New Holstice - Jedi Sanctuary
For centuries, Jedi have visited the santuary planet of New Holstice for healing, meditation, and for remembrance. The makers of the ruins and the memorial that stands - an homage to the fallen Jedi over the millennia - have long since left the planet and now the Jedi serve as caretakers. The memories of Jedi are preserved in what are called memory moths, native insects that react to the Force and serve to keep a short echo of a single Force-sensitive individual. The planet serves no purpose other than this memorial, and a small respite from the brutal nature of the galaxy and deep space.

"A memorial that the people of New Holstice created eons ago, to honor all the Jedi killed since the birth of the Republic." -Unknown Jedi

Name: New Holstice
(Canon, although Legends sourced)

Coordinates
: This is in R7, likely smack dab in the middle away from most systems and lanes

Hyperlane
: None - Perlemian nearby

Climate
: The climate is hospitable but with its dense forest throughout most of the planet, rains and other natural phenomenon are common. Dark-sanded dust storms can occur in the crags during dry spells.

Terrain
: Almost completely forested, some crag areas, and forested/tundra at the polar caps. There are ruins left from long ago, the creators long since killed off or vacated. A single memorial to fallen Jedi still stands to this day, a token of Republic days gone by.

Rotation
: "Standard" day/night cycle and yearly orbit

latest
Inhabitants
: The dominant species are plants, although an ancient humanoid culture once existed here millennia ago. That said, there are considerable insects and small creatures that would roam any forested planets. The "memory moths" are said to be native to New Holstice.

Resources
: None of import, aside from standard granite and wood.

Government and Culture
: There are no living beings residing on this planet. A small Jedi enclave (a simple medical bay and memorial) still stands amongst some ruins, buried deep within the forest.

Technology
: Other than the Jedi Sanctuary, the planet has no known technology.

Satellites
: None

History
: See above. This has existed for at least several thousand years BBY, and would at least last up until the Jedi Purge.

Intent
: Explained above. But in essence, this becomes another place for the Jedi to call refuge in times of need. It is near BA/Sith contested sectors, so it may get consumed in the conflict at large. But the hope would be that the planet would not be harmed or even found. Even then, the memory moths and monument could in theory be moved to another planet.

This could be used as a place for Padawan training or Jedi ceremonies. I have some plans, depending on approval and other events, to use this planet for missions and other RPs.

By the write-up I am assuming the Jedi Sanctuary is not a military installation and there shouldn't be any issues

Nosir. I would imagine a small landing platform outside a medical facility with rooms to stay and meditate, followed by the memorial out back. The only protection would be that it is mainly uncharted? Kind of like Kamino, in that they had to dig to find it? I don't want to make it impossible to find and be all meta about it, I just think it should be a backwater "shack" in the woods that very few know about. Even most of the Jedi may not even know?

But yes, even given the above, it could just be a "claimed" planet if someone really wanted to. In the EU there was a battle on NH, but I am going off the plan that this is an uninhabited planet without much reason to make it one.

It may be largely uncharted, but not impossible to find.

Approved.
