“Look, Shaw, you ain’t gon’ convince me that this grown man can’t get past some tall grass,” Prani said hotly. Prani Shalrazi was known to be laidback, shy, mellow, and kind. But for some reason playing a video game brought out all kinds of frustrations from her. As promised, she decided to give gaming a try since Shaw at least made a valiant effort with animals for her.
The past week felt like a dream. Prani still couldn’t believe that she and Shaw had such a perfect date. She couldn’t believe they were official. Prani found herself smiling and humming a lot, staring at nothing, and putting a bit more effort into her appearance. She also noticed that the bullying went down significantly since word began to get around. At most, she got glances or whispers, but no one openly teased her. Was it all because she was dating Shaw?
Her class on droid programming got out early and she knew she would have to stress over that homework for hours. It was her weakest subject by far. Since she had some time, she asked Shaw if he was up for playing some video games. Shooters were an instant no from her so he tried something else.
And it only went downhill from there.
“LOOK! This man has a SWORD in his INVENTORY!” Prani said as she pointed at the Holoscreen. They were both seated on a cheap futon, “Why can’t he just hack them grass outta the way? Makes no sense I gotta fight some monster to get through this path when I see the castle just on the other side o’these bushes. This is some nonsense!” Prani huffed, pouting at the screen. Her character was repeatedly running into the boundary of a path in an RPG, “How does this fella kill them big spiders but can’t take on plants?”
