a manufacturing plant; the Jedi was no fool that's for sure. Although Coruscant was a safe place for a Jedi, he wasn't willing to risk it, not anymore at least. There was a time the Jedi had wear his Jedi Robes with pride while undergoing missions, even when he probably should have made better efforts to blend with the locals. That was then, this was now, he knew the importance now.

Though previously, he often wore simple attire - an inclement weather cloak, a simple tunic and pants, something about it always kind of made him stick out - though he always ensured to conceal his signature weapon.

Today he had a beige tunic spotted with grease, wearing workman's overalls. To compliment the look, he wore a heavy duty utility jacket - common among technicians - with plenty of small tools they needed to keep at hand; and finally to accentuate and finalize the look he had a hard hat on with a self contained breathing apparatus, the kind you would wear if you needed to enter more toxic environments. He was ready to go, but the one thing was - though he had all of this stuff on, it wasn't exactly physically heavy for him and he could toss it off at a moment's notice if need be. The jacket was the closest thing he had to a cloak, and it concealed his lightsaber within the many pockets... he suspected it might actually blend him well, though his purple skin was undeniable he actually made sure to dirty his face and elongated neck to make him appear more handy then he actually was.

He hopped off of the taxi a couple of blocks away from his intended destination. He made his way through the basic crowds common within the works and soon found himself emerging freely looking at the plant a stone throw away from him. He could see a common face, a soldier he had worked with once before. Talos Barrenfist; that was clearly the one he had to meet up with - why else would he be so casually resting near a wall in a place like this?

Bruce got the silly idea of maybe trying to play with the soldier a bit, "Hey there mister. You da guy I'm 'ta meet down 'ere? You my grand tour guide? Or ye' jus' a fellar who wants to hold a wall up?" That was Bruce's attempt at trying to be a simple worker; maybe he confused Talos, they had only seen each other once - and he wasn't exactly beside him as he spoke, but he he was getting closer. No doubt he'd be recognized after a double-take and once he got closer.

No harm in having fun, right?

When the alien in worker clothes approached spoke to him, Talos raised an eyebrow in confusion and stared at the fellow’s direction. The voice sounded vaguely familiar but where he can’t recall. Just as the stranger drew closer and Talos got a better look of him, realization struck like thunder. He uttere a short chuckle and replied.

“It’s seems you glow stick wielders know how to joke after all. Never figure they send you Guleya but that works for me. Go on ahead and enter the facility. I’ll make my grand entrance in a few minutes. It should keep their attention on me while ya can work your Jedi powers without too much interference.”

Once Bruce entered the factory, the lieutenant waited ten minutes before following suit. Inside, saw the place was alive with activity from man to machine alike. With his military uniform Talos was pretty noticeable and it wasn’t long before he earned glances from the workers and other staff around the assembly. Soon enough a forty something years old human woman with bald features dressed in a purple suit walked briskly toward his direction.

Oh it’s the chief administer of this place. She’s dosen’t seem pleased to see, must not be a fan of beards. Barrenfist thought with mild amusement but kept it to himself. Soon the official was a few feet away staring with annoyance at the solider.

“So they did send an inspection after all. Fine let’s get this over with. I have a million other things than to entertain unnecessary guests.”

“Pleased to meet you as well. I’m Lieutenant Barrenfist and you are?” Talos asked with a sarcastic smile causing the woman to roll her eyes. “Verti Mor, head manger of this branch of Geni Inc. Now come with me and I’ll show that the so-called sabotage is nothing but work related accidents.”

Nodding Talos followed after Verti, qiuetly hoping he gave the a good diversion that Bruce can work with.

Bruce shrugged his shoulders at the thought of going in first. He wasn't quite sure what he was suppose to do in terms of "Jedi Powers" - this was no situation that really called for powers of some kind; this really wasn't really a combat or a need to manipulate the energies. In hindsight he probably didn't need this extensive disguise but it worked out for him more than anything.

Bruce headed into the facility and met with some technicians, the sabotage of the facility wasn't exactly unknown to the people here and Bruce played the part of a engineer sent from corporate to correct the issues; the team was quite happy that the engineer had arrived before the military inspection. The team, though confused by his species didn't think much of it and directed him to the location of the incident.

Bruce looked around the area, he really hadn't the slightest idea of what he was looking for but he pretended it was like second nature for him. If anyone expressed any lack of belief, he'd persuade them otherwise with the energies of the Force. Someone of his power would have little issue with that simple task.

Bruce would keep to himself, kind of pretending to work. A little hammering here, a little sparking over there, a little wrenching here and there. Let's be honest, he looked kind of silly doing the process. Oh well, that was how it'd go.

Soon though, soon Talos would enter the room, lead by a rather annoyed looking administrator. Bruce glanced over, but didn't say anything. He made sure however to keep an ear open as well as a eye. No one really have him details of what was going on, so instead he figured he'd get the answer from both Talos and the administrator while they talked.

During the walk through one of the loud assembly lines, Talos asked the administer. “So what happen exactly?” The official stared daggers at the man for a few seconds but replying.

“Several of our automatic machines that make shell casting started breaking down two rotations. Personally, I think it’s just malfunctions. Ya can’t trust that crap the outer rim brings back.” She pointed at the west section of the factory a few yards away.

Talos and the uncoved Bruce would note that area seems vacant saved for the automatic machines a few worried technicians examining them. Verti Mor then gestured for him to follow. Barrenfist quietly complied. Seeing them go should give Bruce a hint to follow close by.

Bruce had watched closely the two adventuring through the assembly lines and made note of the administrator's vague gesture. The bardottan looked over at the area and rose his eyebrow but quickly noticed they were heading in an opposite direction. After gathering himself a moment he began to move with the duo, watching closely to see or sense anything acting odd. He would have kept up with the two of them, had his attention not be grabbed by an urgent communique on encrypted channels from the Jedi Order and it's High Council.

Bruce would have liked to help and see this through to the end, but the communique needed his attention by far more than a potential sabotage and the chance to make up a connection within an arms facility in the event the Jedi needed to have that kind of access. Bruce sighed heavily but tapped his comm to send Talos a stealth comm, "Lieutenant. My apologies... something has come up. I cannot continue, but I have a contact. A bothan who I had talked to before coming down, he knows what you look like and he'll help. He's infiltrated the factory prior to our arrival. Be safe, May the Force be with you."

Bruce had turned around as he delivered the message and was already departing the facility. He should have a clean getaway, but he didn't exactly feel good about leaving.

Vesc hadn't done much with the Jedi and he'd only run into the weird purple alien months ago during an open market. The alien seemed to be good, but he yammered on about the Force and other spiritual talks - stuff the Bothan had little care about. But even so, he was polite and very informative over their exchange. He thought he might have secured a good future contract of some kind, but hey no one would know for sure.

He hadn't heard much back from the alien until just recently. Things had gotten a little heated in the core so the bardottan had given the Bothan a call - it had been a long time. At first Vesc had no real interest, but when he was told that he was heading into the Works to an arms factory - oh by the fur on his chin he couldn't pass up the opportunity to score some insight into weapon's manufacturing, maybe even score a secret project or two. The opportunists were golden and this furball wasn't going to give that up.... and the credits being offered were nice as well.

All he had to do was pretend to be a specialist... which he was; and get into the factory. He had to do a little smooth talking and a little bribery but here he was, deep within the arms factory. He was accessing a terminal in the middle of the assembly line. He was reviewing the code and casually accessing their draft works. He quickly exited out of all the stuff once the administrator entered the room though. Vesc slipped into the lines and pocketed his datadisk as he did his best to remove himself from view.

Soon though, he caught Talos glancing at him, the bothan simply nodded at him and casually pointed in a direction. That was where he needed to go, if he could find a way to convince the administrator to take him there or at least be free of her... if he couldn't find a way, no doubt Vesc would have to create a distraction... something he was planning right now.

At least the Jedi left him some help. The last thing Talos wanted to spent another minute with this stubborn glorified clerk. Catching the mentioned Bothan’s eye and gesture, the marine nodded back as if in greeting. Glancing over he saw it was a control room with glass window and a door to the right.

With a new objective in sight Talos spoke. “Manger perhaps we can inspect the control room over on the left.”Verti Mor shook her head. “That won’t be necessary. Security has already there and found nothing let me guide you to the actual site of the problem.”

What a schutta. Thought Talos, hoping Vesc does something soon or he just punch the manger in the face.

Vesc could see the poor position they were currently in. He would need to set off some form of distraction in order to have his contact freely join him. Vesc sighed heavily, things never got simple. Vesc moved through the lines casually, he stopped a moment and looked down at a datapad in his hands, passing it off as checking a report - Vesc tapped in a code and lowered the pad. He continued on his way like nothing was out of the ordinary, and after about 15 seconds, a steam vent ruptured across the room with a loud crack. Steam rushed out and caught a worker and his partner causing superficial burns to their exposed skin, no sooner did that happen oil began to leak from another pipe.

Vesc was good at this, he had designed these two issues to act as if they were a natural machine failure due to lack of maintenance. But they were both controlled, they would be a small inconvenience for the plant but the point was to get their attention away from Talos.

As the incident happened, Vesc walked off in the direction he had motioned earlier. Nobody was none the wiser and few noticed a simple Bothan in the mess of a large factory.

The two ‘accidents’ set off by Vesc did the trick. The administer shocked rushed over to the commotion, along with many of the workers. Everyone part of the facility were occupied with what happen, giving Talos the chance he needed. If that furball drinks I’ll buy him some beer after this. Thought Barrenfist in quiet reminder, rushing over to the control room.

The spaceborn nodded thanks to the Bothan close by and silently gesture for him to watch out for trouble.

As he approached and found the door locked Talos only smirked. Bringing out entrance card he stole from the official while she wasn’t looking, the lieutenant entered inside without further trouble. The marine went for the main panel and began pulling up footage from the two nights ago but there was nothing but blank screen. Suspicious, Talos found the deleted section and recovered the clip.

To his outrage he watched a small team of shadow covered intruders around the plant and messing the machinery. What really gotten the man’s attention was when four minutes into the clip he saw the group ambushed and murdered a security guard and Verti Mor by strangulation. The most shocking part was when one of the saboteurs, a Clawdite shape shifted into the clerk.

As he stopped the footage, Talos saw the fake Verti outside looking at him in horrified realization. Immediately she began to run and Talos sprang out the room with pistol in hand. “Halt or I shoot!” The lieutenant declared as he chased after the imposter. When she refused to complied Barrenfist aimed and fired three stun bolts into her center mass. The fake official dropped the floor and much to everyone’s utter surprise changed back to her true form.

Catching up Talos looked down at the fallen woman and remarked. “We’re going to have a nice long chat when you wake up.”
