Good Evening Jedi!

There is a lot to talk about since a lot has happened in the recent weeks, which is great, I’m glad to see members getting rolling in missions and battles. However, with the large Anoth battle currently ongoing, there will be several large changes coming to the Order, this includes how training will be done, where their homes will be, how to contact council members, the archives, etc, etc. It won’t be all done overnight and in the next week or so, closer to the end of the Anoth battles, those changes should start to be announced.

Attack on Anoth & the fate of the Jedi Temples

As stated in the Attack on Anoth OoC announcement, this battle had been in planning for a long time and I’m really excited to see a good number of you participating. As many have pointed out, yes we will not be able to stay on Anoth, the Jedi will have to leave. This goes for Arbra as well, which will be evacuated and abandoned. The Jedi will be left to wander for some time until new enclaves are established, but even when they are established, they won’t be permanent locations, requiring the Order to keep moving.

Also with the Anoth Temple under attack, please recognize this if you are still training and avoid posting anymore training threads at Anoth because we will be locking that board. Once the board is locked and you wish to still finish the training thread, PM me, and I can move the thread to the Arbra board until that one is locked also.

So without the Jedi temples, the Jedi will obviously be homeless, but not broken like they were during the ten-year skip. We won’t be undoing all that. Thus with that in mind, we’ll be looking at different approaches to how your padawans will be gaining their training, how the archives will be handled and how the council will remain in touch with one another as well as members of the Order. Definitely an interesting twist, but it will give more the desperation of the dire need to work with others who oppose the Sith Imperium.

Rebels

So with the falling of the temples and the Jedi having no home, this will initiate for the Jedi to work closer with the Rebels. Come after the Attack on Anoth we will be holding more joint missions with the Rebellion since the Meeting on Tokmia should sprout the Grand Master and former Chief of State to set aside differences in order to create an alliance with one another once more.

This should pave way for better Jedi-Rebel relations. They still won’t be great, and Rebels may still harbor some hard feelings, but things should grow better as the story progresses.

Jedi Shadows

The Shadows have been disbanded; we will not be accepting anymore applications. There were many reasons for this, including their current purpose. With the missions they were assigned to do, a lot of it involved things that non-Shadow members can do and therefore I had a hard time distinguishing shadow work and normal Jedi work. It was becoming redundant and to save trouble and delegate more missions to the Order in general, it was decided the Shadow would be discontinued.

So, overall everyone in the Order should be helping with keeping it safe. That means looking out for one another, reporting suspicious activity, helping with security, etc, etc. We will still have infiltration missions, but Jedi will be approached by the Council for such tasks. The Antarian Rangers are still welcomed within the Order, however, I will be suggesting more non-Force Sensitives to sign up with the Rebellion due to increased relations with the faction.

From an IC perspective, the disbanding of Shadows would have been perceived the same way by the Grand Master, as in, every Jedi should be helping with the tasks that they do.

Council Positions & Master Titles

With the disbanding of the Shadows, this also means we will be eliminating one of the council seats: ie Shadow Keeper. Some of the responsibilities will be absorbed by the other members on the Council, mainly with the Watch Master position. Then of course, some of the Master titles will be eliminated as well or moved around to be under a new council member.

We will have an almost full council come post Anoth. Amy (ScarletTweed) had accepted the position as Sage Master a couple weeks ago and then following Anoth, Ben, who has been working behind the scenes mostly, will accept the position as Battle Master. I have ideas who I will be looking to fill the role as Watch Master, but that chair is still open.

NJO Misconceptions

Lately I have been hearing and seeing too many misunderstandings about the New Jedi Order, mainly about philosophies that specifically belong to the Old Order and not the new one. The two are significantly different and this needs to be recognized. It is explained in a couple areas in the Jedi boards such as the Second Pillar in the Jedi Philosophies and the article that specifically addresses the misunderstandings called Common Misconceptions of the New Jedi Order.

However, Amy and I will be going back through the second pillar to clear up some confusion some may be finding when it comes to the Jedi code. After reviewing it, the wording seems deceptive and therefore probably just needs to be tweaked so it can better explain which code is used currently by the NJO.

So, with that being said, I hope to work on more cosmetic aspects of the board in the next week since things have settled with stuff in my personal life - for now at least.

As always though if you have questions, comments, suggestions, or haterade, post them away!

I know I am guilty of the last part so for that I apologize. I have made an effort to re-read all of the above documents. Other that I am really excited to see the story moving and can't wait to start working with the rebels.

ANYWHO. Can't wait to see how the Jedi pick up the pieces this time, and come back twice as hard this time around.
