Motherkarking Gentleman

Gentes was a strange planet - it was swampland all over and home to some rather strange creatures. He would have called it strange had it just been the Ugnaughts but he had heard rumours of a green beast that roamed their lands as well, claiming the swamps for himself.

Such strange local superstitions.

Evandrus was armoured in his personal Sith armour and he rather liked it, it had to be said. It might not be the friendliest of statements but he was here to prove that they should work for him and he could so that with his charming personality. If he pretended to be all light and sunshine, they would only complain later when it turned out to be a lie after all.

"Alright then Xornoth - these people are the best engineers in the Galaxy." he smirked a little bit at his ally, "Remember to treat them as such, alright?"

And not the little cute wobbly creatures they also were.

Arriving on the scene, they were guided forwards by a lone Ugnaught greeter, who bade them to follow them towards the people they were going to be meeting.

Even Evandrus, short as he was by most people's standards, was able to easily outpace the guide just by walking so he had to resort to shuffling.

Awkward... he hoped the meeting would go well however.

This businessman business was sure funny business Xornoth felt with all the traveling from one side of the galaxy to another. Evandrus had elected to take point this time which was fortunate as the Kaleesh had absolutely no idea why the Lord had chosen such a force-forsaken planet and people for their little project over a more established corporation in the Republic.

Perhaps these little monsters were a rare breed of genius that had escaped his notice or perhaps his friend was just playing a practical joke on him. Either way, Xornoth would play along and see where things went on this little negotiation of theirs.

"I'll be sure to keep my short temper at bay, can't be letting my feelings dwarf our need for their engineering prowess can we?" Xornoth returned the smirk back toward his friend before seeing their hosts approach in the distance.

The Kaleesh was several inches shorter than Cregan but around these folk, suddenly he didn't feel so short after all. Xornoth wandered what was in store for the pair today.

A single Ugnaught barked orders in their guttural, grunting tongue. He was not particularly tall for one of his kind, but Kara na Kara stood above them with the strength of his intellect and the viciousness of his notably bad temper. He was the First Engineer of Clan Kara and was somewhat of a political leader in the permanent absence of his brother, Arak na Kara, a task that displeased him to no end. So when he heard that offworlders, famous ones even, had landed upon his little ball of dust and rock to parley, he did not slow down in his labor whatsoever, directing the construction of yet another defense edifice, looking over screeds of data from recycled screens as salvage teams stripped parts with sheets of metal to repurpose them nigh instantly and on-site.

“I don’t care if some fancypants lords from off-world are on their way here now unless they have eight tons of spare metal in their fancypants pockets!” he growled in their tongue at an assistant as they relayed information from the landing pad. The work would continue even as the Lords in their elegant trousers came to treat with Kara na Kara in his grease-stained overalls.

Ah short jokes - they were funny when they were about other people. Honestly, Evandrus was average height but because he wasn't a giant people seemed to think it was alright to make jokes about him. He had beaten a few of them personally for making those kinds of jokes... but when they were aimed at others he would admit that they at least had some merit as jokes.

Or maybe Xornoth actually had a sense of humour?

Wonders never ceased after all.

"Just so Xornoth, just so." he agreed with his friend with a smirk and a wink before he hummed a little bit as he looked at the Ugnaught that seemed to be in charge, "Time to introduce ourselves."

Translators were a wonderful thing.

"Depends how quickly you need it by." he declared loudly to the leader, tilting his head to the side slightly as he approached, "The Sith Empire is known for two things after all - ruthlessness and efficiency."

He smiled.

"Would I be right in assuming that you are in a position to make a deal for your clan? Because I'm looking to make a deal today."

The short man apparently had a temper and was being dangerously disrespectful toward them, for some reason Evandrus was not with them but Cregan stood in his place. Taking his cue Xornoth watched the little man with interest as he was used to being the shorter one in the room before speaking himself.

"We are also powerful friends to have as you might have heard," he said with a slight smile.

Xornoth slowly removed a glove from his right hand before reaching out with the force to telekinetically grip a very large gun turret emplacement and slowly, lifting the entire thing from the rear of a nearby hauler into the air.

With precision, he moved the object toward its resting place and set it down for the workers to finish its installation. He then turned back toward the little man to gauge his reaction.

Kara na Kara looked upon his visitors -- one looked regal, almost wholesome by human standards. No wonder his face was plastered all over the ‘net on fan boards, womenfolk of all kind falling over themselves and swooning about his comely visage. But Kara knew better. He knew that Darth Evandrus, Prince of Lothal, High Judge and Lord of the Sith was no mere pretty boy to be trifled with. The other Sith Kara did not know, but his prowess in their mystical Force wasn't to be denied as he sped up the day's work by about two hours at Kara's estimate.

Kara na Kara rotated his head to one side and inclined his head to the Lord, the one he knew by reputation.

“If you seek to deal today, then the terms had better be favorable on all sides.” Kara narrowed his eyes in thought, even as he glanced to type away at a pad. Even when meeting with two powerful Sith, the work did not cease. It never did and it never would. “Requirements for every worker are simple and standard. Food, board and wages for the lot. But as you can see,” he said with a gesture of his stubby arm, “we're also in need of materials around here and the time to shore up our defenses. Last few seasons hain’t been kind to us and we need to reforge the clan’s home proper before we can devote our full attention to off-world endeavors.” He grumbled for a moment. “If the Empire could support us in the short-term, we could make a deal today that would give you the service of Clan Kara for as long as is required.”

Seemed that Xornoth was getting rather good at working with the people.

He liked that about his friend - he liked that that was something he had grown into. He seemed to have given the Ugnaught chief engineer something to think about and Evandrus appreciated that mightily. And, it seemed, that their point of contact here really wanted to make sure he got the best deal.

Not that the Sith Lord could blame him.

"The standards can be covered to a higher than average standard - Lothal is booming and your people would be highly skilled workers." he assured Kara because, honestly, they'd end up being downright middle to upper class if they weren't stupid with their money, "Interesting."

Pulling out a holo-projector, Evandrus brought up an image of two planets, both of which he had seized earlier. Both of which were known as resource rich planets.

"We have recently secured unlimited access to high quality metals and the means to produce them. Your people shall have the chance to purchase these materials, for the next ten years, at the best price possible - for merely the cost of manufacturing them." he assured the chief before adding, "That's long term however. Short term? We can have Sith fighters and bombers stations nearby to assist you and we shall begin moving materials over at once. Well... just as soon as the deal is secured at least."

The Empire made the best deals.

Xornoth reached into his clothing to reveal a small datapad which he motioned for Kara to take. Within the datapad contained the contract for services to be rendered and the nature of the work they would be undertaking, salary and other such details. "Gentes shall have all the material you desire and in exchange, Lothal will enjoy hosting your people in both comfort and style."

The Prince of Lothal was a very wealthy man and someone who enjoyed spending that wealth on those who wanted to work with him. The data would reflect this generosity, as the work they would be employed to do would place them at the pinnacle of their professional field. All Kara needed to do now was agree to join the venture and sign the contract.
