Well, in the meantime, once the summer hiatus ends (because oh god why does a series with this many gaps already need ANOTHER one), we'll be finally getting all the ranger teams fighting together at once.

With only ten allowed to cameo with helmets off because haha why would Saban would spend that much getting people to New Zealand.

I liked the original series and two or three that followed, back when I was a kid, but that's it really.

I like everything through Power Rangers in Space, since that was all one story. The Zordon story. After that, I stopped caring.

Mighty Morphin and In Space are where it's at. Zeo was also pretty cool. But to prepare I'm watchin Mighty Morphin on Netflix while havin' a few bevs at the same time. I think this show might be even better now that I'm older and kinda drunk.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of them saying "**** continuity" and making each season its own contained thing. It was nice seeing some of the cast give up their powers to the new comers mid-episode and occasionally coming in for an episode or two, outside of the now-annual team up thing that they do.

Whilst I only grew to know the original series by going back and watching it after the fact, given it first aired before I was born. Earliest power rangers memory is a random scene involving Justin and the Blue Centurion, but it was only later on, around Lightspeed Rescue, that I really became hooked.

...though I realise this is just gonna add to the excuses for Saban to play on nostalgia yet again. Because not as if it'd be nice to have something other than a Go Go Power Rangers variant as the theme.

Edit: I realise now many of the references I made up to this point may have gone over people's heads.

Further edit:

There hasn't actually been a proper one of those team ups for a while really, sad enough. The closest they came recently was this weird crossover made for TV movie thing they did, but only the previous Red appeared, and it borrowed from three different parts of the source sentai series. Just a mess of early Saban 2.0

The last one was really... depending on definition, Once A Ranger, back with Operation Overdrive, but that was a general crossover of the Disney season up to that point (plus Adam as MMPR black) for the fifteenth anniversary. Before that, the last wherein the whole cast of the previous series met the current cast, was in SPD two years before. So like... 2006 or something.

That's a shame, those were always my favorite parts about newer seasons. I liked them and all, just not as much as the earlier series that had continuity. So it was always nice seeing a little bit of it thrown in there. Mostly for fan service, probably, but still fun in the end. When did the all Red Ranger team up happen? Cause that was the bomb-diggity...I mean, it was ****ing awesome.

Forever Red, tenth anniversary, part of the Wild Force series. Sad as it is bandai strong armed them into the ending with the motorcycle, so they had the money to actually finance the whole affair, it was still cool to see ten reds morph together and kick ass in all original footage. Plot holes or not, that is how you do an anniversary.

Agreed. Also, were the Psycho Rangers from In Space? If not, whatever. Still the best Power Rangers villains since the Green Ranger.

They were, but honestly, they really hit their best in the Lost Galaxy crossover. Which was just a good crossover in general, really set the bar for what the others would have to do.

Oh okay, that's what I was thinking of. Was the Lost Galaxy crossover the first crossover? Because that was how you do a crossover. Best one not including Forever Red!

Between full seasons, yes. Prior to it, you had the Alien Ranger team fighting alongside the Zeo rangers, and In Space had one ranger returns in the form of Adam and Justin.

However, whilst To The Tenth Power was an awesome crossover, and set the bar pretty well, Reinforcements From The Future is often regarded as one of the best of the lot for a reason.

I forgot about the Alien Rangers in Zeo. I dug that, I remember when I first watched that it blew my ****in' mind. But yeah, when I was talking about team ups I meant full Ranger teams. Before when I was talking about continuity, I mentioned digging when Rangers passed on their powers mid-season and then one of them coming back for an episode for a quick team up. I still actually remember the team up with Adam. Can't recall what season it was in, but weren't they worried that since the Mastodon(?) Morpher was ****ed that he might die if he used it? And then he kicked some ass.

Which one was Reinforcements from the Future? My memory of older Power Rangers is pretty good, but the newer stuff...not so much.

It was In Space, specifically the episode Always A Chance. It was the original Mastodon morpher, from when Rito destroyed the Thunder Zords, which was why Alpha was worried - it'd be like turning on a high power appliance with frayed wiring. Sure, it could work, but it could also blow up in your face. Of course, Adam is awesome for a reason (and that episode is probably why he was especially brought back for Once A Ranger with Operation Overdriver).

It was the crossover of Wild Force and Time Force. Basically, a new set of 'orgs' (the bad guys for that season) appear, but are way stronger than the norm, and after they trounce both the Wild Force rangers and the remainder of the Time Force crew (Eric and Wes, the only natives of the 21st century in the team), it transpires that they might be more than they seem. Highly regarded among fans for being A) A massive improvement over the crossovers of the last two years B) Having a tonne of original fight footage and C) Actually having character development for members of both teams, a couple of villains, and otherwise just advancing both stories.

Yeah man, Adam was the shit. But I forgot that was from In Space actually, which is probably my favorite series. And I love MMPR for nostalgia reasons so that was awesome to see for sure.

Okay, that's why I don't remember it. I didn't watch either of those series. Are they on Netflix? Cause I'm watchin Mighty Morphin' now and just might get bev'd up and watch as much of these shows as possible. Cause I like taking a break from the super serious, gritty, dark shows and movies and enjoy the Power Rangers and how much they ham and cheese it up.

The entire franchise, save for Super Megaforce, is up on Netflix. May have to poke around a bit though, given the state of the search engine.
