NAME: Lyanna Vahlaar
FACTION: None - former Jedi
RANK: None - former knight
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 27 years
GENDER: Female
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes. Trained.
APPEARANCE:
With a hight of approximately 5'11 Lyanna is nowhere short nor even average for her species and gender. Her build is feminine however lacks the fragility many men celebrate in women. Her arms and legs are sculpted by a harsh traning schedule, yet still voluptuous curves forbid the impression of masculinity. Her skin has a noble but in no way unhealthy paleness with her lips, full and often carrying a luring sheer, and cheeks setting a fine contrast by being tinted in deep scarlet. Her features would have the cut of a classical beauty, but firstly is beauty subjective, and secondly is no beauty free of flaws. Lyannas right cheek is disfiguered by greyish scars, some of them grotesquly enough resembling scales. A admonition to never turn your back on anyone who doesn't share your blood. The injures come from her trying to save her little cousin while the Tython temple was on fire due to the attacks. Even though she didn't have much time to get used to her defacement, she carries the burns with an abstrusely pride as she gained them by trying to save the life of a loved one. She almost celebrates it as a reminder of the traitors that are to blame for it. Her eyes are of intense blue, a shade of pure sky neither tainted by grey nor any darker nuances. Black curls frame her face and cascade down her sholders.
She doesn't have a particular set of colours she prefers. She wants her clothing to express her heritage as well as being a reliable equipment in battle. The hilt of her saber is crafted of finest metals, adorned with characters of unkown origin. The colour of her saber is as green as the leaves of the plants she loves so much.
Attributes:
All offspring of Clan Vahlaar undergos strict training schedules from a very young age. Due to various and diverse talents within the family, each child is accompanied by a trained knight to further explore and improve their individual strengths an flaten out weakness. Further more every Vahlaar is instructed within the subjects of galactical politics, diplomacy, customs of the most important core worlds, etiquette and many more necessities for independence like flying a ship properly and survival skill. Over the years the development of the students is observed with a keen eye and the training adapts to them to ensure maximal efficiency.
Lyanna showed promise early on and never dissapointed her tutors. Highly ambitious even as a child Lyanna became a talented dualist as well as a silver-tongued appeaser (or agitator depending on her counterpart...)
Her combat style has the aggression of Ataru, yet lacks the acrobatic aspect and complete lack of defensive position. Her style is most likely a combination of from four and five but her very own interpration of each.
Even though she prefers fighting with one blade, she is a devastating power using two.
Of course using two lightsabers takes a toll on her due to the need to collect even more focus and strength, so her stamina is quite limited when she choses to ignite a second saber. She denies to use firearms during battle.
As due to her rather reserved character and strict attitudes she is viewed as arrogant by some. The nickname 'Snow Queen' of her teens doesn't seem to be that unfit. Radiating not much warmness makes it difficult for her to gain the trust of others, which sometimes can be obstructive during missions.
Even though Yaimher is a frozen planet, Lyanna still found a way of fostering plants within their stronghold. Nature giftes her with a comfort no living being as to offer. She has an unsual strong connection to plants and enjoys the silence yet pulsating life that surrounds them. There is only one poisonous shrub in her garden, the one whichs berries she uses to release Acolyths and children tainted by the dark side.
Personality:
"Let the fire cleanse them"
Being the oldest of six siblings, Lyanna soon learned how to handle responsibilty and the value of your own kin. Raised to set blood and duty first, she is a perfectionist through and through and wants to honour the name she was gifted with. Even though the Clan of the Vahlaar had always adapted itself to some amount to the changes the Order had been undergoing, they have settled with a rather radical mindset since quite some time. What is corrupted by the dark side is beyond saving and must be defeated and burned. Some members even insist the fire must claim the living body and conscious mind to insure redemption after death through the force. Lyanna herself moves somewhere in the grey inbetween. She agrees that nothing, that has the mark of the dark side can be redeemed, yet doesn't see a reason to let carriers of said marks suffer, as long as they're not spared. The Vahlaar tend to avoid words like 'killing' or 'slaying' but rather speaks of 'cleansing' 'releasing' or even 'redeeming'.
Lyanna is a warrior and there can be no greater goal for her than to match the expectations of her ancestors and to cleanse the galaxy from everything that stains it.
Under friends, which of those she has not too many but close ones, as well as in company with her siblings and many cousins Lyanna is a rather serious and observing person, however never unfriendly or dismissive. It's not an easy task to get her laughter, but if one succeeds, it interpenetrates one wholly. A smile she gives away more freely. She is strict with her siblings and watches over their training with a keen eye. She isn't one to tolerate lassitude. She still loves her family and especially her youngest sister more than anything else.
If her trust and loyalty is gained one has an ally to sail even the stormiest sea. However if one looses it, there is almost no chance of winning it back.
Biography:
Clan Vahlaar is a loyal ally and servant of the Jedi Order since hundreds of years and can be proud of many influential representatives of its name. Lyanna was born as the oldest of six siblings, all of them serving the Order, each in their own way, some as knigths, some as diplomats, some as healer. The Clan lives in a stronghold whichs ruins were discovered by Lyannas great-grandfather some one hundert years ago. They lay on a planet which is called Yaimher by the Clan, with the family partly originating from Mandalore. The word Yaimher derives from a not too widespread Mandalorian dialect (Yaim = home). Officially the planet is just a set of numbers and is home to noone but the clan. Over time the family helped the once pale ruins to new glory.
Lyanna got trained mostly on Yaimher, and didn't spend much time at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant before she was twelve years old. Her radical belief system let her be a polarizing one under the large groups of Padawan, granting her either strong affection or dissafirmation, yet nothing in between.
Having a short period of doubt of her path after befriending a rather liberal comrad, her family quickly managed to divide this friendship and made sure to strengthen her faith in the way of the clan again.
Being on a mission with her uncle Talon he gave her the order to release a Sith acolythe of whom they had got hold. She did as being told, yet felt the saber wasn't the right way to release children. After this episode she decided on using venom. Ever since then she tricks the children into eating the berry she serves them or, if they are older, let them chose between the sweet death of poison and sleep or the saber and the blow in the neck.
Radicalising their convictions over the cause of the last decades after an incident in which some darksiders murdered many family members and reduced their numbers drastically, the family tends to distance themselves from members of the Order with a more pacifistic mindset. Being close to former Lord Bau Zo he let them have their way, and some members are afraid to lose their opportunity to serve after their Lord had perished. As his body was never found, some think he's still alive, other even whisper of a conspiracy against the cause of the army of light.
Lyannas ambition to free the galaxy of all darkness alongside of her comrads-in-arms might clash with the new leader of the Jedi, due to the new direction he might sees fit for the Order and his policy of openly welcoming traitor back into their ranks.
