(Battle Droids on Dorin)​

The droids were inactive...for now, at least. These 'state of the art' model really were terribly pathetic - one could see why there were very few droids in the galaxy, as these battle models were a shockingly bad mockery of humans. Sharing one artificial intelligence beamed down from an orbital satellite meant they all pretty much thought in exactly the same way. Their slugthrower rifles could be a problem...if the idiots held them properly. The only real problem with this battle was the location. Dorin was a particularly unpleasant world, the atmosphere unbreathable to the majority of sentients. The rocky terrain could also cause some problems - it was largely an open plain, but several rocky outcrops and mesas dotted the landscape, allowing some cover.​

Indigo adjusted her mask and nearly choked...again. The harsh atmosphere outside really wasn't pleasant to anyone, but her heightened senses were being given a bucketload of problems every time she tried to make the full mask more comfortable. The black mask lacked any detail, save two tinted eye visors and a small vocalizer/rebreather unit over her mouth. Her voice was largely the same, but carried a tinny echo to it. Not that such details rally were important.

Around her, the droids remained inactive, save the small group that had escorted her to the location. Their presence was threefold - one, as a guide that could not be talked to, and therefore could not divulge information on the match; two, to make sure the inidividual team members were not ambushed during their trip to the location; and finally, once all four were there, the droids would be nice and close to shoot at the target they had escorted to the battle.​

 

[Niner]

Kal brushed past the droid, his perfectly fitting mask not even slipping. He had considered taking the mask that was supplied for this planet, but had decided to buy one of his own. The lenses were tinted and stopped the glare from hurting his eyes. He had another in one of his belt pouches, for his partner. He checked his blasters and made sure they were fully charged, then checked to make sure his sword was sharp.

As the group of droids marched him up to his partner one of them pushed him to the ground, to roll across the ground to his partners feet. He looked up into the ugly black mask, stood up and said, "Kal Jericho, at your service." He looked at the cheap mask again, how could she even see through that thing?
"Here," he said, handing her the other high quality mask he had, "Take this."

Foran wasn't used to this sort of thing, but the prospect of fighting in an arena like this filled him with excitement. Even on a barren world like this one with battle droids nearby and two foes in front of him, he was looking forward to this fight. The only question was his teammate; would this Valtiere be an acceptable match for him? He rarely teamed with anyone outside the Republic...

There wasn't enough time to really give much thought to the whole thing. He wiped some dust that had accumulated on his visor, giving him a fresh outlook to the arena. He turned and saw that the battle droids that had accompanied him here were standing complacently, concealing their true nature. He turned to get a good look at his enemies. Hopefully they'd put up a competitive fight.

 

[Will]

Ivan Valtiere fiddled with the final strap on the damned mask. He hated these things, they made him sweat so. He saw the armoured man who was to be his team mate. He looked like he would be good in this match, with droids blasting at them, although they looked to be poor shots, as many held their rifles awkwardly. He shrugged, and peered therough the dust to his enemies. ''Got any plans?'' He simply asked his ally, the sand whipping at his coat.

 

[Green Ranger]

Indigo waved the mask away wordlessly. She would rather deal with the uncomfortable mask than hold her breath fiddling with getting the old one off and a new one on...suffocation was never a pleasant experience.

'Indigo. I'll take the armored fellow,' she murmured quietly. Suddenly, the droids all around the four of them activated, their heads rising up to take in the targets. Each droid escort group suddenly aimed inwards to target the competitor in the middle of their little circle.

'Showtime,' she said quietly before thrusting her hands to either side of her, slamming the droids around her with a wave of kinetic energy as they fell back in tangled heaps. Her hands crackled with energy as she awaited her competitors' first mvoe.

 

[Niner]

"Well, I guess that leaves me with the guy in the coat." The droids started to bring up their blasters and Kal dove to one side, firing three shots into one droid and bringing it down, he then turned and fired a quick burst at the man in the coat (Drun0riginal). It was maximum range for the pistols, and Kal didn't expect them to hit, it was more of a detterent.

 

[Niner]

((I think the order is Boli, Me, Duncan, then you. Or at least we are supposed to post as teams I think.))

"Uhh... I don't think there is a plan. Just watch each others' backs and we'll get out of this with a victory."

Before he could even think to say anything else, the match had already begun! He drew his rifle instinctively and ducked his head as he heard the tumultuous sound of metal droids crashing to the ground. Already his foes had struck their targets!

Lashing out with the instinct training had imbued in him, Williams lowered his shoulder and rushed directly into the droid in front of him, bringing him crashing down in front of him. The other droids tried to compensate for their target having left their midst, but Williams was already on the move. He ran from the droids and from his opponents; not so far that he was out of the arena or anything, just to put some space in between him and his opponents. As he ran, he also unslung his blaster rifle; obviously he was going to need it.

 

[Will]

Ivan nodded, drawing his sword and pistol, killing the droids around him, clashing to the ground as twisted heaps, blackened with carbon scoring. He did the same to the others, as pistol shots from his opponent came flying his way. Ivan smiled, baring his fangs ''Biiiig mistake.'' Ivan used the droids he felled as shields, moving slowly towards the armoured man.

Indigo whirled around quickly as a silver flash sliced two droids behind her in half, quickly resheathing the blade before placing her palm on the torso of another droid, blasting the centre unit of the droid clean away from head and limbs. And then...she flew. Levitation was never an easy thing, there were a lot of factors that required consideration, and in reality it wasn't great in combat unless you had really perfected it.

Regardless, Indigo tried her hand at it. Aerial comat could put her at an advantage against the armored fellow, but she really didn't know. Quickly she pursued after him in the hopes of reaching him before his ally did - she didn't exactly want to face two combatants at the same time, but it would most likely take the bounty hunter a while to catch up.

 

[Niner]

Kal watched his partner speed off in the direction of their opponents, "Oh bugger." he muttered to himself. Then he started sprinting across the dry dusty plain towards the pirate, screaming at the top of his lungs. As he got closer he fell to his side and skidded along the ground parallel to the pirate, firing his blasters all the while, hoping to catch him offguard with the strange firing direction.

 

[Will]

Ivan held the droid, watching the man fall into a sideslip, shooting. He turned with him, the droid holding up against the barrage. He threw it at the man, drawing his sword. ''Let's do this properly.'' He yelled, grinning widely.

"You got it" Kal shouted back, he holstered his twin blasters and drew the sword at his waist, dropping into the openign stance of Ataru. He liked this agressive form because he knew that the armor mesh in his jacket would turn almost any strike except a strait thrust. "I hope you're ready for this." After saying that he rushed forward into a opening thrust at the pirates chest.
