Those Rebel uniforms look ****ing great, really chuffed with them, the natural looking environments they're occupying as well.

Other stuff going on here as well, perhaps even potential spoilers, who knows, but in this instance, I annoyingly couldn't resist a look. There are other set photos floating around too, I might give up on them after this though, I'd rather not ruin the film for myself.

Again there seems to be that tweaking/streamlining of the existing aesthetic to make things seem like they've developed and advanced. The white pad on the old rebel piloting suits wasn't that large, and it looks like like its made of a plastic, given how it rests.

As to the uniforms, they're certainly common enough that they probably are, but they have a different vibe to me. Maybe its the brown colour, but they seem reminiscent of World War I uniforms, which maybe means something for the tone of the scene (whatever that is?).

To me the rebel clothing looks much like the clothing rebels wore in Ireland during instances such as the 1916 Easter Rising, which was a pretty damn formative and gritty period of time, so that choice of aesthetic is really great.

Irish Rebel aesthetics can do no wrong for the future of this franchise.

And most of all, none of what we've seen looks like the PT, which so far is fan****ingtastic.

The difference there makes some sense then, given we're on opposite sides of the Irish Sea. Nevertheless, rough fabric, period of unrest and turmoil, etc.

Though one of the outfits also reminds me of Lando's rebel clothes, white shirt beneath beige waistcoat and such.

...Or I think its a waistcoat...

I should make it clear that those people are not necessarily Driver and Christie, they just look similar to them, and people are thinking it might be them.

Nonetheless, those are real set photos.

I've seen the theories, people have too much time on their hands it seems, trying to spin various stories.

I only posted these photos here because in other threads we've been discussing the Star Wars aesthetic a lot, and these photos follow it pretty perfectly.

I've also seen video of them shooting some scenes at this location, and given the movements of the extras - marching and the like - it appears this is some sort of Rebel outpost within which they might conduct training regiments or discipline of soldiers, perhaps even an academy.

At the very least, I would imagine its somewhere 'safe' for the group, whatever it is. After all, you've got some guys just hanging out, relaxed and all.

Yeah. Most of the insider information about Adam Driver so far suggests he's playing a villain, so that's a big reason why I clarified it, since it'd be odd to see a villain in a Rebel flight suit. Then again, if that information is true and this actually is Adam Driver, a villain in a Rebel flight suit could - depending on the story - could be a cool and subversive spin on classic iconography.

Could be someone who grows disillusioned, could be a spy, etc.

I hope everything in the movie follows this same aesthetic path, the looks feel natural and grounded, I hope they have that for the villains as well, for everything really.
