INTENT
Another ship originally meant for the Independent Assault Unit designed to be a smaller frigate size but with no less stopping power for slugging it out in combat with other craft. meant to for filling the role of what the Snapper corvette can't and provide more direct fire power as well as troop transportation for a small invasion force or a formidable but not dominating capital craft for more direct combat instead a measured field. Now it is just meant to be for indie factions in general since most seem to be mobility/fleet based at this point. this will also expand the relations of DDI's reputation and in turn house skirata. meant to attract more buyer towards DDI and supply a point for story building business with various characters and organizations since many indie factions are fleet/mobility based these days. designed by @Darasuum.DESCRIPTION
the Cleaver as its name implies is more direct combat oriented than the Snapper which is its smaller predecessor. the Cleaver is meant for the more aggressive open conflict that requires a stronger show of force. numerous turbo lasers and cannons bristle on its surface. while it is slower than its predecessor it is known for being faster than other frigates. originally designed to be a heavy corvette the Cleaver is in fact more in line with that of a light frigate.
while the vessel is faster than other frigates it is also smaller and in turn carries less cargo, passengers as well as firepower. still plentiful in capability in dishing out damage it can impose a high risk for smaller craft. this is only amplified as it can chase after such craft. while it can be outpaced this is usually long enough in its armament's line of fire and range that it can utterly destroy a squadron of fighters. if that wasn't enough to make a threat it is capable of hosting a squadron of starfighters. while the hangar space can be home to other landing craft for troop transportation, bombers, shuttle craft and even filled with a larger amount of cargo the hangar is primarily for starfighters or interceptors.
on either wing of the Cleaver is a turbo laser cannon fixed forward meant for bombarding any opponent directly. the sloping of the ship's side allow almost all weapons to fire on a forward facing target while providing a fairly small target themselves. in addition to the heavy shields and decent armor the shots that may land on it will be endured for it to "Cleave" through the enemy. whether this is for breaking through enemy formations, escaping blockades or shear berserker tactics it makes the Cleaver a fearsome ship to oppose. there are four twin turbo laser batteries running along the spine of the ship as well. on the port and starboard hull of the ship are swift twin laser cannons, three on either side. these can also bombard any capital craft but are primarily meant for taking out hosts of smaller craft and damaging smaller vessels or even precision strikes on land based targets. towards the aft of the Cleaver there is a quad laser turret meant from dissuading any chasing vessels or harassing starfighters.
