Power is such a fragile, malleable thing.

Only great men can truly harness it. But, it takes only the most enlightened of minds to truly learn something from it.

That the Dark Lord did. Seated upon his bloody throne, Vyrdesseus cast his gaze throughout the pyramid, the ancient scripture that lay etched in the stone before him, whispering to himself, chanting every holy word with only the highest reverence. Every day a leader fell. This, to him, was an inevitability. But his mind, trapped within the realms of malignant evil which are brought upon by those fleeting, intimate dances with the arcane, could not make perfect sense of it. The man was to him kin in only the basest sense of the word. For all of the Sith Vyrdesseus held some disdain, some untapped disgust, but in Vereshin he could harbor only a kind of cold, distant respect. But once he assumed the throne, Adethys was no longer. Only the regent, Vereshin. This, to a fundamentalist like L'hannas, could only be interpreted as a great affront to the sacred traditions of the Sith Order. It was a disrespectful shaming of all he'd worked for, all he'd stood for. Perhaps, though, it had come at the perfect time.

For in his times of meditation under the noonday Sun, when the great pyramid of Korriban would be swallowed whole, made a Stygian crypt for all of his destructive whims and desires, he began to think. He thought so much, studied so much, that the idea of his own mortality began to fade. The ideas of empire, of legacy, became irrelevant. No, he thought. No. These Sith, he thought, these Sith with their greedy minds focused only on the collection of subjects. They miss what is truly great about the Dark Side. They focus only on materialism, they've been driven far away from their path by the False Shepard, who only wishes to do them wrong. It wasn't until then that he noticed that he too was seated on his throne of metallic ore, stained with the blood of conquest. Transcended above his mortal coil, Vyrdesseus stood himself up from his throne and slowly descended the staircase. Titles were but words in the mouths of peasants. True Gods require no affirmation or praise. Only worship and sacrifice.

Apotheosis awaits.

A WORD FROM DAKOTA: So, most of you have noticed that I've been very, very inactive in recent weeks, and for that I deeply apologize. I've repeatedly tried to convince myself that I would be able to return to my full activity level, but with the workload being put on me through University and the eventual work schedule I'll have over the Summer, I've come to the conclusion that staying and hogging this position would be painfully unfair. It's for that reason that I'm stepping down as Dark Lord of the Sith. Darth Pravia (@Jack ) will take over in my place. Though I don't think I'll be quite active yet, Marf has agreed to let me step down to the rank of Sith Lord and remain in the Sith Leadership chat, so I can help come up with stories and strategies for the Sith moving forward. As for me, I have a storyline of my own planned for Vyrdesseus which I will be introducing as soon as I have time. If you would like to know about it and get in eventually, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the short version of it. In the meantime, I will be acting as something of an IC authority and source of wisdom for newer people. When I can I'll be holding classes on the Dark Side and more arcane things, as well as dispensing advice or insight if you request it of me.

It was a great opportunity guys. I'm sorry I couldn't live up to the potential, but hey, what can you do. Congratulations to Jack, I know you'll do a spectacular job. I'll still be here if you want to talk about stuff as well.
