Houses & Clans of the

Mandalorian Dominion

Mandalorians typically belong to a Clan, each of which belongs under a larger House. These Houses and Clans are the predominant political structures within Mandalorian society. There are 5 Houses, each of which dates back further than recorded history, and within each house sits multiple clans, all vying for power and prominence within the House. During the time of the old Mandalorian nations, these Houses and clans were known to mold the shape of Mandalorian society, and even the Galaxy, with their power struggles. When Mandalore and its collective worlds were brought into the fold of the Republic the clans and houses were suppressed. The power struggles and jockeying that had become characteristic of the Mandalorian people was discouraged by the Republic government, and ultimately became little more than tales of the past.

With the liberation of Mandalore and its sister worlds from the Republic, and the rise of the Mandalorian Dominion, Houses and Clans have once again taken a prominent role in Mandalorian Society. Reminiscent of the days of old, the Houses once more are amassing their resources and power, each determined to be more powerful than the others.

House Kryze
House Kryze is the oldest and longest lived of the Mandalorian Houses. The member clans and descendants of House Kryze are so widespread and so prolific that members of House Kryze often do not know other Kryzes. House Kryze is also one of the wealthiest Mandalorian houses. They are deeply entrenched in 'old money', and members of House Kryze often grew up in, or inherited, wealth. House Kryze places distinct value in honor, integrity, and the resol'nare. House Kryze has raised some of the greatest warriors Mandalore has ever seen, but the sons and daughters of Kryze are seldom greedy or ambitious. Instead, when a Kryze takes power it is often out of perceived necessity, or has been thrust upon them. Notable members of House Kryze include: Mand'alor Prudii Kyramud - the Reclaimer, Mand'alor Talia Al'saif, and Senator Viesa Kryze. Kryze Clans include:

Clan Kryze

Clan Kyramud

Clan Teneau

House Vizsla
A stark contrast to the age and stability of House Kryze, House Vizsla is the symbol of pride and ambition. House Vizsla is a much younger clan, as most of the older generation was lost in a recent civil war. House Vizsla tends to break away from the strict tradition and values that are instilled in classical Mandalorian Culture, and instead Vizsla seeks to blaze its own path and set forth its own values based on what will advance its own goals. House Vizsla is also the most aggressive of the Mandalorian Houses, with Vizsla throwing all of its support behind the resurgent Death Watch in hopes that it would bring glory back to the Mandalorian people. Now, under the young nation of the Dominion, House Vizsla has found itself in pivotal locations within the Dominion Government and Army.

Clan Vizsla

Clan Priest

Clan Beroya

House Fett

House Fett is, by far, the youngest of the Mandalorian clans. At one point Fett was a rival to House Kryze, having stood beside Kryze across the ages as one of the ancient Mandalorian Houses. Kryze and Fett had warred amongst each other over the ages, and were constantly fluctuating between allies and enemies. When the resurgent Sith Brotherhood began its raids upon the northern border of the Republic House Fett and House Kryze agreed to fend off the attackers together. Competitive and conniving till the end, Kryze failed to show up with its forces to the early attacks, leaving Fett to fend off the Sith assault alone. The overwhelming raids and attacks left House Fett crippled, and caused them to collapse, nearly losing House status all together. Only two Fett Clans remained after the fall, and members of House Fett were left with a bitter taste in their mouth for Kryze.

Clan Fett

Clan Tsuni

House Ordo
House Ordo is the most academic and intellectual of the Mandalorian Houses. More than any other House, those born of House Ordo find themselves to be natural tinkerers and planners, which leads them to find their place as engineers, strategists, and doctors. Ordos tend to be pragmatists, placing value on family and culture, but finding more value in logic and succes. Alongside those of House Vizsla, many of the chief officers of Death Watch were of Clan Ordo - as Death Watch's pragmatic and blunt approach to Mandalorian freedom resounded within them. More than any other of the Mandalorian Houses, House Ordo holds a grudge against Jedi, and practitioners of the Force. It is said that in the past House Ordo was significantly larger than it has been in recent history. Responsible for initial contact with the Jedi, the engineers within Ordo designed weaponry and technology for combatting the Force. Ordo would continue to have sustained wars against the Jedi and the Sith, while other Houses fought within Mandalorian ranks. This warring whittled away at Ordo's numbers, and left them with a bitter attitude towards the Force.
Clan Ordo

Clan Saxon

Clan Merrik

House Skirata

House Skirata is the least aggressive, and least ambitious of the Mandalorian Clans. The Mand'alor responsible for bringing Mandalore into the fold of the Republic hailed from House Skirata. Additionally, Skirata put its entire support behind unification with the Republic, and alliance with the Jedi, earning them the ire and distaste of their fellow houses. Skirata has fallen from grace within the Dominion, and has also suffered a loss in their numbers, owing to the fact that a large portion of their warriors stayed within the Republic after Mandalore gained its independance. Prior to the unification with the Republic, House Skirata had been the House to suffer the brunt of infighting form the other Mandalorian clans, and the predominantly agricultural House found its camps raided and its fields plundered. Currently Skirata finds itself housed on Concord Dawn, as tensions on Mandalore became increasingly hostile after the Dominion came into power.

Clan Skirata

Clan Kelborn

Clan Renelo

Mandalorian Dominion Worlds
The crusade of the Mandalorians across the Galaxy has seen them become a major power within the galaxy. The planets which fall under the Dominion's fearsome domain can be found in the map for Star Wars: Dawn of the Republic. Within Dominion space exists a number of worlds of great importance to the Mandalorians. These worlds can be found below.

Mandalore
808fd458234f655aed25783163801d69.jpg

The beautiful homeworld of the Mandalorians is both one of their most deeply revered worlds, and the bastion of their military strength. Nestled within Mandalore's mountains, and sprawling across Mandalore's fields are countless military centers, key to training, housing, and deploying Mandalorian forces. Mandalore herself was only recently returned to the fold of the Mandalorian Dominion, and away from the control of the decrepit Republic. Mandalore itself is a resilient world, with its strength not reliant on economic and political structures. Though the world does feature several large cities it has been proven before that even should these cities fall the people of Mandalore can and will hold out against an occupying force.

Mandalore also hosts Ha'rangir's Fortress, from which Death Watch was once run.
The fortress on Mandalore is an ancient facility, rebuilt and expanded many time into what it is now. Nestled into the massive Northern mountain ranges, the Fortress is naturally protected from ground assault by the steep surrounding cascades and volcano clusters. Protecting it from assault by air is a series of ground-to-air quad laser batteries on the outer walls, as well as a pair of turbolaser towers. If these fail, the outer walls themselves are constructed of thick stone reinforced with durasteel- built to withstand the bombings common to House warfare. While a narrow pass leads to a ground level gate, it is difficult to reach by foot or vehicle, and the main entry point is by the wide landing pad in the main courtyard, which is capable of accommodating a number of shuttles and freighters. Two hidden launch rack facilities nearby allows for the launch of interceptors to provide first line defense against intruders.

Within the Fortress itself, two separate barracks- recently refurbished- house the bases resident warriors, who typically number a few hundred at any given time, though can house upward of this in case of large war parties. From this garrison guard shifts are drawn, led by several senior warriors and a Watch commander. These shifts man the guns and walls, the ground gate, the main courtyard, and at strategic points in the interior, including the armories and the dungeons (when occupied). Senior supervisors rove, while the Watch commander maintains control from a centrally located control room with video monitoring capabilities over most of the fortress. Even without the guard shifts, the lair is generally bustling with activity- agents and raiding parties coming and going, recruits conducting training, senior staff going about their business. It would certainly be difficult to go unnoticed, and in an organization with such an entrenched sense of brotherhood where most warriors know one another, good luck blending.

The Fortress is Death Watch's main staging point, and hosts their senior leaders. It is from Ha'rangir's Fortress that most plans are developed, implemented, and monitored, but Death Watch is not so dependant as to rely on the Fortress. Were it to be conquered or destroyed, the Mandalorians are resilient enough to adapt, and continue operations from another of their locations. The facility also has a number of sensor-relays, allowing foresight as to incoming invaders, attackers, or other general visitors. The facility's walls are hardened, so scanning, hacking, or EMPing the contents of the fortress is near impossible. Additionally, a dome-shaped shield can be erected over the facility in extreme cases, to ward off attacks.

If the Fortress were to come under attack, inhabitants could run to lower levels, deeper within the mountain, where walls become even thicker and further from the ground to resist bombings. These bunker areas have enough air to last for at least a few days, until help arrives, or a new way is found out.

Tatooine
2664e3be8232d3678d7efffa90fefb2b.jpg

Tatooine has always historically been a hive of scum and villany. During the early days of the Mandalorian crusade Tatooine fell into the hands of Death Watch, and later the Dominion, through their alliance with the Sith. Rather than disrupt the status quo of the planet, and attract attention, the Mandalorians left the desert planet relatively alone. Instead they used it for a secret staging area, and prison. Though it is known that the Mandalorians own Tatooine, it is widely believed that they have no cares as to the state of affairs on the planet.

The only Mandalorian facility of note on the planet is The Sandbox. It is one of the closest guarded secrets of Dominion. Buried in the sands of Tatooine, the facility has very little above ground to indicate it even exists. Several sensor arrays, designed to look like solar panels, and moisture evaporators, as well as a few structures are all that give the facility an outward appearance. Instead, the majority of the facility is underground. A series of tunnels create a network of a base underground. The walls are built with reinforced durasteel to neutralize any attempts to scan the inside of the tunnels, or hack into their systems. The facility also features an underground hangar, entered via a concealed hangar door built below the layer of sand. When opening the sand falls into a trap system, to be redeposited when the doors close back. The hangar can hold a corvette and several smaller ships, or a lot of smaller ships if no corvette is present.

From the ground the facility can produce several air to ground quad lasers / anti personnel laser cannons to ward off attackers. The hangar doors are of blast door thickness and can take a bit of a bombardment before being breached. Additionally the doors are thick and difficult to cut through with a lightsaber. The turbolift to enter the facility, which is hidden within one of the structures, remains at the bottom of the shaft until summoned to the top. When an emergency mode is activated the lift immediately deactivates. The lift tube is filled with sand, as is the hall directly outside of it. Additionally the air intake vents are shut off, and flooded with sand and all doors to the hangar automatically lock, and require an override code to open - one which only the personnel in charge of the facility would know. The facility has enough air reserves built up to last for at least a week when emergency mode is activated. When emergency mode is deactivated the sand is suctioned away and returned to the desert.

Within the facility are a number of black-site prison cells. These cells are constructed of phrik, as to be impervious to lightsabers, and are completely air tight. Should the prisoner attempt to escape, air can be vented from the cell, or the cell can be flooded with a flammable gas. All communications to and from the cells are completely cut off, as the walls are thickened to block signals.

The facility is constantly staffed by trained guards, and the occupants are always few enough that they know each other. Senior supervisors rove, while the Watch commander maintains control from a centrally located control room with video monitoring capabilities over most of the base. When Emergency Mode is activated a distress signal is sent from a high-power hypercomm deep in the facility directly to the acting Mand'alor, and to Ha'rangir's Fortress. The beacon would be an immediate call for help. Even without the guard shifts, the lair is generally bustling with activity - agents coming and going through the base. It would certainly be difficult to go unnoticed, and in an organization with such an entrenched sense of brotherhood where most warriors know one another, good luck blending.

The facility was constructed shortly after taking Tatooine during the battle with the Sith & the Accord. The facility is meant to give the Dominion a black site, staging area, and safehouse deep in the Outer Rim.

Geonosis
databank_geonosis_01_169_1d04e086.jpeg

Another of the Dominion's holdings in the Outer Rim is Geonosis. The planet houses some of the most profitable assets to the Dominion, a series of factories capable of manufacturing a range of items. It is staffed by the Geonosis population, and guarded by Mandalorian Supercommandos. The walls of the factory are thickened in order to resist attack to a degree, and the facility can erect a shield around itself to resist attack for a short period of time. The catacombs beneath the facility offer a network of tunnels to escape through, each one miles long. An updated map of the catacombs has been uploaded onto the HUD of all personnel on site at the factories.

Additionally, turbolaser positions, as well as surface to air and antipersonnel quad laser turrets protect the facility from attack. A small hangar exists within the factory, which can hold up to a wing of starfighters. Geonosians are allied with the Dominion, and as such fight alongside the Mandalorians should an attack occur. The small number of Mandalorians on site means that each Supercommando knows each other, making infiltration that much harder. A hypercomm station within the facility can transmit a distress beacon to the Mand'alor, and Ha'rangir's Fortress should an attack occur, alerting Dominion Command as to the Situation. Additionally, as the facility is not a secret, there is a constant all clear signal sent from the Factory back to Mandalore, as the facility is so far from home. If the signal stops, reinforcements will be sent to aide.

As the Geonosis facility is so important to the Dominion as a whole, several ships are always on station in the atmosphere, ready to intercept any attackers or would-be invaders.

Concord Dawn
68a375fa15568828e57d0435ee363087.jpg
Concord Dawn and its inhabitants have always had an interesting place within Mandalorian history. The planet is often thought of as a 'second' Mandalore, and offers a very similar climate and feel to Mandalore itself. In the past, those who couldn't fit in on Mandalore propper, either due to infighting or exile, have wound up on Concord Dawn. As such it has made the small mining world's population a hard working, tough group. Many of the clans still find their homes and structures on Concord Dawn, owing to years of infighting which temporarily drove clans away from Mandalore herself.

Concord Dawn is so important to the Mandalorians that when Death Watch marched upon Mandalore in order to free her from the Republic, a contingent was sent to free Concord Dawn. Upon the world the Dominion houses one of its many garrisons, which serves to allow quick deployment of troops. The garrison is located within Concord Dawn's capital city, and is one of the Dominion's larger garrisons. The garrison is outfitted with a dome shield generator, capable of withstanding assault from fighters or bombers for a short period of time. It houses a small docking bay which is capable of handling a moderate number of fighters or freighters, or a single Corvette.

Defending the Garrison are a number of turbolaser batteries, as well as anti-personnel cannons. Within the Garrison is housed a company of troops, as well as a small prison unit capable of detaining force users and lightsaber wielders due to the use of phrik materials and neural dampeners. The Garrison's second purpose, besides allowing for quick deployment of Forces, is to keep the population of Concord Dawn under control. Mandalorians are often unstable and violent with their infighting, and the Garrison ensures that the Dominion's will, and control, stays in place.

[glow="#171615"]Clan Beroya occupy the northern tundra and Boreal forests of Mandalore in forts along the side of mountains and cliff faces that are common in the northern region. Due to the climate farming isn’t exactly easy with only a short growing season of 130 days. so they rely on the food generated by hunting and foraging as well as hardy crops that can survive the cold. So meat, berries, nuts and mushrooms make up a large part of their diet, with a few very hardy vegetables as well such carrots and leeks. As such they are known for creating meats stews, roasted meats, jerky and trail mix. what they don’t generate themselves they will trade for with clan priest which its northern islands just border the coastline of their lower territories.

Once the food has returned back to the forts in which the clan resides. Most of the food is preserved by either freezing, salting or drying it. What food can’t be stored like this is swiftly eaten before it goes rotten as food can be hard to come by in the winter months, so wastage is out of the question.

[glow="#171615"]Clan Beroya isn’t particularly religious but do have a deep respect for their dead with them laying their dead in crypts carved out of the ice of the ice caps encasing them in a sarcophagus of ice to preserve their bodies for future generations while they use the funeral passage when burying their dead usually said at the end of the funeral. Many these crypts are as old as the clan with hundreds if not thousands of clan members in them and even one holds the body of the founder Tanx Beroya.

The clan has a deep bond with nature. To them, hunting isn't a sport. It is a way to be intimate with nature, to see the rhythms and hierarchies of nature. This goes with their mantra of “Strength is life, for the strong have the right to rule” as survival of the fittest is important in nature and Mandalorian culture. It’s not uncommon to find someone from the clan having an animal companion of some kind. Most common are birds of prey and mammals such wolves and other canine-like animals. Such so they’ve taken the wolf on to their clan symbol.[/glow][glow="#171615"][/glow][glow="#171615"][/glow][glow="#171615"][/glow]

[glow="#171615"]Beroya upbringings are somewhat different to other Mandalorians. With them being less regimented than other clans, giving them free time to explore the areas around their clans' forts and hone their skills in the wild. this freedom given to them often leads them to wander the galaxy as young adults to later settle down with rest of the clan. Their training provides them with skills to not just survive but to thrive in the harshest of environments. this alongside their hunting and tracking prowess makes for the training for a formidable a bounty hunter and in the military Beroyas can often be found as scouts or as rangers infiltrating behind enemy lines and raiding enemy supply lines.

The clan as has a preference for guerrilla warfare when engaging against any group hostile to them, clan or otherwise. Perfecting hit and fade tactics as well as raiding tactics to inflict maximum casualties and disrupt enemy movements. They do this avoid as many casualties as possible on their own side as the clan is relatively small and couldn’t sustain a conventional war for long. So they use their knowledge to their advantage.

As noted earlier the clan employs and encourages many of their clan to have animal companions as such they have developed many techniques to tame the animals of Mandalore and the galaxy. The most talented of these are called “beastmasters” in the clan as they have a natural bond with animals they choose and training. To be a beastmaster is a mark of great respect in the clan and are the ones teach the newer generations on how to handle and tame the creatures of the galaxy. Beastmaster can be found in military, training animals to guard the many dominion facilities alongside their Mandalorian brethren.

The easiest way to spot a member of clan Beroya is by the fur that is often adorned on their armour. This simply because fur is a common fabric in the clan as a byproduct of the large amount hunting they do. As well you will often find they wear teal on their armour somewhere as this is Clans colour which represents the mixture of blue ice of glaciers and the green conifers that inhabit their territory.

[glow="#171615"]While Clan Beroya is under no House, it’s closest friends and allies has always been House Vizsla. So much it is thought that Tanx was originally a member of Clan Vizsla before making his own clan. They regular train and trade with them as well as exchange their knowledge with them as they do the same with them.

Clan Beroya has very little interaction officially with House Fett but they don’t hold any grievances with them so if they were to ask for help, it wouldn't be denied but as many of their clan wander they may have built relations as individuals with the House.

Beroya doesn't really care for House Kryze and neither do they with generally only interacting with them purchase furs or to hire their services for hunting or other talents and of course, this does account for individuals.

House Ordo and Clan beroya have a Mutual relationship with the House. coming to them often to order and buy gear that can survive the weather and abuse the clan gives their equipment. So much so that they built up enough of a reputation to warrant Ordo having saying about them “If a Beroya can’t break, no one can.“

Once again Clan Beroya has very little interaction officially with House Skirata even more so than Fett, with clan leadership just outright ignoring them as they are to believe to be without honour so may as well be dead to the clan.
