"Okay so... would you like to confirm that again for me, please?"

An awkward pause, a dead silence.

"I'm sorry Darth Evandrus. But I cannot give you the information you are requesting."

Evandrus closed his eyes for a moment as he took a deep breath. The annoying thing was that he knew that the healer was just doing his job. He knew that the healer didn't make the policy and that if he didn't follow it, he might face serious consequences. He knew all of this but it honestly didn't matter to him.

He was annoyed regardless and had to stop the healer from continuing with a raised hand. Dressed in business clothing customary for Serenno, he didn't cut quite the same figure as he did in his armour though his presence in the Force was beginning to slip out more considering his growing frustration with the person, the healer, in front of him.

"I am merely asking after the health of my unborn child." he stressed firmly, hands behind his back again now as he did not intend to try and bully the healer... yet, "I know that you are responsible for the health of the royal family. I am a member of the royal family. So please, once again, explain to me why I do not have access to information regarding my son or daughter?"

The healer swallowed thickly before answering again,

"I'm sorry... but I cannot provide you with any information. At this stage the health of the child is intrinsically linked to that of the Empress and I cannot discuss the health of the Empress with anyone but herself."

Evandrus raised an eyebrow,

"For security and safety purposes, yes?"

The healer looked relieved,

"Yes, exactly so."

He shouldn't have looked relieved.

"And you believe that I, her husband and father of her unborn child, am a threat to her security and safety?"

The healer paled considerably and Evandrus sighed, shaking his head,

"Go and fetch your supervisor. I shall wait." he declared, moving over to sit down at the side of the room, "I expect I shan't be waiting long?"

The healer hurried to fetch his supervisor and Evandrus allowed himself to breathe out... he was nervous. He wanted to know about their child, to see if they were alright, what sex they were - things like that. All he wanted was to double check because although he could see the life growing through the Force bond he shared with his wife...? It wasn't exactly 'full of information'.

So instead he would wait for now.

There were many things someone expected in an hospital, you could expect ill people, from men and women in very bad conditions to people simpyly having a cold. You could expect people in need pf surgery that would be their last chance to survive or someone that simply stub his pinkie toe and broke it. You didn't expect to see someone like Kano Taes, though.

"You will get the results soon Mr.Taes" A voice said from a room the Kaleesh abomination came out from, wearing a cloak that was slightly more decorated than his usual attire. It had been the first time he had a medical check since he was a normal Kaleesh, but it was about time, while Kano didn't feel bad or had a bad feeling about how he was handling his transformation, he felt curious about what did his current form mean from a medical, force-free, point of view. The fact that thanks to the Sith Empire and the reputation the Kaleesh abomination had made for himself within it, he could move across the streets and into public places without being bothered too much, the only thing he had to do in order to get the appointment was to choose the right doctor, one that didn't get weirded out or scared by the Kaleesh abomination.

Kano sat on one of the chairs in the reception room, noticing the High Judge, Cregan Drast himself, talking to one of the healers and looking very irritated, Kano got to listen part of the conversation after leaving that room he just came out of, enough to understand that Cregan was waiting for a child, a boy or a girl that would soon be an important part of his life. Kano let out a smile, looking at Darth Evandrus after finishing talking with the healer "Congratulations"

There were some gasps and pointing and Evandrus was only mildly surprised to see that most of the gasps and pointing were not actually negative but merely curious. It seemed that it was an old mission partner - Kano Taes. The last time he had seen the abomination Sith properly had been back with the spiders.

...

Even now he hated to think about those karking spiders.

He managed a smile for the Sith Master however and wandered on over to him, holding out a hand to grasp the other warrior's forearm in a warrior-like shake.

"Thank you Kano." he greeted the other man, smiling more naturally now, "I'm... I'll admit that I'm excited to find out if it's a girl or a boy. That's when the fun part comes up - names!"

He chuckled a little bit,

"What are you doing here? You're not injured I hope?"

Kano got up after seeing Darth Evandrus approach him, returning the greeting in kind , it was funny how Kano was a Warden of the Judgement and yet didn't talk with Cregan except when he was explaining the Kaleesh abomination's next mission, after all, the last time he saw him in person was at Nayeli and Malthazar's funeral, and even then he didn't talk to the High Judge because they had people to mourn and all that "It's good to see you again Cregan...or Lord Evandrus, whatever you prefer me to use to refer to you outside of work" Kano's said with a smile, letting Cregan's arm go. "I am glad for you and Andraste, that child is going to be in good hands" Kano smiled "But... it's strange how they didn't think of these circunstances when creating those policies, hopefully they will sort that out quickly" The Kaleesh abomination added, looking where the healer went

"I am not injured, no" The Kaleesh abomination said "Simply thought it was a good time to do a normal, ordinary medical check, haven't had one of those in decades...since I had this transformation" He explained, crossing his arms while looking at Cregan "While I feel fine at the moment with this body, with this transformation, if we exclude the non-stopping pain that comes with it, that's it, but I thought it was finally time to get some expert's point of view about it" He continued, letting out a smile, Kano was talking of endless pain like if it was nothing, and to be honest, he wasn't even worried about what it meant, if death had to knock on his door like that, well...he already lived more that he was initially going to, he was simply curious, curious about his actual state, even though he went through the transformation himself, he knew very little about it, what really changed besides the obvious, if there was any secondary effects besides the ones he already experienced, if it was only pain or it was something more "Besides, it's nice to do some ordinary things from time to time it makes me feel...more human, you know?"

Well that was true - they were outside of work. Considering they were outside of work, being a little bit less formal was probably a good idea but being too informal was still not going to be on the cards. He was the High Judge and they were in public so some measure of higher status was expected.

"Just Evandrus will do." he assured Kano, going with a simple title instead of anything else, "Thank you - I hope that I'll be a good father to them. I've been doing my best with Prince Elix and I hope that has 'trained me well' as it were."

He grinned a little bit before shrugging a little bit,

"I'm sure their supervisor will see sense."

He didn't mention what would happen should said supervisor not see sense.

Listening to the other Sith explain what he was doing here, Evandrus was struck, not for the first time, with just how lucky he was that he managed to retain his good looks despite the Dark Side use. Sure, he wasn't the biggest user of Darker techniques but he had heard tales of people using them and getting off worse than him. Kano was certainly the other extreme... and the man hadn't actually been the one who used the Dark Side energies that had turned him into the creature he was currently!

"I understand." he admitted with a nod, "I try and do things like that... normal things, you know? With Prince Elix I sit down and I watch the shows he's into. Watching Cartoons, you know? It's stupid, it's silly and it so much fun because I can understand and talk about his favourite things on his level, you know?"
