"Ladies and gentlemen, boy do we have some entertainment for you tonight! In the first round of the returning Grand Tournament, we have a Jedi Master and a...well, a something...face to face in an anything goes match - on a capital ship deep in space, no less! Whilst little is known of the creature known simply as 'Khavaal', I'm sure you ALL recognize Master Matchek, an esteemed and reputable Jedi Master and Council member. This will be interesting, indeed, so sit back, cheer on your fighter, and LET BLOOD BE SPILLED!"

The Tartarus had seen better days. Once a proud warship of the Galactic Republic, the vessel had been abandoned during the Great Territorial War and now drifted in deep space. Part of the vessel had been severely damaged in an encounter with the Mandalorians before the vessel was decomissioned, so the vessel was pretty much dead, save for a minimal life support system still functioning. After that, the vessel had temporarily been home to a pirate bse, though they were driven out shortly after. Now, empty for many years, one could never be totally sure of what resided or still did resides in the halls of the Tartarus. However, the location had been chosen for the battle, and that was that. And yet, it was silent. For there were two combatants on this vessel - somewhere - that were looking for each other, though all live feeds to the Grand Tournament's numerous holonet stations around the galaxy showed no trace of either of them. For perhaps one of the most exciting battles in this year's Grand Tournament, nothing was happening...

*Jonas had made his way into the ship far earlier than he was supposed to, bypassing the security lockdowns and making himself at home in the fairly intact ambassadorial quarters. He sensed that the bridge would be an interesting place to start, so he stepped off of the bed and began the journey there. Because the quarters were further from the bridge than he would have liked, he picked up the pace and ran as fast as he could. As he passed a broken worker droid that looked as if it had been hard at work on one of the ship’s systems, he could not help but notice how the ship appeared to be hand designed. Due to the effects of the Great Territorial War and the Great Rim Lines War, the Republic had been forced to go the cheaper route and punch out warships almost literally on an assembly line. However, it was evident that designers of ships such as the Tartarus took great care in ensuring that it looked aesthetically pleasing.

The colors of red and white were everywhere on the walls that were lined with large lights every three meters or so. The grey floor that he ran upon had a unique and abstract design, something he felt was probably from Naboo. Not a single part of the hallway was squared off, so it was almost as if the entire ship was one hallway with multiple branches.

As he stepped into the bridge, it was as if the ghosts of the past hit him. He could almost envision the bridge itself looking calm in battle, lights not blinking and alarms not chiming. However, the people within it would have been frantically running and performing their last minute, pre-battle duties. The large, computerized charts to his left and his right showed simulated battle plans for the Republic’s efforts during the past wars, ones that he could tell obviously had a great chance of succeeding. Putting aside the nostalgia, he sat down in the chair of the helmsman, awaiting the arrival of his opponent.*

"So, Master Jedi, we meet at last. I have been waiting for this for some time now..."

The voice that rang inside the Jedi Master's head, but had no physical counterpart, was deep, full of malicious intent. The beast had been freed, and now it sought blood. Re-armed with its weapons of old, a right-handed lanvarok, and a black-hilted Sith lightsaber the beast now held in its other hand making up all that the creature needed. Stepping out into the light, the beast had to lower its wings slightly to make it through the doorway, though the airey bridge was much more spacious than the bulkheads, meaning the creature was more than comfortable in the space. Snarling, the beast ignited its blood-red lightsaber, which hummed and crackled violently even in the contained environment of a starship.

"And now is the time where the vocal pleasantries that come hand in hand with a Jedi meeting a Sith are meant to begin, but such things are wastes of time. Prepare, Jedi."

*His green blade, the color of life itself, came to life before him. He would not make the first move, to be sure. He did not have to worry about changing his mind, as his opponent looked as if he was someone who would not hesistate to enter the fray.*

"I will bring your blood to Kalee and spread it along the Wall of Warriors."

"Fool, blood does not spill when you use a lightsaber! Allow me to demonstrate on YOU!"

With a roar matching the violent mental outburst that echoed in the Jedi Master's mind, the beast's right arm suddenly whipped up as his lanvarok fired, sending four razor sharp disc-like projectiles at the him. Without even a hsitation afterwards the great beast suddenly clasped the black hilt of his saber with both of his great clawed hands, his wings beating once to propel the creature forward at great speed. The beast corkscrewed in midair, his blade spiralling around like a terrible crimson whirlwind that crackled violently as the beast rocketed forward towards the Jedi Master.
