"Mr Au, I suggest you calm down," said Edward, a steely tone in his voice. He took a breath, and spoke clearly and calmly, "If you seem to think you have the right to invade an entire country because of the word of one extremist, what the hell are your advisors saying? What are your people saying? And it may not even be the word of one extremist, as far as we know that's just the official line. The official line during the invasion of Iraq was "Saddam does have WMDs". Turned out he had nothing, but they were still invaded nonetheless. It would seem some of us have learned nothing from our predecessors. The country standing for liberty and freedom, invades their neighbour because of a terrorist attack. Terrorist attacks do not start wars between country. Especially when there is no proof linking it. I am still in shock for what has happened.

"Mr Au, on what authority do you take away the right of Mexico to be a sovereign nation? The last time a country was split up thusly it only led to problems. I'm sure you all remember the state of Germany since the Second World War. That was clearly a mistake, thousands of people starving, segregated, especially those in Berlin. I will not see that happen again. And I am hardly in favour of setting up a dictatorship here, as it is one that has just been removed. I hardly see the problem in setting up a democratic government and allowing the people to vote for what party they want. Then if they want to vote for facists, or communists, or liberals, or conservatives or socialists or whatever other party, that's their perogative. I hardly think having a plebiscite on whether they want to establish a parlimentary democracy, or a republic, or a presidency will make an ounce of difference.

"Even if the government has sponsored the terrorists, that regime has been removed. Even if they were innocent, you can't re-establish the same people to their positions. Aside from a propaganda coup for all of those with disdain for you, the Mexicans, and families on your side that lost people, will be in outrage that there was no result of this. It is my view that the proper Mexican officials, those politicians who were not part of the last regime, be contacted and aid us in setting up a democracy, and all of its parties in order for the Mexican people to vote on what party they want as soon as possible.

"And when an innocent nation is invaded because of the words of a terrorist, regardless of the government's involvement, I don't need anybody to tell me who is in the wrong. If you cannot see that I suggest you get your eyes tested. Reparations must be paid to the Mexicans. You can't just steam in here, kill a load of their troops, remove their government then take the bits you want, and pull the ladder up and sod the rest. And anybody who thinks that is fair should not be running a country."

Diego Famosa seemed to ignore the chaos around him as he spoke via satellite. He seemed calm, removed from the situation.

'The moment Mexico re-establishes its own government, Cuba will be working closely with the nation in order to achieve prosperity. In hindsight, our assistance of the United States military was a poor decision founded on half-truths and media-spun caricatures of the situation. I believe the new rulers of Mexico and my nation will be able to come to an agreement of mutual prosperity and wealth. We will not support a continued presence of foreign troops in Mexico unless Mexico herself wishes it so.'

"Reparations are not the issue here, as it is clear that the responsible nations will pay for whatever we have destroyed. Allowing the nation to make its own decisions makes MUCH difference, North. As the American Delaration of Independence says, which you seem ready to quote so readily, every governmnet is in place by the consent of the governed. Who are you to stand in the way of them chosing their own government?

"What I don't seem to understand is your insistance that the invasion was not justified. The Mexican government's action was an act of war against the United States and it acted in kind. You are completely correct in your statement that it was the actions of a few...but these few happened to be in charge of the nation. There are many justified wars in which this was the spark and I'm sure you are capable of summoning up some.

"Much of what you say speaks sense though. The old regime should not be reinstated! But it should have representitives to explain its actions. And this is not an innocent nation. This is a nation that sponsored terrorist attacks which killed a million people! Not since World War II have we seen such wholesale slaughter. No, Mexico is not innocent."

Upon finishing his speech, Au gave his Cuban 'comrade' a poltically-constructed look of contempt. Upon the meeting's conclucsion, he would have a few things to say to this particular member of the Communist family.

"Diego, I really hope you achieve prosperity with Mexico. That situation spun all the way out of control, and I'm glad you're making the decision to help them out. Is there anything I could do to help you achieve this plan?" Consea said with a smile. That's what he wanted to happen; Mexico getting some good news from this discussion. They needed to rebuild and gain supplies so they could become whole again...

OOC: sorry about the wait.

President Gianni Giovanni was late. He had always been late, so late that most of his presidential meetings are scheduled 30 min later than they originally would have been. But he had never been this late, ecspecially to so important a meeting.

First, he had been stuck on Sicily, resolving an "economic" problem. Nothing huge, but unavoidable all the same. Afterwards, he had an even bigger problem with his wife, which he definitely couldn't avoid. Something about not enough time for her...or something like that. Then, his jet met some serious turbulence on the way to Mexico City, forcing his pilot to fly around the storm front, which delayed him by a few hours. All of these little obstacles added up, and here he was. Also, because of the turbulence, Giovanni had little to no sleep, giving him a "bum" appearance. But, rising in the elevator, he straightened his tie and smoothed out his suit. Just because he was disheveled, didn't mean he had to look it. He was a President of Italy, after all, and he needed to look like one.

Coming throught the double doors of the elevator, he immediately checked in with the receptionist as he brushed by, who frantically announced over the intercom connected to the meeting. "Italian President Giovanni coming in." Giovanni stopped at the frosted bullet-proof glass door and took a deep breath. Then he walked in, with the most humble and contrite look on his face that he could produce, and sat down in his designated seat.

The Chinese president glared at the other nations' leaders. They were all against him. Ever single one of them! He rose steadily and declared,

"The USSA is leaving. We will take every last soldier from Mexico. We will not pay reparations. We will not respond to other nations' cries for help. The USSA requests that the diplomats from the UK and Cuba leave immediately. They will not be welcome until further notice. US diplomats are no longer welcome in the capital. Good bye."

Au marched off in self-righteous furry to his chopper and rotored off the ground.

-----

Thousands of miles away, the people of the USSA did not know how to respond to Au's suddent outburst. This was not the Prime Minister they had come to know and love. Those in the "new" states especially did not know what to think. They did not appreciate their Prime Minister's actions and had no reason to actually like him to begin with. It was NOT a good first impression.

As Prime Minister Au left, Hunter stood.

"Prime Minister Au, I am sorry."

He then faced the other leaders.

"Gentlemen, I leave you now. The United States will decide what to do with American Mexico with the people."

He then left the building and went onto Air Force One, which would take him to Tijuana, the capital of the American Mexico territory.

"This has been interesting...to say the least." Came the emperors voice. "I at the very least, want no control in mexico, as was stated earlier. I sent Japanese aid to fight against a government held responcible for the attack of an allied nation, that has been acomplished and thus my enterest here has come to an end. All Japanese have been or will be pulled back and the lands may go to the UN for re-organization. This I think you will find acceptable?" he said to the remaining leaders.

So you've basically just ignored us and walked out so the discussion ends? America doesn't invade and keep countries for itself...and after the uproar against you having part of Mexico I doubt after you say "I'll decide what to do" and everyone would just be "Yeah, okay then"...it just undermines the entire conference...

EDIT: So Mexico would be screwed too...I mean if nobody is going to pay reparations and all you lot who invaded just walk out, without attempting to set up a government or anything they are really screwed.

As some of the world leaders left, Consea started to think about what would happen to Mexico. "Diego wants to help Mexico, and so do I..." Consea mumbled. He turned to Edward, and said, "So Edward, since it seems that Cuba is wanting to help Mexico, should you try to as well? I've asked Diego what I could do to help as well..."

OOC: What other option do we have really? The only countries left are Brazil, Cuba, UK, USSR, and I think a few others...

OOC: Good! How could I forget India. All right. If we can all contribute, we might save Mexico (Never thought I'd say that ever in my life)

OOC: I think the biggest problem is the fact the US has ignored the ENTIRE conference and said it's going to decide what to do about "American Mexico" and the countries that actually invaded (except Cuba) have all run off going "No, I'm not helping! I maded the mess but mummy has to clear it up!" Wawawawawawa!!!"

OOC: Well, at least it makes this rp more interesting. That was Wing's goal. It's up to the nations that have stayed to bring Mexico out of its darkness.....but if the U.S has a plan that they'll carry out without our word, whatever....

OOC: At the end of the day, after the way the conference went, the US can't keep the territory and just walk out...it's moronic...but yeah, we'll sort out what's left of it.
