Looking for a Republic Officer type person

I've got this idea for having my character try to smuggle some goods into a interdicted/blockaded planet, but I need a feeble-minded...errr, I mean willing Republic officer who can try to stop me.

Incidentally, I also need help deciding on what planet would be blockaded, and why.

Why would any republic soldier do that? We'd try to kick your ass.

Actually if you did that with Coruscant and the Alsakans it would work well.

We're in the orbit of Coruscant but we don't really occupy it. Also, we're sending food down to the planet so I can't really see why or how there would be a resistance.

Because you're blocakding them, not letting people come and go as you want and keeping them trapped on world. Tourists forced to remain there, families split; of course it's bloody unpopular.

No one has asked us if they want to leave the planet for some other purpose and if they did, we might have let them.

No. You blockaded the planet forcefully, there was a space battle. You didn't let anyone come or go other than the suppliers of food etc. You can't go back on that now.

Also, it's probably safe to say that there were Republic military types, or even just ex-military, on the planet when it got blockaded, and I doubt Alsakan rule would go over well with them...ok, so now I guess I'm looking for an Alsakan military type person.

Yes, there was a space battle but I'm sure if someone had asked, we would have helped out some tourists or a family. Just because we attacked doesn't mean that we're mean to the people.

So the blockade is only there to prevent people who don't ask nicely to get on and off world? Some of the things you say scare me.

Pretty much, unless they are obviously not nice and just pretending to be nice. Like people in the Republic military. Plus, the blockade is already useless in terms of starving people as we're feeding them since that would be the point of the blockade.

Perhaps... :CIsee: Or Republic records could be taken off of the planet and then we could use those records to find out about people.

Thanks very much for the offer, but the more I look at other threads, the more it looks like it would have to be a Republic controlled world being blockaded by the Alsakans--probably Coruscant--as the Alsakans don't appear to actually occupy jack.

Besides, the Alsakans look desperate, they'll probably pay more. Now I just need to find an Alsakan officer.

I wouldn't recommend Coruscant, the blockade has been attacked by a massive Republic fleet and there's a huge battle going on.
