The Dark Jawa of Sith Empire

2e0rFZl.jpg

NAME: Kaehir Mustafa
FACTION: New Sith Imperium
RANK: Acolyte
SPECIES: Jawa
AGE: Nineteen
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 3'4"
WEIGHT: 68 lbs
EYES: Golden and yellow chartreuse color
CREDITS: 1,000 credits
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Other than that he's a Jawa handling a lightsaber? I don't think so. His hands are covered by dark gloves, which conceals the last visible physical trait of his species, and he tends to wear more civilized clothing than most Jawa (but definitely favors the same color palette) - would these count as distinguishing marks? Or perhaps the mystery of his unseen appearance itself is the most important and distinctive trait about his appearance?
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes

STRENGTH: [2/10] Although he has trained his physique to near it's top condition, the small stature characterizing his species has made it impossible to compete with physical strength of an average-sized humanoid.
DEXTERITY: [8/10] What he lacks in his physical strength, Kaehir compensates in speed and agility. His small stature and physical training allows him to move with speed and skill beyond the level of most of his equals, but it's not yet anywhere near 'perfection', though should he train this skill more, mastery over it would be inevitable.
CONSTITUTION: [4/10] Despite the strong immunity system of a Jawa, which allows him to endure poison and illness for longer periods of time and more effectively, his body is frail and prone to injury, when compared to the body of an average-sized humanoid - thus, his constitution isn't very high, as an individual could suspect.
INTELLIGENCE: [8/10] Kaehir has keen skills of observation and recognizes his own weaknesses, in addition to having some proficiency with technology, given his upbringing, but he has much to learn from the world.
WISDOM: [5/10] As an Acolyte, he possesses no experience, and due to his youth, can be found lacking in wisdom - however, his dedication to Sith philosophies and high self-control has proven him wiser than expected.
CHARISMA: [3/10] He possesses little to no ability to influence others. His personality isn't exactly welcoming, nor is he the social type, though some of his qualities appear as favorable in eyes of most people, and thus make him, even if only unconsciously, somewhat appealing to other people, whose interest his character seems to spark.

PERSONALITY:
One of the most important things in understanding Kaehir's character, is his undying devotion to the philosophies and beliefs of Sith. He's not just some sociopath, who picked up a lightsaber and began to follow a cause, because he enjoys killing and tormenting others - no, he's an idealist, driven by his values and beliefs, as well as his ambition. He sincerely believes, that change and conflict are to be accepted and sought for, and that one must embrace their negative emotions, instincts, passion and impulses, in order to become strong - he further philosophizes, that one must fully embrace their deepest desires, to unlock one's true potential and immeasurable strength. If someone would ask him what he desired, he would answer, that it was to live a life, that he saw as "virtuous", but this is only half of the truth. He originally longed for a meaning and a purpose, which he found in the Dark Side, but which in turn left him hellbent on fulfilling his ambitions and desires for power, perfection and recognition. This is what drives his actions and what influences his every thought - not malice, but a primal hunger for what he desires.

His idealistic character defines his entire existence, and there's not an inch of him, that wouldn't somehow find it's way back to his devotion to the Sith philosophies. Kaehir is intensely loyal, not to another person or the Sith order, but rather to his own development and his own interests - he is a good team player and doesn't mind serving under someone else, but in the end, his loyalty lies in his personal benefit and meeting his own ends. He is faithful to the organization and respectable towards those superior to him, but only for the opportunity, that it offers him; an opportunity to learn and grow in strength, an opportunity to advance his own interests, an opportunity to gain influence and power over others. And, although Kaehir would be likely to deny it, the opportunity to be around those, who share his mindset and philosophies. He's independent and self-reliant to the end, as a devout Sith can be expected to be, but not arrogant (while he can give off a feeling, that he sees people as objects, used to achieve his own goals, he never thinks that an equal or a superior is inferior to him) or incapable of working with others. Neither does he think highly of himself - he simply focuses on his own development and interests.

From his ambition and self-reliance, rises another virtue. The young Jawa is willing to work to achieve something and does not take things for granted, but rather as something he himself must achieve - thus, he never uses other people to achieve something, not because he doesn't want to share the achievement, but because he views it as a hypocritical violation to his own beliefs. "One must take what they can grab with their own power," would be a Sith teaching, that Kaehir lives by. If it means, that he will get one step closer to his goals and interests, he is willing to work for it. And he works hard and vigorously, rarely allowing his thoughts to sway from his development or a mission at hand (these occasions do happen, though never when he's on duty). Some would think, that his arsenal of Force abilities comes from an innate proficiency with it, though in reality, he didn't even know he was force-sensitive in the first place - it's all a product of his personal efforts and struggle. Following the same lines of thinking, Kaehir's mind is a fortress of iron and his will is as strong as a mountain - for one must be strong, and strive to become stronger, in order to survive. After all, in order to genuinely believe that only the strong deserve to live and that the weak deserve to perish, he must be confident in that he is strong, and that if his body is brittle, his mind will always be sharp and stronger than any opponent he faces. Indeed, his willpower is strong enough to overcome his physical weakness. And that means something to him - it means that he can call himself strong, despite his stature.

As a Sith, he does not despise Jedi, because he has been taught to - in fact, if he hates something, it's never what he has been taught to hate or what he is expected to hate, at least not for the sake of it. He hates Jedi, because they represent the opposite philosophy of what he believes in - peace and self-suppression, which he views as negative, because he thinks they will bring about the end of the world (which, he perceives as the stagnation of the universe, a state, where change no longer exists). He isn't afraid to think on his own and see the world in his own eyes, and while these thoughts might seem replicates of the ideology of Sith, there is a taste of uniqueness to them - they are his thoughts, his view of universe, not someone else's. His ideology has it's own twist, that differs from the mainstream, and which makes Kaehir an individual in a crowd - which, in the other hand, is a Sith value. In contrast to others holding the Sith philosophy in a high position, he isn't above changing his way of thinking if faced with good and well-reasoned arguments - or sympathizing with the opponent's philosophies and beliefs.

"One must be observant and willing to act at all times", says the First Creed of Sith, directed towards those, who want to embrace the path of a "virtuous" dark knight - and as one, who is familiar with his personality, can expect, Kaehir follows this tenet to it's deepest meaning. He is exceptionally perceptive and observant of his surrounding, almost to a point, where he compulsively needs to know what is happening around him - in addition, he has great skills in analyzing other people, determining how they are feeling and predicting what they would do, though he gives the last one very little credit, ignoring it as lucky guessing. He displays a particular alertness, general distrust toward other people and certain cautiousness in his actions, but only rarely lets an opportunity pass, and more importantly, doesn't reveal his weaknesses to others, since they could use them against him. Kaehir believes, that aside from being observant of his surrounding, one must be observant of himself, in order to fully utilize his abilities and make use of opportunities. He fully acknowledges his own flaws, and eliminates them to his best ability.

This leads us to the next, vast portion of his character. The young Acolyte has the self-control of someone multiple decades older - he isn't affected by temptations of power, knows when not to use an opportunity would be hazardous to himself and has full mastery over his own emotions. He believes, that self-control is the most important quality of a Sith, in contrast to the official philosophy, that emotions are supposed not to be restricted - however, he does not suppress his emotions, instincts, impulses or desires, but simply remains in control of them. However, he is perfectly capable of pushing his emotions aside (but never suppressing them), if it proves to be more beneficial - you can find him fighting with aggression as often as you can find him fighting with a seemingly emotionless mask. He can be quite serious and quiet (for most of the time, to be honest), but it would be foolish to think, that it would indicate apathy. Kaehir simply rarely reveals his emotions or thoughts, unless he is harnessing them in order to use his abilities, but he remains as emotional, passionate and vivacious as anyone, despite the surface impression.

He remains somewhat socially withdrawn, though not because he finds it difficult to socialize with others. In fact, he keeps to himself, because he takes individuality too seriously (he takes most of his values too seriously), but is not incapable of being friendly or nice to others - though he mostly acts cautiously around others. In fact, at his best, Kaehir enjoys company of others, if he can trust them and can view them as respectable - he especially would appreciate someone, who shares his beliefs, or someone who has strong opinions and follows their own beliefs strongly. At worst, he treats those around him as enemies, ruthlessly and with a taste of hostility. He is perfectly aware of the world of betrayal he has chosen to live in, and views relationships as both dangerous and beneficial, depending on the nature of relationship. For instance, love would be an abhorrent idea to the Jawa, while an alliance would be more than a welcomed addition to his life. It's worth of noting, that his adventure has just began, and even though he thinks, that he will stay like this forever, the journey is going to change him more than he could imagine.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born to the harsh deserts of Tatooine, in 1,104 ABY, to a small, but tight-knit tribe of Jawa, Kaehir was among the children born after the Sith had already returned to power. Their tribe was comprised of less than hundred clansmen and clanswomen, a shaman and a clan-chief, and his parents had nothing special to them in eyes of others - his father was a scavenger, a mechanic and a merchant on the Sandcrawler, like most men of their tribe, while his mother was left to take care of their home and children. What Kaehir would call his home was a small "house" in the clan's fortress, an intimidating construct made of spacecraft wrecks, where he lived along with four sibling. The men on the Sandcrawler traveled the face of planet, scavenging, salvaging and trading the scrap they could find - but unlike most Jawa, he never got to experience that part of the life of his kind, due to it being limited for those, who go through the adulthood ritual. His life would be centered around the fortress, under the protective eyes of his tribe. As soon as he was a five years old (read; old enough to work), he was taught the basics of droid engineering and metalworking, as the clan expected it's youths to contribute to the common good, even if it meant simple assisting of others.

When Kaehir grew a few years older, he had a basic understanding of engineering and technology, or at least to the degree, that he must have been capable of fixing something. Days passed by the fortress, yet every day seemed to be the same as the other - the Sandcrawler left the fortress, and came back for shelter during the violent sand-storms of the planet, and then left again. Aside from fixing junk and metal scrap, and eating hubba gourd, which tasted more bland after each day, until it became unbearable to eat without tears falling down one's cheeks, there was nothing to do. Life was uneventful, and Kaehir grew to despise that - he grew to despise his parents, who insisted that there wasn't life outside the deserts of Tatooine, and his siblings, who seemed to enjoy their uneventful life too much. But the young Jawa knew, that there was life outside the desert. Occasionally, there was merchants visiting the fortress in order to find out if there was something purchasable in their massive stockpiles, and they brought stories with them. And Kaehir never got tired of listening them. These rare moments, when an outsider set foot in the fortress, became the youngster's most precious memories, when he later left his home to approach the world of these stories.

He was particularly interested in the happenings of the worlds beyond the desert, and the outsiders, most of them being affiliated with the Hutt Cartel, always knew what was happening. Before his birth, the Sith propaganda had been in full bloom and the image of Jedi soiled by the former, but when Kaehir's interactions with the outsiders began, the news from the world were mostly about the war between the Sith and the Alliance, the inevitable Fall of Coruscant and the post-Fall period of Sith Expansions. He couldn't help, but sympathize with the Sith, their beliefs and their cause. Honestly, it was extremely uncommon for a Jawa to have any political interest or opinion (not that Kaehir really was your common Jawa), and there was no one he could talk to about these things in his tribe - and if someone had an opinion, it was rarely positive on the part of Empire, which had not been very kind to the planet in the past. It's arguable whenever these opinions were his own, or the making of an easily influenced, youthful mind exposed to successful Sith propaganda, but nonetheless his eyes shined in awe, when the Sith came to their backyard.

Kaehir couldn't have ever imagined, and neither anyone close to him, that he had some sort of Force-sensitivity, or that his life had any real meaning or purpose, on or out of the desert, other than to continue what his kind had done for thousands and thousands of years. However, he somehow knew, that the day, when the Sith ship landed on their backyard, would change his life. The Sandcrawler was on a scavenging trip on a fresh space-wreck site, and it was supposed to come back after a few days, leaving the fortress without more than a bunch of men to protect it. From the ship in the fortress' background, came out two men wearing black robes - one with a gentle face, and one with scarred, brutal facial features - and imperial troopers followed them, when they came to the entrance of fortress. Everyone seemed a little tenser, but no one expressed direct concern - Jawa had no knowledge over politics, and none of them, besides Kaehir, would recognize the intimidating men as Sith crusaders. They had came to look for something, that might be found there, and were willing to pay for it - at this point, the scarred man seemed to grunt in displeasure, while the gentle-faced man handled the diplomacy. A ship had fallen to the territory, the man said.

The young Jawa couldn't conceal his excitement, and sooner than he could realize, he had blurted out a question, if the ship could have been the same ship, that the Sandcrawler were investigating, much to the horror of everyone else. The gentle-faced man turned his eyes on him, and his eyes lingered on him for what seemed to be an eternity, until he ended his careful, benevolent glare in a bright smile and thanked the youngster. The Sith suggested, that they would stay on their ship for a few days and wait for the Sandcrawler to return to the tribal fortress, after which they could trade either what they were looking for or the coordinates of the shipwreck, and leave. The shaman, which acted as the leader of tribe when the clan-chief was absent, meaning that she had practically all control over the fortress, when the head of tribe was away, offered the men to join them in their nightly feast. The gentle-faced Sith crusader would politely accept this invitation, and join the tribe with his own men during midnight, to enjoy roasted hubba gourd. Kaehir could feel his eyes on him during the feast, until he and his crew returned to their own ship.

The Sandcrawler came, and the Sith found what they were looking for. Instead of gutting the entire clan, they exchanged their object of interest to a new model of droid, and the clan-chief couldn't simply resist the temptation to accept the terms - for them, it was a good trade, but then again, Jawa were not particularly greedy nor bright enough to demand something of more value; Kaehir could bet, that the clan-chief had no idea what he had given away. Just when it looked like, that the Sith were about to leave, much to the youngster's dismay, the gentle-faced spoke that he had something else he wanted to trade. With one, subtle nod at the youth's direction, the crusader would reveal, to everyone but the confused boy, that he was interested in taking Kaehir with him - and that he would use violence, if the need would arise. None of the tribe said anything for a while, and the youngster began to slowly understand the meaning of man's stretched out hand - a fire inside him began to burn. He was giving him a way out. With this gentle-faced man (whose face was now equally commanding) he would be able to leave this place and the desert behind, and taste things different from hubba gourd - and more importantly, live a life, that was not dictated by tradition or fear of travelling outside of their territory. For a long time, he hadn't found a name for the feeling, that seemed to be always spark in burning flames inside his chest, after an outsider's visit would come to an end. It was longing for a meaning, a purpose, he knew from that moment on.

That day, he took the crusader's hand, and they walked away without looking back or giving any second thoughts to leaving his home. Kaehir was intoxicated - his only wish had been granted by this gentle-faced stranger.
