I have an idea for a Sentinel character and wanted to clear up something before getting too attached to it.

Would bounty hunter be an acceptable cover? So long as they made sure only to deal with reputable clients, never killed their marks when possible, and gave their earnings to the needy? I totally understand how it could bring up some issues, so I am open to other options.

That should be fine, I believe @Phoenix has something similiar with his Jedi character.

I think that's fine. My Jedi is a Shadow who uses a cover as a bounty hunter as well sometimes, so as long as he is serving Jedi principles and whatnot, I don't think it would be an issue

Apologies if this is bad etiquette, but it seemed logical to post my questions here rather than start another topic...

Me and a couple of other people are thinking of forming a group of Jedi Sentinels on Corellia.

So
1) What kind of oversight do the Sentinels have? Do they have any kind of central leadership, or are they all independent?

I found this:
"Sects of the Order

The Jedi, wracked by a century of war are a shadow of their former glory. With their numbers reduced to a roughly a thousand, they are fractured in their beliefs, methodologies and teachings. Scattered throughout the galaxy, the Sects of the Jedi continue their efforts to destroy heir dark brethren, rebuild the Jedi, and protect the galaxy. With each Jedi following their own path, they have gathered in groups of likeminded individuals, forming Sects that differ greatly in what they perceive course of action for the Jedi."
Sounds like the Sects have no leaders.
Does that mean that Sentinels would not be assigned to go somewhere by any high authority? Basically, the Jedi are all independent, going where they feel like?

2) What happened to Corellia in the war? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

3) Would it be feasible to start up a Jedi enclave on Corellia eventually?
Or would that conflict with being a Sentinel?

Thank you :)

1) It would be treated like an NPC group, meaning that you wouldn't have complete control or oversight of the sect, but you can do plots to gain that influence. You can get other players to join you in your stories.

More information on plots page: Link

2. More information can be found here on the planets.

3. You could, but you will need to submit a plot in order to plan out process and get it approved.

If you are doing stuff on Corellia @MattBloggs Let me know! I'm not a Jedi but my cop is focused on Corellia, so I don't think he would have any objection to helping the jedi find some Exiles.

Hi Shax.
Very sorry, but we are not hunting exiles. If you really want someone to rp with, I could think up a character to work with yours. I was going to make a cop at some point. So was @Mr.BossMan , but I think he's busy at the moment.

Pm me if you like.

Nope that's my mistake, whenever I think of Sentinels/shadows I automatically think of hunting exiles. And don't feel obligated to think up a character on my behalf. Though I still would be interested in working with you on some stuff.

<.< Sei'Ja'Ku is accustomed to hunting Exiles. But she sorta needs people to fight for her while she acts as their support. >.>

@Kyo'kou
I thought that your character is going to be a Sentinel?

If I understand correctly, by definition that means not hunting or chasing after the exiles... We are meant to be passive.

"Jedi Sentinels
The Jedi Sentinels are protectors, humanitarians, and most importantly, servants of the light side of the Force. These Sentinels split from the Jedi Guardians after the Tragedy at Ilum, unwilling to abandon the people of the galaxy to cower behind walls. Refusing to leave the denizens of the galaxy unprotected, these Sentinels dwell among the people, sharing their lives, working the fields on agriworlds or walking the streets of sprawling urban planets, ever watchful for their exiled foes as they protect and nurture the populations among which they live.

The beliefs of the Jedi Sentinels are ones of duty, versatility, and passivity. The sentinels believe that it is the duty of the Jedi to protect the people, first and foremost.."

Our story will involve helping the people of Corellia and maybe training Jedi in the future, won't it?

That's why I replied to Shax in that way.

@GABA Ren
Sorry to bother you, but could a Jedi Sentinel who was formerly a Crusader type still hunt exiles whilst being a Sentinel?
The two things seem diametrically opposed, but I could be thinking in too much of a monochromatic way (black and white). I tend to do that. :)

Not really, it sounds out of character for the sect. If they were hunting exiles, they'd be closer to the shadow sect. However, Sentinels may go in the manner of seeking out their fallen brethren to return them to the light, but not necessarily kill them if they refuse to return to the Order.
