Kendall stood in place, bouncing his heels off the ground upon his weighted toes. His fingers rolled in near fists at his sides, edgy in anticipation of his opponent's arrival into the Temple's training room. A simple square in design, the large room contains small objects such as swords, mats, and racks. Shirtless, as Kendall often went when in the training rooms, his training saber ready to be retrieved at his side.

Solen breathed deeply as he entered the training room, contemplating his plan of attack. No, don't plan, Juyo is the way of obscurity... His yellow lightsaber felt light in his hands, and the hood of his white robe covered all but his mouth and jaw. "Prepare yourself." As serious as ever, the padawan held the crackling yellow blade near his head, pointed at his opponent. Both hands were firmly gripping the hilt, surging with the Force. "Should we start with the blade?"

Taking a step back, Kendall buzzed his simple blue lightsaber to its full length and lifted it around over his head. Ataru would be his attempt today, he thought with a genuine smile at his opponent. "Sounds good!"

He pounded out three steps of a run straight at his adversary to then leap off of his left. His right foot reached out at Solen's left knee (not to kick, but to hopefully jump off of), as he reversed the direction of his lightsaber with a clockwise rotation that would swipe over his leg and at Solen's left hip. This single attack, two hands gripping the hilt, would stem from his lifting left elbow in order to spin the blade down with a twist of his torso.

Solen saw the incoming attack, and swiped his leg away with a spin, throwing his opponent to the side as if it were an exercise. "Ataru, way of the Hawk-bat. Similar to Juyo in it's fluid movements, but surely you can't believe you will defeat my technique." Something slightly dark shimmered in Solen, who was able to fully immerse himself in lightsaber combat. Ever since his mission on Ryloth, he had been almost dependent on his lightsaber.

The young Jedi took a step back, allowing his opponent to pick himself up. Solen stepped back into his starting position, waiting for any pending attack.

((Prepare for a lightsaber anus whooping. Hope he's more powerful in the Force.))

Simply landing on his feet with ease, nothing obscuring his movement, Kendall looked at the cocky Jedi. Stepping out of the way wasn't something Kendall expected a Juyo user to do, though he knew little enough that nothing would surprise him.

"All I can do is try", he said with a challenge in his smiling energy. There was nothing he loved more than a challenge, especially in dueling. Here was the perfect opportunity in his beginning stages of training to help him decide between Juyo and Ataru.

Swirling down at Solen's legs, Kendall spun a leg sweep across the floor while simultaneously spinning his blade horizontally - parallel to the leg sweep and in unison with its motion, his arm would stretch up as the single slash would rise as it cut left to right. All of this possible with a left hand pivoting off of its palm, as one swift swirling motion.

The attack was surprisingly fierce, but Solen knew how to react. He spread his right leg down against the sweep, pivoting his foot under his opponents leg and guiding it towards his torso. As he did this, his yellow blade came forward, blocking the incoming lightsaber. Solen used the momentum to spin as he grabbed hold of the leg, throwing his opponent again. As the Jedi flew towards the wall, Solen leaped after him, lightsaber forward.

Kendall was flung towards the wall. Trying to kick with his free leg before tossed fully, had not worked and he rolled out of the air to his seat. Seeing the Jedi leap through air, Kendall reached out and grabbed Solen's lightsaber hilt overlapping a part of his hand as he kicked into the Jedi's gut for a back roll that would throw the Jedi back behind him and into the wall. Kendall would rip away the lightsaber as he pushed off with his feet, and kip up to a stand as he made some distance between the two.

Kendall's attack was successful, and Solen found himself without a weapon in the middle of the air. As his feet collided with the wall, he pushed off and landed a few feet away from his opponent. "Your reflexes are notable, but if you'd please..." Solen whipped his lightsaber out of Kendall's hand, and caught it.

Solen leaped forward, and stopped in front of his opponent. He took a slow breathe, and placed his lightsaber near his left hip, still grasping the pommel and caressing the emitter switch. He was waiting, as if to draw a sword.

Turning around, Kendall gathered a pulsating energy in his left; having thought to hit Solen while he was down. But as he lept over before Kendall, it was released into a Force push just as Solen's feet touched the ground.

Leaving no time for the Force push to settle, Kendall spun immediately into a 180 clockwise with his lightsaber swirling behind his back for a rotating slash out of the spin. His momentum would carry this one hard left to right slash; though the push might have knocked his opponent away, he would just slash at air and follow.

"I was under the impression this was a battle of the blades..." Solen's voice rang around the Force push he had worked hard to dodge. As Kendall's blue lightsaber neared, Solen stretched both hands forward, causing his own blade to cushion the blow and slow the attack to a dead stop. He bumped his opponent's saber aside, and slashed with his own in the shape of an x before spinning and delivering a final slash from left to right.

"Very well, full integration indeed." The young Jedi stepped away from his opponent, and charged what energy he could into his arms and hands.

Flipping back onto his hands out of Solen's bump, then popping further onto his feet, a distance had increased between them as Solen's saber whirled in an 'X' shape to further slash at where Kendall last was.

"We 'started' there." Kendall agreed with a smirk, seeing no wrong in adding the incorporation into the duel.

And here came Solen's force attack. Kendall stood at the ready, building the Force in his left hand; ready to counter the Jedi however he could.

Solen slammed his arms forward, and a wave of energy burst from his hands, hopefully pushing Kendall back. Without thinking, Solen then used the Force to leap toward his prey with great speed. As his feet touched the ground, he whirled his blade around him, releasing the weight of his inertia into the spin and striking furiously in several positions before hopping back and raising his lightsaber to defend the soon coming onslaught.

((I would have to say so, only because I have a training saber. If yours is found and assembled, then we can pretend you set yours on my level? If that's okay?))

Oh the beauty of the force push! Having watched Solen prepare his wave of energy, Kendall didn't expect to fair evenly - as he was not so adept in the force as Solen. And in so using his natural and practiced gifts of acrobatic precision, Kendall twisted back into a horizontal triple spin - back with the wave of force, still harnesing the force within his awaiting left hand. As he let cascade the majority of energy over and across his body through the air, he simply was carried with the wave; to land with his ace up his sleeve. As Solen's feet touched the ground, having 'leaped forward without thinking', Kendall reached up to release his weaker yet unexpected force push right into Solen's abdomen. Thinking to unleash several slashes, Solen would have jumped right onto a sucker punch... so to speak - that would knock the wind out of him just as Kendall replaced his feet with a precise balance.

Kendall lifted his lightsaber to defend himself, ready to attack should Solen await his coming this time.

A flash, and then darkness. Solen opened his eyes and flipped backward before he landed. He'd been hit straight in the face, he even ducked into the punch. Damn...

Solen sheathed his lightsaber, which was rare in a fight. He reached out towards the pillars nearby, each about two meters in height, and the width of a grown man. Pulling with all his might, he finally freed the columns of marble, which consequentially crashed down where his opponent was previously standing.

Freakin' out, Kendall reacted to the powerful entrapment. With a single motion, he swiped an overhead arc from left toe practically all the way over to his right; as he leaped straight up into a back flip. Cutting what he could not beat, in terms of speed; Kendall had hoped to flip over the two pillars, but as they fell around him - he cut away a path for his slipping feet to point straight up into the small opening, as he rotated over the clashing stone to land atop the crumbling rubble that created a nice little peak for him. His incredible balance was evident, just as Solen's power in controlling the Force, as he stood there; only room enough for the balls of his toes. On higher ground, however unsteady, Kendall awaited action to counter.

Solen turned and ran along the wall away from his opponent, circling around another pillar, and launching himself towards the awaiting Jedi. He curled into a ball as he spun through the air. I only need to get close enough.

Watching as the Jedi disappeared behind another pillar to launch out at the preparing Kendall, he readied another feat of acrobatic avoidance. Twisting into his right, Kendall gripped a hold of two watermelon sized pieces of rubble at either side and with one upward motion - Kendall flipped back just as he pulled the two rocks into each other to collide into Solen's soaring face, as Kendall somersaulted in twisting rotation back and away to land safely upon the ground at the base of the rubble. He had drawn up the two objects of his artillery just as he had escaped up out of range.

Assuming Solen was hit as planned, Kendall would charge with intent to strike; leaving the nature of Solen's availability to determine Kendall's direction of attack. But for now, his feet pounded in Solen's direction; his saber ready to deflect or attack.

Solen saw the ruble and flipped himself forward. They passed right under his back, and Solen outstretched his limbs, pushing the energy which welled up during his leap. The repulse reached three meters wide, with a devastating affect on the rubble beneath him. The young Jedi dropped to the ground, and walked forward slowly.

"How is your martial prowess?" One thing Solen was wise to do was train and fully adapt his lightsaber form into hand to hand combat.

As Solen was not hit, and performed a magnificent blast of energy, Kendall had not charged; though the blast knocked him back regardless. Rolling to his feet, Kendall pushed up with a smirk. He was half Echani after all. It was in his very blood, boiling like the strength of generation's instinct. He had a good foundation in hand to hand, though he had focused on dueling. But then, dueling with a sword was but an extension of his own self...

Kendall shrugged his shoulders in response to Solen's question, "Eh... could be better." Strutting closer, Kendall swirled his lightsaber deactivated into its clip along his belt. He had enough distance to react, should Solen have tricked Kendall; but Kendall knew this man to be of his word.

Circling his opponent, Kendall mused; "Should we start with the fist?" Retorting Solen's words from before, with the substitution of 'fist' for 'lightsaber', Kendall hoped to expect unexpected attacks following this new chapter of their short bout.

Shifting forward with a simple left jab, Kendall curled up his open right hand in multiple response reactions; he would shift back immediately expecting to miss, his rising right arm would act as a blocking counter or a counter-weight to twist into action.

Solen blocked the attack as easily as Kendall had thrown it. When he decided to retort with a similar move, however, Kendall had been half a step ahead of him. When their arms made contact, Solen pushed Kendall back, and watched him spin to react. The young Jedi threw up his right arm and left leg, hoping to bar him off at the arm and neck.
