Given that the Nintendo Switch launched today, here is a thread to discuss expectations and first impressions of the console.

Here is some basic information about the switch if for some reason you've been living under a rock for the past year.

Probably just gonna be another niche console from Nintendo who's "neat factor" wears off in a month, and then no one will care about it.

Outside of Zelda their launch titles were really bad. But omg we got Skyrim coming eventually!!!! Only about 6 years after anyone would care.


Nintendo should just dip outta the console game tbh. Port their games to PS and make 14 quadrillion dollars and just focus on handheld.

While I myself have never been a Nintendo fanboy, the Gamecube was definitely my favorite console when I was a kid. I have some pretty fond memories of that system, thought ironically the games I played weren't made by Nintendo, they were the Lego franchise games and the Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup. I then moved on to the PS2, then PS3 and a Xbox 360, now I currently have a PS4. I may pick this up in the future solely for the portability (and maybe a little bit because of Breath of the Wild).

You do realize it's also coming out on the WII U, which would save you a hundred bucks. Not saying it's a better console, just that it's cheaper.

Well, I'm getting it anyways since I don't own a Wii U to begin with. That and I'm sure there'll be games other than Zelda I'll like.
