History of the Enterprise
The founding of Kavaan Enterprises began approximately 230 standard years ago, with Halleg Kavaan. Halleg Kavaan was a member of the Atorian Council, the ruling government body of the Atorian State. As the time, Halleg a member of a board in charge of Ator's starship development. After several years on the board, Halleg proposed to advance the development of Ator's starship technology. Compared to the majority of the galaxy, especially the fellow Core Worlds, Ator's starships were behind, technologically, and most ships for Ator had to be imported from the nearby Core Worlds. After two months of debate about giving a single person so much power, Halleg was given authorization over the Atorian Board of Interstellar Development.
Under his official command, Halleg looked over the schematics for the vast amount of different ship designs in the galaxy and started a new division in ABIN, Atorian starship manufacturing. In ten years, Ator had effectively stopped the need to import foreign ships. After the success of Halleg's leadership he'd, in a bold move, personally dissolved the ABID, taking direct control over the interstellar development and shipyards. In short order, the Atorian Council summoned Halleg for his unauthorized termination of the board. After probating Halleg until his fate was decided, he was brought before the Atorian Council. He was allowed to continue exercising ownership over the interstellar development, but was expelled from the Atorian Council.
By the third year after Halleg's ownership over Ator's ship development program, he had reformed it into a corporation, called Kavaan Enterprises, and the starship manufacturing division was named Kavaan Orbital Shipyards. The company flourished under Halleg, and continued under his son, Aahlur I. During the reign of Aahlur III, Kavaan Enterprises entered it largest expansion ever. Though still strongly tied with the Atroian State, Kavaan Enterprises, and its brother-division, Kavaan Orbital Shipyards, became the starship merchants of the Core World regions. Throughout the years, Kavaan Enterprises continued to grow in wealth, reaching its current peak of prosperity with the war known as the Alsakan Crisis, during the ownership of Aahlur Kavaan IV.

Due to the company's past and origins, Kavaan Enterprises, specifically its branch company, Kavaan Orbital Shipyards, has a long-standing history of affiliation with Ator's military. As the only shipwrights of Ator, the Atorian State military depends heavily on Kavaan Orbital Shipyards for their naval defense fleet. In turn, much of Kavaan Enterprises' militarist security force, both ground and space forces, stems from Ator's military. Because of their relationship, the Atorian State military was the sole entity which had exclusive rights to the space-worthy vessels of Kavaan Orbital Shipyards. It was not until the time of Aahlur Kavaan III that Kavaan Orbital Shipyards was allowed to produce vessels for other armed forces, specifically the Galactic Republic.
To this day, Kavaan Enterprises still possesses a strong ties with the Atorian State military, though has produced many military vessels for the Galactic Republic. Since the Alsakan Crisis, the demand for space-worthy military vessels turned out to be a prosperous time for Kavaan Enterprises, as the call for warships grew. During the war, Kavaan Enterprises saw enormous growth in wealth and prosperity, spreading their power and influence beyond Ator. However, the Atorian State still put much restriction on who Kavaan Enterprises could manufacture starships for until the end-rule of Aahlur Kavaan III, when the owner broke the political hold on the company before handing it down to Aahlur Kavaan IV.

Kavaan Enterprises (sometimes abbreviated as KE) headquarters was, naturally, located on the ecumenopolis world of Ator. Kavaan Enterprises headquarters was largely a massive-multilevel research facility, extending high into the air, far above most skyscrapers on Ator's surface. Aahlur Kavaan directly controls the Kavaan empire from his office in the corporate building. Along with Aahlur himself, most of the corporate leaders of Kavaan Enterprises control the functions of the company's systems and inner-workings from Ator's surface. Kavaan Enterprises' main research priorities revolve around hyperdrive advancement, sublight engine drives, deflector shields, and other associated technology.
Kavaan Orbital Shipyards (often abbreviated as KOS), the branch corporation from Kavaan Enterprises, is largely controlled by Aalhur Kavaan himself on Ator's surface, with occasional visits, venturing from the planet to the shipyard. Though often referred to by the name of its "father" company, Kavaan Enterprises, which researches interstellar starship development, Kavaan Orbital Shipyards is an immensely-sized interstellar manufactory which orbits the planet of Ator itself. It is composed of several hundreds of levels with numerous facilities within. Along with starship construction and manufacturing, Kavaan Orbital Shipyards also possessed many supply and maintenance docks, and was the main medium for transporting trade from other worlds to Ator's surface. The Kavaan Orbital Shipyards also was held several repair/reconstruction docks, making it an effective center for starships within the Core Worlds.
