hey there peeps it's your friendly sitehood @Darasuum here. so i posted awhile in General OOC about gaming. i accidentally did it with one of my sub-accounts but its been awhile and we've received some new members so maybe they'll see this sort of thing.

basically i'm always looking for new people to play games with. i'd like to discuss up and coming games, join in with people and all that good stuff.

things to know:
  • I primarily enjoy playing FPS, shooters and action games.
  • I don't ONLY play ^those^ types of games though.
  • own two headsets and prefer playing with voice comms with others.
  • as the title states it's PS4 oriented but i also own a PS3 though i don't play it very much.
  • Casual gamer and switch between games often.
  • PSN username is Darasuum1
  • if you're from the site let me know in a message (either on this site or through PSN) who you are so i don't mistake you for a total creeper.
  • Usually create and represent a clan/guild/corporation/faction/whatever named Orange House in the video game community along with a tight nit group of other gamers.
  • i'm a skilled-scrub. (don't expect my awesome scores to trick you into thinking i'm a pro-level gamer and sometimes i just suck but i'm not totally useless...usually)
list of games i currently play as of february 2017 (though if you actually look at my trophies i play a lot more)
Shadows of Mordor, the Order 1886, Titanfall 2, Overwatch, Bioshock (replaying the whole series), Borderlands: handsome collection, Warframe, Destiny.

I heard the Order 1886 was garbage. How do you like it because from what I saw it looked cool?

I'm a big Playstation guy, used to own a PS2, sold it for a PS3, and now I've got a PS4. I wanna get Shadows of Mordor, and I played the demo for Destiny a long time ago. I liked it a lot, but not enough to pay for it. I'm cheap sometimes. I play mostly the Batman: Arkham Series, Star Wars Battlefront, and No Man's Sky.

How the HECK do you play No Man's Sky? What is your secret? I'm not even sarcing you, brah. I suffered from NSM syndrome a few hours in when everything began to blur into a seamless pit of nothing but I would return instantly to that $60 purchase if I knew how.

Before i say anything else i guess i should also state i have only pre-ordered/paid full price for a handful of games.
Borderlands Handsome collection, Alien Isolation, Destiny, For Honor
^that's it. everything else i got at discounted price, deal, or what not (no i don't pirate video games)

I heard the Order 1886 was garbage. How do you like it because from what I saw it looked cool?
With most games if i haven't purchased them yet and "The Honest Trailer" is out by smosh on Youtube i usually watch that. after watching it a bought it at a discount price from PS store. i don't dislike it but i also don't think the reviews are incorrect in how they judge it.

Video

but i went in having low expectations and didn't risk a lot with the price i bought it at. it's basically a decent movie with quick time reaction, some moderate action/shooting and concept.

at this point don't pay for Destiny, it's not worth it. i played "hardcore" for the first year it was out. got tired of it. came back to playing it for a few months after each expansion and then went back to ignoring it for the most part unless the occasional friend brought me back to it and then it was just to help them through hard missions because my character was either super high level or i knew how to actually do team work and new the tricks of how to get around certain difficult areas.

Shadows of Mordor is generally not too different from Assassin's Creed. but not necessarily in a bad way. if you enjoy AC universe as well as the Lord of the Rings you will like Shadows of Mordor. i guess i got Game of the Year edition.

I have one or two batman games and they are ok but newer games (like AC universe) have similar/the same mechanics. i'm personally not super into batman in the game universe and all the Bman games i have are on PS3 which i rarely play altogether as it is but i still go back to them on occasion.

the "original" star wars battlefronts are the better ones. i played those excessively before i had a console of my own and even a little bit on my first laptop though the newest installment of Battlefront is bad imo. i played the closed beta and some of the "finish" game and new i wouldn't enjoy playing it regularly or to the extent of the other games i play.

No Man's Sky.....that's just bad... cuz reasons...lol. please tell me you didn't pay full price.

One: I got it as a gift. Two: I played it few like an hour without the update and loved it, then updated to the Foundation Update, immediately hated it cause it redesigned the planet I was on and had to re-find everything. Three: I waited a few days, picked it up again, and after hopping to a few different planets, I fell in love with it again.

The thing about No Man's Sky, is that it's a game that needs to be played at 3+ hours or more at a time, cause that's kinda how long it takes to complete multiple objectives and feel like your really accomplishing something. If your only gonna play at 1 to 2 hour intervals, don't play it. It'll get boring real fast.

I played it in 3-4 hour periods and got bored really fast when things began to repeat at insulting levels and mining became as tedious as writing "tedious" two hundred times over.

Though I won't deny the feeling of leaving one planet for the other. There is a special thrill of going where no man has gone before. The problem is that going someplace new really just means going to a rehash of pretty much the same thing and doing pretty much nothing upon arrival. That game was shockingly not what the dev made it out to be, and so that's even discounting consumer hype.

But even without all that, the game, as it stands, is a flaw of flaws. Thus, you and I shall make a better one, and we shall call it Every Man's Sky.

I was this with Destiny on and off. Sometimes, I could hop onto Mars and just headshot Cabal till I'm blue in the face but satisfied. It was always to build my character up anyway. Other times, it made me feel very lonely.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE there's Destiny 2 which is going to fix all those problems because, hey, it's Destiny 2!
Ahaha...ha...
