Johnny Finger's Custom Armor

Johnny’s armor is crafted in such a way that he can wear it under his duster. It’s entirely made out of durasteel, and provides enough protection while still allowing for flexible movements, and comes with a Thermal Undersuit. Please note that the helmet in the picture has a slightly different shape in the RP, as the front is shaped like a skull (see profile). The helm protects his head and has a Survival HUD installed as well as a Voice Scrambler. His right bracer has a Concealed Blade in case of emergency. On each side of the torso-piece sit two pouches containing Johnny’s ammo. He has a bag strapped to his right leg for additional ammo. Alternatively, the bag could hold a medkit or even a grenade, depending on the situation.

LEGALITY

Legal for the most part. The Concealed Blade might be illegal in some parts of the galaxy.

INTENT

Seeing as Johnny has a distinct wild west look, I needed to give him armor that he could realistically wear under his duster while still having some useful protective and offensive functions.

ADVANCED TECH
No.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium

Coverage:

  • Head: Front and back of the head and neck.
  • Torso: Chest, abdomen, shoulders.
  • Right arm: Front and back of the upper right arm, and elbows.
  • Left arm: Front and back of the upper left arm, and elbows.
  • Hands: Hands, wrists and forearms.
  • Feet: Feet, shins and calves.

Functions

Function 1: Survival HUD
  • Reads atmosphere composition and detects toxins.
Function 2: Voice Scrambler
  • For the unusually paranoid, this helmet function can scramble a person's voice to unintelligible garbage, while allowing commlink conversations to continue as normal. Alternatively, it can be used to "digitize" a voice into a deep bass tone.
Function 3: Thermal Undersuit
  • Thermal undersuits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.
Function 4: Concealed Blade
  • Concealed blades are typically 4-6 inches in length and lock into place once extended. They are almost always placed along the fore-arm or boot. They are no substitute for true combat knives as the locking mechanism can break under strong impacts. Still, some people enjoy them as a helpful backup.
