Nloghi'apiar'dutthu

(Application had been submitted on the forums for the military position still waiting on a response)

Race: He is a Chiss

Races of his birth parents: Chiss

Gender: Male (Chiss)

Planit of birth: Csilla

Appearance: He looks like a standard Chiss Jet black hair and fiery red eyes. He is six foot seven but he seems taller. His eyes always seem to follow you no matter where you are as long as you’re in his field of view he sees you. He has shallow check bones and a pointed chin. His brow is perfectly curved. His jet black hair is combed perfectly. His legs are very thin. His arms are thin as well. Despite his weak appearance there is something about him that puts people off. His hands are well cleaned and never have a speck of dirt on them. He wears all black clothing at all times. He wears black boots and they are so shiny you can see your reflection in them. On his lower left hip there is a long scare that was caused by a sith’s lightsaber. He carries his blaster with him at all times and dues not let any touch it. When he is upset his left check will twitch slightly but noticeably. On Formal occasions he wears black gloves. On the top right of his shirt he has a small circle with a dot in the middle of it no one knows what it stands for.

Bio: He was not born to a wealthy family but he did make the most of what he had. His parents were not the greatest parents they could be as his mother was never there… And his father had been killed by a rouge Sith while on a tour of duty for the Csilla military. This left Nloghi'apiar'dutthu alone almost all his childhood. He when to school and it was clear everything was too easy for him so he simply stopped paying any attention. As time went on and he learned more and more of the outside world and the Sith he began to hate the Sith. He did not hate the Sith for starting the war that had not touched him yet. He hated them because they were Barbaric in his mind. The thing he found the most barbaric was how they killed EACH OTHER off and thus weakened the hole. As he grow up he hated them more and more. One day as he was making back to him home he saw four thugs attacking a poor old man he was about to interfere when in a flurry of movements someone jumped from a roof, landed and in a flow of green cut the maces and pipes the thugs where using. He had heard of the Jedi but he had thought they were simply republic pawns. Seeing this a new respect blossomed within him for the Jedi. From this point on he researched the Republic and the Jedi. As the years went by his respect for the Jedi and the Republic only grow stronger. Sadly at age 19 he was drafted into Csilla’s army. He still attempted to make the best of the scenario he was presented with. During his military training he excelled at hand to hand combat and short range blaster fights, but it turned out that his greatest ability was strategy. His instructors also noticed that he had some major flaws. His medium and long range fighting skills where horrible to the point that he had almost killed a fellow trainee with a stray shot. His trainers decided to transfer him to the Csilla fleet. From there he shot up the ranks making second lieutenant within 2 months. Every scenario he was presented with he completed with minimum casualties. He was also greatly respected by his men. He would fight by their sides instead of staying up in the sky. All of the scenarios he had been presented with were local gang related though. One day it was reported that a rouge Sith was leading a local gang. This was the mission that had caused him to retire from the navy. Unbeknownst to all the people in that planning room Nloghi'apiar'dutthu had flown into a rage just from knowing he was about to face a Sith. This greatly hindered his planning to the point of failure. When he and 25 soldiers went down into the base of the rouges Sith’s gang everything went wrong he had failed the timing so the gang was ready form them when they had come. His solders where captured and brought before the Sith. He laughed as he cut them down one by one and finally he arrived before Nloghi'apiar'dutthu. Instead of killing him however he only cut a scare on the lower left side of his hip. When a rescue team found him he was put on trial for treachery as he had never failed in this way before so the people thought he had been working for the Sith. The trial was over in a day and he was found not guilty. He had represented himself during that quick trial… even though the people had forgiven him he had not forgiven himself, this failure still haunts him to this day. He left the Csilla fleet and deiced to join the Grand Army of the republic. He now hopes to wipe the Sith form the galaxy and redeem himself.

Personality: He can be very gruff at times. He can’t stand the Sith and becomes very passive aggressive if they would come up in a conversation. He is not anti-social but he is not over social was well. He is very OCD about his appearance. He deeply respects the Jedi and if he has the chance will talk to them above all other people. He hates corruption and anyone who partakes in it. He is slightly paranoid and will not trust anyone unless they have earned his respect. He is willing to make privet shady deals as long as the end goal will benefits the republic as a hole. He also sees life as a massive game of chess. He has server self-confides issues when it comes to dealing with Sith.

Motivation: His sole goal is the make the galaxy a better place for those who live in it by any means neccicary as long as it won’t come at a large sentient being cost.

Skills: his greatest skill is his great intellect and strategizing albites. His Close range fighting abilities are very good and better then the average bounty hunter or assassin. His long range abilities are unbelievably bad as well as his medium range agility’s. He is a very good hand to hand fighter. He can use a blade but not as well as someone who was trained on how to use a blade. When he finally talks to people he Is a very skilled speaker and can inspire soldiers very easily. His Achilles heel is the Sith.

Hello Nlog-thingy. ;)

Interesting character. I have always been fond of Chiss.

Three things:
1) According to the bio, your character didn't complete any formal education.
" He [went] to school and it was clear everything was too easy for him so he simply stopped going. "
You don't mention him being trained in politics or having any education in the rest of the bio? This doesn't fit in well with him being in politics.
Imagine an MP (england) or a US Senator who didn't even finish school. ;)

2) Your character seems a little more suited to joining the army. Combat skills, aggression, tactical skills... hatred of the Sith could even be his primary motivation for signing up.
I am sure the Grand Army of the Republic would be glad to have you. :)

3) Csilla is in the Unknown Regions.
Senators can only represent Republic worlds.

Great ideas overall though, I like his personality and physical description.
I am not being too critical I hope? Don't want to offend you.

Personally, I would recommend thinking of a reason he would join the Grand Army, then asking for him to be a commanding officer in the army.
It could suit him, IMO.

Great. :)
Remove the Border alliance tag, though. Just leave the prefix off.
It's the Grand Army now.

"The Grand Army of the Republic (otherwise known as the GAR) is a collective fighting force deriving resources and assets from member worlds committed to countering the Sith threat.
It was preceded by the Border Alliance, which represented worlds primarily from the Republic's northern most territory that fell under the direct threat of Sith conquest."

"After nearly a year of border skirmishes and threat-level escalations, the Republic Senate, under the administration of a young and pragmatic Supreme Chancellor, voted near-unanimously to formally recognize the Border Alliance as the makings of a Grand Army of the Republic. "

Are Chiss allowed in the Republic Army?
Technically speaking, there would be no reason why they couldn't enlist. The tricky part is really justifying why they're serving a foreign army if they're from Chiss space. Obviously Thrawn managed it so it's not impossible.

He is six foot seven but he seems taller.
You're going to need to explain that to me. I'm guessing you want to imply he has a (literally) large presence?

there is something about him that puts people off.
Which is...?

He when to school and it was clear everything was too easy for him so he simply stopped paying any attention.
Uhh, that would probably work against him in a classroom environment. You can't prove you're great at something and show how easy it is for you if you don't first listen to what the actual lesson is. This just seems like a throw away line to make him seem 'really, really smart' but just comes across as jarring.

He left the Csilla fleet and deiced to join the Grand Army of the republic.
The fact that he got twenty-five of his men killed (nearly a whole company) failing to take down a lone Sith and a literal gang of thugs would be something that would hang over him for pretty much the entirety of his career in either military. Major screw up's have a way of getting out, especially when the Republic would probably look into why a Chiss who served in their armed forces is jumping ship to a foreign military.

The fact it was his first and only command really speaks against him being described as having a great intellect for strategy. Granted, he'd be serving in GAR as a lowly Trooper which puts him away from a proper command role so I suppose it's not really relevant to this, but still.

His long range abilities are unbelievably bad as well as his medium range agility’s.
He also would not make the cut for Special Forces with having such an explicitly poor aim. We don't want characters who are Mary/Gary Sue's of course, but being at least competent in an important military skill would be necessary. GAR PC's are not regular grunts, if only to keep up with Jedi/Sith.

Apologies if I come across as too harsh but I am going to be blunt here. Your character reads like a string of contradictions that were poorly thought out/explained to make him not quite seem 'as' perfect as he would if just described on attributes alone. Everything was easily learnt in school, but he didn't pay attention. He is amazing at strategy and tactics, but he got every single one of his men killed. I think I see what you're trying to do, 'balance out' his stronger talents with something negative (which is generally a good idea), but the pendulum swings too far from one side to the other.

Clean up the backstory a bit, add some more 'subtly' and detail to some of his more prominent strengths and weaknesses, then run it through a spellchecker. Poke me when you've done an update and hey-ho-away-we-go.

Is there a short version of his name.
Like something people could shout in battle without needing to bellow for three and half months?
