Hayvan sat meditating on the grass planet of Dantooine. Actually, he was about 100 feet from a river that led to the sea about 20 miles away. Surprisingly enough, Dantooine had a surface of 70% water, especially for a planet known for its grassy plains. Also, there was a large forest of Blba trees half a mile to the south. Adding to the unexpected terrain of Dantooine, Hayvan was sitting in a minefield. It extended a mile from where he was sitting all around him. He hadn't checked if there were mines in the water but it was likely. Fortunately, he had sonar so he could see the mines if he pulled his visor down to see it.

Despite all the hazards of his environment, they were mere terrain compared to his opponent, a Shadourian master. This would be a problem as Hayvan was fairly ignorant of Shadourians and knew little of their ways. Still, he did know some things such as they were a neutral group and they were force users. Also, Jace was the last of them so he would probably have reason to win as to show that Shadourians were still alive and so he could recruit more to the cause.

His lack of knowledge was a direct contrast to his last opponent who was a jedi padawan. Hayvan had been a padawan not too long ago and knew the strengths and weakness's of that stage. With a foreign opponent, Hayvan would have to guess at the weaknesses and strengths until they were revealed. However, Hayvan did know something, Jace had a katana that could stand lightsabers, also, he had some pistol. He knew that from reading about the other duels that had gone on before.

So then Hayvan continued to wait and connect with the force waiting for his opponent to appear.

How familiar, Jace thought with a smile.

It had not been long since his last duel, and the atmosphere of this planet seemed all too welcoming. The sea breeze drifted over the grassy plains, some of the higher grass slowing the currents that swam over the ocean for days. Pollen lifted into the air like an airship, screening through his thick, brown hair. The sun was not quite as harsh today, so perhaps fading into the environment wouldn't be as hard. He stood almost a half mile from his opponent, stopping every few hundred feet to simply take in the environment, and fully embrace the peace that this planet brought him.

Being a well-trained Shadourian, he could easily use the Force as a subjugate to his eyes. They were trained with blindfolds for years. But Jace believed this was quite a step to harmony. One need not rely on their instinctive senses. And as everyone knew, human senses can be quite deceiving. For example, Jace was not a large man. He was not tall, or overly muscular. But this is simply an appearance, and the strength of a person truly lies within. And the Force complimented his strengths.

He was not rushed to enter the battle. Though he was taking his time approach his opponent, it would be quite rude for the man to say anything about his delay. However, Jace was offended by nothing. He would not let anyone destroy the peace he has found. He guarded it more closely than his life. Though he was not old by any means, he did not need to prove himself. He entered this contest on a whim, and did so for practice. Plus, he especially loved to meet new people. He was quite observant, and that was probably one of his greatest strengths. It had made him quite wise in his years.

With every step he took, the Force flushed out of his feet and into the ground surrounding him. This was how he chose to be watchful of the mines for now. He did not need any contact with the ground to sense them, though. He had all of the equipment he usually had. Asutoron katana, lightsaber, handgun, and a few other knick-knacks. One of his favorite knick-knacks was his tiny electrical charges. He made them himself, and used them before he had been properly trained in the ways of the Force. Though he did not need them, they had saved his life numerous times, and he brought them as a precaution.

As he finally came within about ten feet of his opponent, he watched him meditate intently. He liked the simple idea of his existence. He was a Jawa, but he did not look to be like the others of his species. The simple act of meditating proved that. But Jace was sure he wouldn't judge him by his appearance. For all he knew, this Jawa could be a killing machine, or more peaceful like himself. To be respectful, Jace knelt in the grass, waiting for his opponent to return to consciousness. He himself did not like to be interrupted when meditating.

As Hayvan was still meditating in the force, he heard the light steps of of his opponent. As his opponent got close to him, Hayvan stood up.

"Hello Jace," Hayvan said cheerfully ready for his upcoming fight.

Hayvan saw his brown haired opponent. Though he didn't look particularly scary, looks could be deceiving as Hayvan knew. It was fairly obvious to him as he was a jedi jawa and could often surprise people with that fact.

Thinking further back to past, he recalled that a bit after he went through the operation, he did apply for Shadourian membership and it was possible that Jace could have been his master. He simply had a lack of response from the Shadourians that he decided to become a jedi. How ironic that a simple turn of fate could change so many things.

As he geared up for his fight, he began inserting strength and dexterity stimulants. The strength stim was very necessary as he normally had the strength of a kindergarten child. The dexterity one was less necessary as Hayvan was already very fast but it would simply make it even more. Also, there was a fairly new stim that he recently bought. It was called smart pain, basically, it made sure that pain would not be so overpowering that it hampered movement but made sure that it was felt when needed so he would notice the problem and do something about it.

Hayvan then waited for Jace to respond and suggest the terms that they would work out.
