Krieg - The Fall

In the distance future, the year is 40,000 A.D and the Imperium of Man is once again beset on all sides by a myriad of foes. Super-Human warriors, the Space Marines, sweep across the battlefield their power armor bedecked in iconography and sigils, as their bolters reap a deadly toll upon the enemies of mankind, and before them march legions of Imperial Guard, dying in droves for the glory of the Empire. On the distant world of Krieg however, lies yet another threat, the foul Necrons who stir from the deep - hell bent on taking the world for their own.

Welcome one and all to a Warhammer 40,000 RP Campaign. Lead by myself with assistance of @Vosrik , this will see a series of threads - with me acting as overall GM - taking place, to determine the fate of Krieg! By joining, you will become part of the following groups:

The Imperium of Man

High Command
This will be made up of myself, as High Admiral, alongside the Space Marine Captain and the Imperial General. Orders will come down from the High Command, in the form of missions with each mission being lead by that units respective commander.
Imperial Guard - Hammer Squadron - @Chask274
This will be made up of Imperial Guardsmen who may remain as basic Krieg Guardsmen, or pick a specialty (such as Vox or Medic). You may not be from any other Regiment by Krieg. You will take orders from the Imperial General, who will lead you in threads.
Space Marines - Deathwatch - @Vosrik, @Shalken
Lead by the Space Marine Captain, these marines may take specializations, for example veteran Sarge or Assault Trooper.
By signing up, you must post a CS up pledging yourself to a squadron, this can then be expanded on as we get together all the sign-ups and get ready to go. The first mission will come once we have around three sign ups to each squadron, and then the High Command has met and decided on a course of action to take. For the sake of this RP my character will be basically an NPC as I shall be focusing on the overall campaign.

More information will be added regarding the resources at the disposal of the fleet/battlegroup, as well as the enemies we are facing, as and when it becomes apparent through RP.

Lord Admiral Valarian Tunexris

Terra, a cold and desolate world for those not born into the closeted shells of the upper classes. Into this land, the undercity that sprawls across the glorious homeworld of the Imperium, was a young man, Valarian - born of a family of simple adepts, who like billions of others toiled away in the cogitators of the Adeptus Admistratum. An unremarkable boy, he was told he would amount to little, fit only to serve the whims of his masters.

Sure that he was destined for greater things, the young man turned away from his family, turning to the Imperial Navy so as to begin to forge his path on the way to glory. A young rating now, he was soon assigned to the 'Fist of Segmentum' an Imperial Cruiser of the Dauntless Class, where he would serve for a long period of his life.

Imperial Action Report
Office of the Captain

Following the succesful completion of operation EW-112 which saw the nuetralisation of the seditious vessel 'Fortress of Entropy', Line Officer Vorax reported an exceptional talent in the form of rating Sigma 1132555. Following the felling of his commanding officer, crushed by a blessed ammunition casing, the rating took up the command mantle and lead the loading team to victory.

In light of this: He is hereby promoted to bridge staff.

The promotion, unexpected as it was, proved to be just the boost the man needed, and soon he was serving on the bridge of the vessel as a junior communications offcer, monitoring scanners and ultimately channeling the incoming comms to the bridge. Seeing thoough three years of combat in this position, the man never left the vast fortress atop the vessel that served as the bridge, and saw the Captain, only once.

Such was the magnitude of the Ship that he feared he would never get the chance to catch the eye of his Captain, and thus never serve the chance to prove himself in the eyes of the man who truly mattered. However, this turned out to not matter, for soon the commander of his communication regiment died, potentially of old age, in the middle of the night, and he was elevated to the position of 'Communications Princeps' a loft height that earned him a place around the command table of the ship, and on the main bridge - alongside the captain.

Soon moved to the position of Captains equiry, as the man was known to be fickle and desired someone younger to take the role, the young man served as the personal secretary and aide to the Captain, before inveitably being moved up to serve as his second in command, mere years after joining as a lowly rating.

Imperial Action Report
Office of the Captain

With the recent success of the ship and its crew in the campaign against Warboss Krathaka of the Ork Race, it is known that the second in command of this proud vessel has served with duty and dilegence in the line of Imperial Duty.

As I recieve the rank of Admiral, it is my desire that my second takes command of the ship he has so ably commanded.

I hereby name you Captain Valarian Tunexris, of the Imperial Navy.

Filled with pride, the newly appointed Captain found himself in the command throne of the ship upon which he had served for nearly a decade. His first course of action was to join the ongoing campaign against the invading Orcs, seeking revenge for the death of their Ork Warboss. Alongside a small group of Escort Ships he took to the fray, beginning a tradition of recording his kills with small models of the ships and planets claimed and defeated in his office.

Within five years the office - itself a vast cathderal like palace atop the ship - he had filled an entire room with such models, his record of victory astounding many. However, the height of Captain did not slate his thirst for recognition, nor his desire to serve the Imperium. Leading the vanguard in the battle of Colothis however proved to be the lynchpin however, in what would prove to place him on the path to the Admiralty.

Imperial Action Report
Office of the Lord Admiral

At the request of the Lord Admiral, Captain Tunexris is hereby promoted to the position of Admiral, having demonstrated an impeccable attention to his duties and an excellent record of service. He is to be assigned to Fleet Tenebris, and assigned to the 'Glory of Terra' Emperor Class Battleship.

The Admiralty was certainly a position that suited him, and soon his mind was allowed to focus on matters of strategy, not on the mundane facets of running a warship. Delagating the actual control of the ship itself to his Commodore, the Admiral retired to his Palace aboard the vessel of 3,000,000 souls, there to focus on the finer practice of Naval Tactics.

His focus was excellent, and his mind for tactics equally as capable, for he shattered three Ork Fleets, a Chaos Armarda, Tau and Elder fleets, with casualties low in each in engagement. For nearly a decade he served in such a role, commanding the Imperium Fleet with the fortitude that had been expected of him.

Of course, as was to often the case, noted talent was rewarded. Elevated swiftly to the position of Lord Admiral, he was moved to the Battlefleet HQ - a vast floating Fortress surrounded by the numerous fleets of his command. Now with the power of an entire sector under his command, the Lord Admiral focused his attention on driving out the Ork Threat in the North of the Sector, once - and for all.

It was as part of this campaign that he requested the support of the Deathwatch Chapter, to aid in finally driving off the enemy. Not known to leave the Fortress of his command, the Lord-Admiral grew somewhat detached from reality, relying on reports instead of his own first hand witness - his power making him aloof and somewhat detached from the plight of the worlds under his care - instead focusing on numbers and statistics.

Battlefleet Tunexris[/SIZE]

Dominating the Sector with the merciless power of the Imperium, the Battlefleet operates from a Ramillies Star Fort known as the apex of Imperial Authority in the area. War is rife, with the orcs pushing in from the north, and rumors of a potential Tau attack in coming, with the usual chaos threat always resurfacing. A simple chain of command exists, in which the battlefleet is lead by the Lord Admiral, with numerous battlegroups headed up my Admirals, and the individual ships commanded by Captains.

Noted Ships and Installations (Admiralty Only)

Bastion of Solitude - Ramillies Star Fortress - HQ - Lord Admiral Tunexris

Glory of Terra - Emperor Class Battleship - Flagship - Lord Admiral Tunexris
Hammer of Mars - Apocalypse Class Battleship - Flagship - Admiral Hux
Divine Flame - Retribution Class Battleship - Flagship - Admiral Falkreath

This intrigues me. It's going to be interesting seeing how you pull off Krieg being a Tomb World, especially with the nuclear war it just suffered through.

I've already got a Smurf Sergeant in the works. That is, if I'm not allowed to play a Dreadnought.

...please?

If Vosrik is OK with it then that would be fine.

As much as I would absolutely love to have a dreadnought on the team, they're unfortunately far too OP. The other squads would need something equivalent, so let's just stick with veterans.

Is there a specific template or CS we should use? Or just cover the general basics of our Character

I'm probably going to do a character sheet in my workshop. I don't think background would really be that big of a deal in this situation, as long as you lay out personality and equipment then you should be fine.

I'd be interested in putting forward a space marine either a veteran or an apothecary

An apothecary would be cool.

I'm considering actually making a Chaplain, minus the invulnerable save. Because who doesn't like praising the almighty Emprah?

The invul save is easy to explain away he could be wearing artificer armour tougher than regular armour

I like the characters so far.
Marines changed to the Deathwatch to allow for more range in the Characters.

My Character is also up, and in the OP.
